피임(避妊, Contraception)이란 인위적으로 임신을 피하는 것을 말한다. 임신 가능한 요인을 제거하는 것으로 수정을 예방하거나 수정란이 자궁내막에 착상되지 않도록 조치를 취하는 것이다. 피임을 하는 목적은 인공적으로 출산을 제한하기 위해 임신을 미연에 방지하고자 하는 의도도 있으나, 피치못할 상황에 처해 도의적으로, 혹은 여성의 신체적 건강을 위해서 행하는 인공임신중절을 사전에 예방하는 데도 그 의도가 있다.

최근들어 바이러스마케팅이 유행하고 있다. 바이러스마케팅이란 컴퓨터 바이러스에서 유래했다. 즉, 컴퓨터 바이러스에 감염된 PC에서 이메일을 통해 다른 사람에게 배달되는 최근의 바이러스와 마찬가지로 바이러스마케팅은 광고를 본 사람이 친구나 다른 사람에게 전달하는 형식을 취하고 있는데서 붙여진 이름이다. 기업이 자사의 제품을 홍보하기 위해서 자사의 제품광고를 본 사람들에게 제삼자에게 추천을 부탁하는 형식을 취하는 것이다.

본고에서는 주로 전자장비간에 발생하는 EMI를 억제하기 위한 방안으로 장비 자체를 도전성 케이스를 씌워 EMI의 전파경로를 파괴하는 것과 고대역제거필터를 전원 바로 뒤에 달아서 EMI의 원인이 되는 고주파성분의 전류 및 전압 자체를 제거하는 것 뿐 만 아니라 장비내부의 배선 및 접지를 적절히 취하여 EMI의 전파효율을 낮추도록 하는 것을 기술하였다.

개인정보보호라는 말을 요즘처럼 많이 들었던 적이 있었을까요? 개인정보와 관련된 신문기사가 거의 매일 같이 등장하고 있죠. 며칠 전 국내 한 대형 통신사는 개인정보 유출에 대한 고개불안을 해소하기 위해 텔레마케팅 중단조취까지 취하는 등 개인정보보호에 대해 사회 전 구성원의 관심이 집중되고 있습니다. 그리고 급기야 정부가 인터넷 상의 개인정보 침해방지 대책을 발표하기에 이르렀습니다.

Three characteristics-based split-operator methods were applied to a longitudinal pollutant dispersion problem, and the results were compared with those of several Eulerian schemes. The split-operator methods consisted of generalized upwind, two-point fourth-order and sixth-order Holly-Preissmann schemes, respectively, for the advection calculation, and the Crank-Nicholson scheme for the diffusion calculation. Compared with the Eulerian schemes tested, split-operator methods using the Holly-Preissmann schemes gave much more accurate computational results. Eulerian schemes using centered difference approximations for the advection term resulted in numerical oscillations, and those using backward difference resulted in numerical diffusion, both of which were more severe for smaller value of the longitudinal dispersion coefficient.

We propose an extended additional layer method (EALM) of calculating the coupling coefficient of arbitrary shaped diffraction gratings. In EALM, to determine the unperturbed field distribtution, a grating region is replaced by a new uniform layer whose dielectric constant is the average value of the dielectric constant of a grating region in both longitudinal and transverse directions. Using this method, we calculate the coupling coefficient for a five-layer distributed feedback structure device with trapezoidal and triangular gratings. The validity of this method is established by comparing the results calculated by partitioning the grating region up to five uniform layers.

An image enhancement method using both homomorphic transformation and multiscale decomposition is proposed. The original image is first transformed to homomorphic domain by taking the logarithm, is then separated to multiscales. These multiscales are combined with weighting. The combined signal is exponentially transformed back into intensity domain. In homomorphic domain, the magnitude control of low frequency component make change the dynamic range, and the magnitude control of the other frequency components contribute to enhancement of the contrast. The "${\AA}$ trous" algorithm, which has a simple and efficient scheme, is used for multiscale decomposition. The performance of proposed method is verified by simulation.
