Finite Element Analysis for the Safety Assessment of Take-out Robot (취출로봇의 안전성 평가를 위한 유한요소해석)

  • Take-out robots used for handling of the plastic parts manufactured with the injection mold are usually the gantry type that consists of long and thin links. In this study, we want to evaluate the safety of the take-out Robot structure through finite element analysis. The take-out Robot is automated robot to transport from one location to another in the molded article. The take-out Robot structure has a 380 kilogram weight, a 1300mm width, a 670.5mm depth and a 670mm height. It confirms the equivalent stress and the deformation of the load and its own weight through weight analysis. It looks for the natural frequency of the take-out robot through modal analysis. It confirms the acceleration, the normal stress and the deformation about the natural frequency of the take-out robot through response analysis. Also It repeats the analysis by changing the structure of the take-out robot, to confirm the results and it is determined whether the safety of the structure. These analysis results are effectively used to reduce the vibration of the take-out robot.

Design of Ice Dispenser Mechanism of Household Refrigerator for Full Discharging (가정용 냉장고의 얼음 완전 취출 메커니즘의 설계)

  • A refrigerator equipped with an ice dispenser has ice cubes in its ice bucket to discharge the required amount of ice. On the other hand, the ice cubes in the bucket may clump together if the refrigerator is filled with ice and is not used for a long time or during normal operation. Although a mechanism for separating the ice mass is provided, the ice mass cannot be removed completely if the ice blocking is severe. To solve this problem, after investigating the existing research on the process of ice entanglement and the separation force, this study tested ice extraction under a range of conditions of artificially entangled ices. In this process, new mechanisms are proposed to resolve the problem of existing ice storage features that prevent the extraction of ice and to expand the working radius of the icebreaking mechanism for full extraction. The prototype of the proposed mechanism was also fabricated in an actual refrigerator. As a result, the proposed shape and mechanism could extract the ice cubes in the bucket completely, while the existing ice dispenser could extract only 65%.

Analysis of Pick-up Mechanism for Automatic Transplanter( I ) (자동 채소 정식기 묘 취출 메커니즘 분석(I))

  • In various crops, seedlings are preferred to seeds for faster and more effective growth, so transplanters are used for them. This 2-row transplanter was developed to promote the mechanization of vegetable transplanting work which depends on human power. and it can automatically supply seedling tray and transport picked up seedling to the planting hopper. Also, we judged performance of transplanter with comparing seedling missing plant ration according to two types of pick-up method. Result of experiment, in finger-type picking up of 265 seedlings, missing plant ratio was 13.7% with 17 failures of pick-up and 15 collapse of bed soil. and In fork-type picking up of 200 seedlings, failure of pick-up was not appeared and missing plant ratio was low as 4% with 6 dropped during transfer. Therefore for 2-row automatic transplanter, fork-type pick-up device was found to be compatible.

Computer Simulation on the Thermal Environment by the Diffusion temperature and Diffusion Angle of Ceiling Type Air Conditioner in Classroom (교실에서의 천장형 냉난방기의 취출온도 및 취출각도에 따른 열환경 시뮬레이션)

  • Research has been carried out to study thermal environment in a classroom under three kinds of air diffusion temperature and six kinds of air diffusion direction for ceiling type air conditioner. The velocity and temperature distributions of air in the room calculated by 3-dimensional numerical method(PHOENICS), This present study was also conducted to calculate the Air Diffusion Performance Index(ADPI) for cooling conditions and Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied(PPD) for heating conditions. This analysis shows that the optimum angle of ceiling type air conditioner's diffusion is $15{\sim}30^{\circ}$ for cooling mode and about $15{\sim}45^{\circ}$ for heating mode in these calculating conditions. And also analysis has been carried out to evaluate thermal comfort of vertical and horizontal cross section of classroom.

A Study on the Optimum Design of Air-Conditioning Duct with Multiple Diffusers (다수의 취출구를 갖는 A/C덕트의 최적설계에 관한 연구)

  • The airflow characteristics of an air-conditioning duct with multiple diffusers were investigated through one-dimensional analysis, CFD simulation and experimental measurement. One-dimensional program based on Bernoulli's equation and minor loss equations was developed in order to evaluate the air distribution rate at each diffuser. In CFD simulation, three-dimensional flow characteristics inside air-conditioning duct were computed for incompressible viscous flow, adopting the RNG k-$\xi$turbulence model. Also, in an effort to equalize the discharge flow rate at each outlet, the optimization procedure has been performed to obtain the optimum diffuser area. In this process, square of difference between maximum discharge rate and minimum discharge rate is used as an object function. Diffuser area and discharge velocity are established as constraints. After optimization process, determined design variables are applied again in CFD simulation and experiment to validate the optimized result by one-dimensional program. Comparison with the experimental data of airflow rate distribution showed that the developed program seems to be acceptable and can be useful design tool for an automotive air-conditioning duct in an initial design stage.

  • Clients require easy to use of product and operating and industry safety according to the change of a market and a factory. For overcoming it, this paper developed controller of take-out robots that take high speed and superprecision and supplement a week point as use the system based on network. development controller classify teaching pendant and center server PC. Center server PC service the information about all process to supervisor. Teaching pendant is the bridge that service various faculties such as control, user recognition, metallic pattern operation to the user using injection molding. The controller development for taking out injection molded body classify software and hardware. The development of software is divided into three step which is application program, user interface and device driver. the simple device driver is not classified and included in application program. The hardware induce the touch panel and wireless network and construct the effective process control and internet connection. The inject ion cycle of existing system was five second but advanced system has the inner four cycle, process efficiency and product operation through wireless network.

  • As the desire for a better condition in classroom increases, the distribution rate of warming and cooling conditioners increases. But it is known that according to the way by which the equipments put and are operated the comfortableness felt by persons who are in classroom can make a difference. Therefore, proper equipments in accordance with the size of classroom should be considered as well as operational methods when ceiling warming and cooling conditioners put. This study makes conclusions as follows through a simulation to get improvements in accordance with the size of classroom and to improve the heating performance of ceiling warming and cooling conditioners in classroom.

Study on Noise Reduction of an Industrial Take-out Robot (산업용 취출로봇의 소음 저감에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, we experimentally investigate factors that decrease in noise of a industrial take-out robot at driving state. For this, we analyse change in the noise of the take-out robot with gear machining accuracy and clearance. In order to calculate the noise related to gear machining accuracy that is based upon the Japanese Industrial Standard(JIS), we equally increase motor speed from 0 rpm to 1250 rpm. In addition, to investigate influence of clearance on noise, we evenly change clearance from 0.5 mm to 1.2 mm. These experiments show that clearance is more effective factor than gear machining accuracy to reduce the noise of the take-out robot.
