The Study of Absorption and Hydraulic Character in Packing Tower (충전탑에서 흡수와 수력학적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • 산업공정에서 배출되는 대기오염물질 및 유독성가스를 제거하기 위한 방법에는 여러 가지가 적용되고 있으나, 본 연구에서는 충전탑을 이용한 흡수원리로써 오염물질을 처리하는데 후력학적 특성에 대해서 연구하였다. 즉 환경보호와 화학공업에서 에너지 절약 측면에 충전탑의 사용이 증가되고 있으며, 충전물의 재료로는 플라스틱, 금속 및 세라믹 등으로 제작되며 종류로는 VSP-ring, Hiflow-ring, Hackette, Top-packing, Envi-pac 등이 있고 사용범위는 정류와 증류, 흡수 및 탈착과 액체와 액체의 추출공정 등에 효율적으로 사용되고 있다. 산업현장에서는 과거에 주로 사용되어온 Intalox-saddle, Rasching-ring, Pall-ring 등의 재래적 충전물은 압력손실과 물질전달, 에너지 절약 및 효율성이 좋은 격자형 충전물의 개발로 인하여 점점 사용이 감소되고 있는 추세이며, 최근에는 합성수지로 제조된 충전물 NSW-ring, Hiflow-ring, Envi-pac 등은 실험 결과에 의해서 재래적인 충전물 Raschig-ring과 Pall-ring보다 높은 상대적인 공간체적과 충전높이에 따른 낮은 압력손실과 함께 높은 부하 한계치에 대하여 효율적이고 가벼운 분리작용에 의한 수력학적 특성이 증명되어졌다. 격자형 충전물이 산업에 적용되기 위해서는 압력손실과 액체함량, 부하 한계치 가스상 또는 액상 물질전달의 특성을 규명하는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가수와 액체의 역류흐름에 의한 수력학적 특성과 물질전달 실험결과를 나타내었다.

Basic Study on Shear Characteristics of Filled Rock Joint (충전된 절리면의 전단특성에 관한 기초연구)

  • In this study, a new direct shear apparatus was developed to investigate the shear characteristics of the rock joints at various conditions. Using the developed apparatus, various experiments on filled rock joints were carried out considering the asperity angle, the normal stress, the type and thickness of filling material and to investigated the basic shear characteristics of filled rock joints were analyzed. According to the experiments performed under the constant normal stress condition by varying the asperity angle, the type and thickness of filling material, it was shown that the behavior and strength of filled rock joint could be defined by the type and thickness of the filling material. The dilation angle of the filled joints was found to be smaller than that of unfilled rock joint, and thereby, the effect of roughness was also reduced due to the filling material. And critical thickness ratio varied according to stress level and roughness as well as the type of filing materials.

  • 불연속면을 따라 점토 등의 충전물이 포함된 경우에는 불연속면의 방향이 유리하게 작용하 더라도 사면안정에 불안정성을 초래한다. 연구지역의 사면활동은 점토충전물과 풍화토의 경계를 따라서 발생하였다.이것은 물성의 차이를 보이는 경계부분이 존재했기 때문이며,암석에서 엽리 등이 구조적 운동에서 약대로 작용하여 층간의 슬립을 유도하는 현상과 매우 유사하다. 대부분의 해석에서 점토충전물이 존재할 경우에는 하나의 불연속면으로 설정하여 해석한다. 이때의 불연속면은 점토층 내에서의 활동면으로 해석되므로 점토와 원지반과의 경계부에서의 해석 값과는 상당한 차이를 보이게 되고 점토의 물리적 성질에 많이 지배된다. 점토충전물로 인한 활동사면의 안정성 평가 결과는 충전물에 의한 불연속면의 파괴유형에 따른 강도정수에 의해 안전율에 상당한 차이를 보인다.

  • When filling material such as clay is included along the discontinuity, it may cause instability on a slope even if the direction of discontinuity works in a positive way. In the study area, slope sliding occurred at the boundary between a clay filling material and weathered soil because the physical properties differ across the boundary; and this is very similar to the situation where foliation in a rock works as a weak zone during a structural behavior, causing an inter-layer slip. In most analysis, if there exists a clay filling material, a single discontinuity is assumed to perform analysis. In those cases, the discontinuity is modeled as a slip surface within clay. Therefore, the characteristics of the boundary are not considered in the analysis, so that ultimately the physical property of clay usually prevails. The result of evaluating the slope stability affected by clay filling material shows the significant difference in the safety level due to the strength parameter depending on the failure type of the discontinuity by a filling material.

  • After heavy rainfall, It was occurred massive plane failure along bedding plane of shale in the center of rock slope. It was observed filling material and trace of underground water leakage around of the slope. We tried to find the cause for slope failure, and the result of examination showed that primary factors of the failure were low shear strength of clay filling material and water pressure formed within tension crack existed in the top of the slope. In this research, in order to examine the features of shear strength of filled rock joint, shear test of filled rock joint was conducted using of artificial filling material such as sand and clay..Also we made an investigation into the characteristics of shear strength with different thickness of filling materials.

