A Study on the Low Velocity Impact Response of Woven Fabric Composites for the Hybrid Composite Train Bodyshell (하이브리드 복합재 철도차량 차체 적용 적층판의 저속충격특성 연구)

  • This paper presents a study on the low velocity impact response of the woven fabric laminates for the hybrid composite bodyshell of a tilting railway vehicle. In this study, the low velocity impact tests for the three laminates with size of $100mm\times100mm$ were conducted at three impact energy levels of 2.4J, 2.7J and 4.2J. Based on the tests, the impact force, the absorbed energy and the damaged area were investigated according to the different energy levels and the stacking sequences. The damage area was evaluated by the visual inspection and the C-scan device. The test results show that the absorbed energy of [fill]8 laminate is highest whereas (fill2/warp2)s is lowest. The [fill]8 laminate has the largest damage area because of the highest impact energy absorption.

Prediction of the Penetration Energy for Composite Laminates Subjected to High-velocity Impact Using the Static Perforation Test (정적압입 관통실험을 이용한 복합재 적층판의 고속충격 관통에너지 예측)

  • In this paper, static perforation tests are conducted to predict the penetration energy for the composite laminates subjected to high velocity impact. Three methods are used to analyze the perforation energy accurately. The first method is to select the perforation point using the AE sensor signal energy, the second method is to retest the tested specimen and use the difference between initial and retested perforation energy, and the third method is to select the perforation point based on the maximum loading point in the retested load-displacement curve of the tested specimen. The predicted perforation energy results are presented and verified by comparing with those by the high velocity tests.

  • 탄소섬유가 중앙에 적층된 풍력발전용 블레이드 소재인 탄소 유리섬유 하이브리드 복합재료가 VARTM(Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding)공법을 이용하여 제작되었다. 아이조드 충격시험법을 이용하여 온도, 하이브리드화 비율 그리고 노치에 대한 충격강도의 영향을 연구하였다. 온도 감소 및 탄소섬유의 증가에 의해 충격강도는 감소하는 경향을 보였으며, 노치에 의해 하이브리드 복합재료는 약 $25{\sim}30$%가량의 충격강도 감소를 보였다. 그러나 단일 탄소섬유 복합재료의 경우 노치민감도는 없었으며, 이에 소량의 유리섬유 첨가로 인해 하이브리드화 하였을 경우 충격강도 향상 및 저온 충격강도 안정성을 확보 할 수 있었다.

Dose-related Effect of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy for Lateral Epicondylitis - Prospective Randomized Double Blind Comparative Study - (주관절 외상과염의 체외 충격파 시술에서 에너지량에 따른 치료 효과 - 전향적 무작위적 이중 맹검 대조군 연구 -)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the dose-related effect of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) for lateral epicondylitis. Materials and methods: Thirty patients with refractory lateral epicondylitis despite conservative treatment for 6 months were enrolled in this study. The patients were divided randomly into a low- and high-energy group. All patients were treated 3 times with ESWT with an interval of 1 week in a double blinded manner. The mean energy level in the low- and high-energy group was $0.12 mJ/mm^2$ and $0.24 mJ/mm^2$, respectively. The upper extremity functional scales and Mayo elbow scores were measured prospectively at the baseline, 1, 3 and 6 months after ESWT. Results: Significant clinical improvement was observed in both groups after ESWT. The high-energy group showed better pain improvement at 6 months after ESWT (p=0.019). The effect of ESWT was dominant between 1 and 6 months after ESWT than within 1 month. Conclusion: ESWT for lateral epicondylitis demonstrated showed good results regardless of the energy dose. However, a high-energy level was more effective in pain improvement after 6 months of treatment.

The Impact Characteristics of Paper Impact Absorber (종이성형 내충격 흡수재의 충격특성에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 종이 충격흡수의 효율적인 기하형상이 연구되었다. 일반적으로 충격흡수재는 골판지, 스폰지, 종이, 고무등으로 제작된다. 에너지 흡수거동에 대한 종이 충격 흡수재의 보강형태, 크기., 재료 특성에 대한 영향이 ABAQUS/Explicit5.5에 의한 유한요소 해석과 미끄럼 충격시험을 통해 연구되었다. 종이 충격 흡수재의 최대 변위는 충격속도에 따라 증가하며, 내부단수에 따라 감소하였다. 충격이력 특성은 내부단수가 7단일 때 5 msee까지 급속히 변형되며, 그 이후에는 영구변형으로 존재한다.

