Analysis of Powder Packing for Alumina Using Design of Experiment with Mixture and Vibration (혼합물실험계획법과 가진을 이용한 알루미나 파우더의 충진율 분석)

  • Alumina powder is one of the widely used materials for industry, but there is a problem that the strength of the product changes depending on the powder packing state. To solve the above problem, previous studies have been conducted to increase the particle packing efficiency, but most of the existing studies analyzed the packing characteristics of millimeter-scale particles, so the physical properties are different from those of the micrometer scale. It is difficult to apply to the micrometer scale. In this paper, a three-step experiment was performed using a statistical method to increase packing using micrometer-scale alumina powder. First, a size combination with high packing and a mixing ratio were selected using the mixture test design method, and an appropriate excitation frequency was selected by analyzing the height change according to the frequency change in the vibration test apparatus. Finally, an alumina powder packing experiment was performed based on the experimental results mentioned above. As a result, it was confirmed that the maximum height variation was 42% higher than the maximum value of the 155 measurements performed when selecting the packing size combination. It is thought that this study will serve as basic data for processing and packing research using fine powder.

  • In order to efficiently optimize the problem involving complex computer codes or computationally expensive simulation, surrogate models are widely used. Because their accuracy significantly depends on sample points, many experimental designs have been proposed. One approach is the sequential design of experiments that consider existing information of responses. In earlier research, the correlation coefficients of the kriging surrogate model are introduced as weight parameters to define the scaled distance between sample points. However, if existing information is incorrect or lacking, new sample points can be misleading. Thus, our goal in this paper is to propose a weight function derived from correlation coefficients to generate new points robustly. To verify the performance of the proposed method, several existing sequential design methods are compared for use as mathematical examples.

  • Approximate optimization has become popular in engineering field such as MDO and Crash analysis which is time consuming. To accomplish efficient approximate optimization, accuracy of approximate model is very important. As surrogate model, Kriging have been widely used approximating highly nonlinear system . Because Kriging employs interpolation method, it is adequate for deterministic computer simulation. Because there are no random errors and measurement errors in deterministic computer simulation, instead of classical DOE ,space filling experiment design which fills uniformly design space should be applied. In this work, various space filling designs such as maximin distance design, maximum entropy design are reviewed. And new design improving maximum entropy design is suggested and compared.

  • Recently kriging model has been widely used in the DACE (Design and Analysis of Computer Experiment) because of prominent predictability of nonlinear response. Since DACE has no random or measurement errors contrast to physical experiment, space filling experimental design that distributes uniformly design points over whole design space should be employed as a sampling method. In this paper, we examine the maximum entropy experimental design that reveals the space filling strategy in which defines the maximum entropy based on Gaussian or exponential. The influence of these two correlation functions on space filling design and their model parameters are investigated. Based on the exploration of numerous numerical tests, enhanced maximum entropy design based on exponential correlation function is suggested.

  • As many scientific phenomena are now investigated using complex computer models, the effective use of Kriging on physical problems has been expanded to provide global approximations for optimization problems. This paper is focused on the two types of strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy of approximate optimization models using Kriging. These methods are performed by the stochastic process, stochastic-localization method(SLM), as the criterion to move the local domains and the design of experiments(DOE), the classical design and space-filling design. The proposed methodology is applied to the designs of 3-bar truss, Sandgren's pressure vessel, and honeycomb upper platform of a satellite structure.