  • 촉매탑에서 수소와 물 사이의 수소동위원소 교환반응에 사용되는 소수성 고분자 촉매 집합체제조 기술개발을 위하여, 촉매담체를 소수성 수지를 이용하여 충전물 표면에 효과적으로 Binding 시키기 위한 Surface coating 특성에 대하여 연구하였다. 실험에서 먼저 Teflon 수지에 잘 혼합된 Activated carbon을 Ceramic berl - saddle 등의 3가지 형태의 충전물 표면에 Coating시켜 소결 온도, 충전물의 형태 및 표면 위치에 따른 Coating 특성에 대하여 연구하였다.

  • 암반내 존재하는 불연속면은 암반거동에 중대한 영향을 미치게 되며, 특히 불연속면내에 충전물이 협재되어 있는 경우에는 암반구조물의 안정성에 보다 심각한 문제를 가져오는 경우가 많다. 이는 불연속면의 거동과 충전물의 거동이 복합적으로 작용하게 되며, 장기적인 시간을 두고 나타나기 때문이다. 본 검토에서는 충전된 불연속면의 특성을 분석하고, 점토나 흑연이 협재되어 문제가 되었던 현장 사례분석을 통하여 충전된 불연속면이 암반사면이나 터널과 같은 암반구조물에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 이를 통하여 충전물의 열화에 의한 장기적이고 잠재적인 거동을 수반할 수 있는 충전된 불연속면의 공학적 문제점을 고찰하였다.

  • 셰일층으로 구성된 암반사변에서 층리면을 따라 대규모 평면파괴가 사연 중앙부에서 발생하였다. 현장조사시 파괴사면 주변은 지하수 누수 흔적과 점토층의 충전물이 존재하였으며, 파괴원인을 검토한 결과 층리면을 따라 형성된 점토 충전물의 낮은 전단강도와 강우시 인장균열내 형성된 수압에 의해 붕괴가 발생한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 충전된 절리면의 전단강도 특성을 규명하기 위해서 모래, 점토의 인위적인 충전물을 이용하여 충전재 두께비에 따른 전단강도 특성을 고찰하였다.

  • Beam hardening artifact happens in the CT image. when a PET/CT is conducted while there is a metallic dental implant. The artifact appears in the CT image can affect the PET image. When the patient with head and neck cancer has a metallic dental implant, Beam hardening artifact which was taken in th CT image can change the PET image and SUV value. Therefore, by Quantitative measure of the SUV according to the change in HU by the metallic dental implant, the appropriacy in the clinical application was assessed. The records of 47 patients with PET/CT August 2011. For the analysis, 2 region of interest were defined in area where CT and PET image. As a result of the experiment, if there in an implant, the HU and the SUV increased and there existed a statistically significant difference(p<0.01). Although this level of increase was not large compared with that in the patient who have no metallic dental implant, when a person has head and neck cancer, it is even more likely to be overestimated when diagnosing the cancer. When conducting PET/CT for the patient who have head and neck cancer, the physical biological parts should be considered in order not to make an error in decoding.

Investigation of Rock Slope Failures based on Physical Model Study (모형실험을 통한 암반사면의 파괴거동에 대한 연구)

  • Laboratory tests for single plane sliding were conducted using the model rock slope to investigate the cut slope deformability and failure mechanism due to combined effect of engineering characteristics such as angle of sliding plane, water force, joint roughness and infillings. Also the possibility of prediction of slope failure through displacement monitoring was explored. The joint roughness was prepared in forms of saw-tooth type having different roughness specifications. The infillings was maintained between upper and lower roughness plane from zero to 1.2 times of the amplitude of the surface projections. Water force was expressed as the percent filling of tension crack from dry (0%) to full (100%), and constantly increased from 0% at the rate of 0.5%/min and 1%/min upto failure. Total of 50 tests were performed at sliding angles of $30^{\circ}$ and $35^{\circ}$ based on different combinations of joint roughness, infilling thickness and water force increment conditions. For smooth sliding plane, it was found that the linear type of deformability exhibited irrespective of the infilling thickness and water force conditions. For sliding planes having roughness, stepping or exponential types of deformability were predominant under condition that the infilling thickness is lower or higher than asperity height, respectively. These arise from the fact that, once the infilling thickness exceeds asperities, strength and deformability of the sliding plane is controlled by the engineering characteristics of the infilling materials. The results obtained in this study clearly show that the water force at failure was found to increase with increasing joint roughness, and to decrease with increasing filling thickness. It seems possible to estimate failure time using the inverse velocity method for sliding plane having exponential type of deformability. However, it is necessary to estimate failure time by trial and error basis to predict failure of the slope accurately.