  • 주조방안이란 주형(금형)에 공동부를 어떻게 설계하고 공동부의 어떤 위치에 어떻게 탕도, 탕구 등을 설계할 것인지, 또 over-flow 및 air-vent는 어떻게 설계하여 가스뽑기 및 용탕을 공동부에 원활히 충진시켜 완전한 제품을 얻을 수 있을까에 대한 제반적인 주조방법의 계획이다. 즉, 용탕을 공동부에 충진시키는 시스템이며, 주조상에 발생하는 제문제 및 주조제품의 품질에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요소 중의 하나이다. 따라서 만약 주조방안 시스템이 부적절하여 불량률이 높은 경우에는 대폭적인 금형수정이나 경우에 따라서는 불가피하게 금형을 신작해야 하는 큰 문제도 야기될 수 있다. 또한 기본적인 품질문제로 탕회, 탕경, 크랙 등의 외관불량과 기동 등의 내부결함, 내압불량등도 유발될 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 불량대책으로 쉽게 주조방안을 수정하는 것은 주조 시스템 자체가 변해버리기 때문에 피해야 하며 다른 대책을 선행하여 해결할 수 없었을 때 최종적으로 신중히 검토 후 주조방안을 수정하는 것이 바람직하다. 따라서, 본고에서는 Al합금 다이캐스트 주조기술에 있어 주조품질을 결정하는 중요한 요소인 주조방안의 효과적인 설계를 위한 주조기 선정, 금형분할면 선정, 탕구계의 설계와 탕구선정, over-flow 및 air-vent설계, 수축여유 및 금형냉각방안 선정기술에 대한 기본적 방안을 제시하고 실제 주조방안의 대표적인 사례를 소개하고자 한다.

  • The best way to prevent major occupational accidents is prohibiting use of hazardous substances such as flammable gas, toxic gas whereas using alternative substances that ensured safety. but if there are no economic efficiency and substituting technologies of alternative substances, the best way is preparing to prevent accidents thoroughly. Therefore, this study has developed and selected release scenarios to use and apply for consequence analysis and emergency action plan for HF charging process of chemical plants that have HF release accidents and high probability of release accidents.

이동식 진공 배기장치를 이용한 하나로 냉중성자원 가스블랭킷계통의 기능시험

  • 하나로 노심에서 발생하는 열중성자를 감속재인 액체수소층을 통과시켜 냉중성자를 생산 하는 설비인 냉중성자원 시설은 초경량 합금, 신소재 및 DNA 구조연구 등의 첨단기술연구에 유용한 도구로 활용될 계획이며, 현재 원자력연구원에서는 냉중성자원 시설을 개발하여 제작 설치하였고, 이 장치들에 대해 기능시험을 수행하였다. 냉중성자원 시설계통에서 가스블랭킷계통은 수소의 외부누출을 방지하고, 진공용기를 포함한 수조내기기 내부로 공기 및 경수가 유입되지 않도록 하여 냉중성자원을 보호하기 위한 역할을 수행한다. 또한 가스블랭킷계통의 구성은 가스공급장치($N_2$ 및 He 가스 실린더로부터 가스공급 기능), 질소충압탱크, 진공박스, 수소박스, 밸브박스 및 각 구역별 독립 배관 등으로 되어있다. 이동식 진공배기장치는 가스블랭킷계통에서 사용하기 위해 특수하게 제작된 장치로서 진공계통과 수소계통의 초기충진 시 또는 계통배기 시 잔류가스를 제거하거나, 블랭킷가스의 오염검사를 위한 시료채취 기능 등을 수행할 수 있도록 되어있다. 본 논문에서는 냉중성자원장치 내의 수소계통 및 진공계통의 배관과 기기를 외기와 경수로부터 안전하게 격리시키기 위해서 제작설치 적용된 가스블랭킷계통에서 이동식 진공배기장치를 이용하여 잔류가스 제거방법과 각 가스블랭킷 영역으로부터 시료를 채취하여 수행된 산소농도 분석에 대해 기술하였다.

Assessment of Regional Groundwater Pollution Hazard using Potential Pollutant of Pohang Area (잠재오염원을 이용한 포항지역의 광역적 지하수 오염 위험성 평가)

  • The aim of the study is to assess groundwater pollution hazard of Pohang city using the DRASTIC system developed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). Hydrogeological spatial databases of the system include information on depth to groundwater, net recharge, aquifer media, soil media, topographic slope, hydraulic conductivity, lineament and potential pollution source. With GIS based on these hydrogeological databases and the DRASTIC system, the regional groundwater vulnerability of the study area was assessed. Then the vulnerability was overlaid with potential pollution source and the regional groundwater pollution hazard was assessed by administrative district. From the results of the study, areas where need the counter plan for groundwater pollution and where should be managed for the groundwater pollution, are identified.