  • 흑연분말, 카본블랙, 탄소섬유분말을 첨가제로 한 저밀도 2-D 탄소/탄소 복합재의 밀도 및 기 기공도에 피치는 영향과 ILSS, 굽힘강도 및 충격에너지와 같은 기계적 물성과의 상관관계에 대하여 연구하였다. 흑연분말을 약 9 vol.% 첨가한 경우 가장 큰 ILSS값과 굽힘강도 및 충격에너지 흡수 거동을 나타내었는데, 특히 흑연의 함량이 증가함에 따라 puncture mode로의 충격 거동을 나타내 띠 많은 충격에너지를 흡수하였고, 인성이 상당히 증가하였다 카본블랙이 첨가된 경우에는, 약 3 vol.%에서 ILSS 값이 증가하였으나 큰 개선을 보이지 못하였으며, 굽힘강도는 감소하였다. 탄소섬유분말의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 층간분리에 의해 밀도가 현저히 감소하여 ILSS 및 굽힘강도의 감소를 보였다.

Evaluation of Impact Characteristics for High Strength Structural Steel at Low Temperature (고강도 구조용강의 저온 충격특성 평가)

  • Impact tests are performed on the high strength structural steel that is being developed for the submarine material. Especially, the impact characteristics of this structural steels at low temperatures are investigated by charpy impact testing. Hyperbolic tangent curve fitting method is used to evaluate the LSE(lower shelf energy), USE(upper shelf energy) and DBTT(ductile-brittle transition temperature). Proportional equations between charpy impact energy and lateral expansion are obtained using the test results. Effect of temperature on the fracture appearance is investigated by using SEM.

물체의 충돌 시 탄성파에 의한 질량중심의 이동 효과에 대한 해석

  • 두 물체의 충격운동량-충격 및 탄성파 발생의 순으로 작용하도록 하면 계 내에서 충돌 후 생기는 운동량의 관성 속도와 충돌기간동안 발생하는 탄성파의 충격에너지 전달속도가 다른 경우가 있다. 이것은 충돌기간동안 총 운동량은 보존되나 선 운동량이 비 보존되는 경우가 있어서 충돌기간동안 비 보존된 내부 운동량의 시간 적분만큼 충돌을 가한 질량중심이 이동했다는 의미이다. 충돌기간동안 충격파는 탄성파에 근사시키고 그것은 군속도에 근사시켜 이론적 근거를 만들고 실험에 의해 확인했다. 폐쇄된 계 내에서 내부에너지를 이용하여 특별한 두 물체의 충돌기간동안 비 보존되는 운동량 때문에 질량중심이 이동되는 것에 대해 해석한다.

  • Crash cushions are protective devices that prevent errant vehicles from impacting on fixed objects. This function is accomplished by gradually decelerating a vehicle to a safe stop in a relatively short distance. Commonly used crash cushions generally employ one of two concepts to accomplish this function. The first concept involves the absorption of the kinetic energy of a moving vehicle by crushable or plastically deformable materials and the other one involves the transfer of the momentum of a moving vehicle to an expendable mass of material located in the vehicle's path. Crash cushions using the first concept are generally referred to as compression crash cushions and crash cushions using the other concept are generally referred to as inertial crash cushion. The objective of this research is the development of a compression-type crash cushion by employing the two concepts simultaneously. To minimize the number of full-scale crash tests for the development of the crash cushion, preliminary design guide considering inertial and frictional energy absorption was constructed and computer simulation was performed. LS-DYNA program, which is most widely used to analyze roadside safety features, was used for the computer simulation. The developed crash cushion satisfied the safety evaluation criteria for various impact conditions of CC2 performance level in the Korean design guide.

  • In this study, impact behavior of aluminium and glass-fiber structure is studied under low impact velocity. Compression test is carried out to investigate the compressive strength of the specimens. The degree of damage is observed using microscopy and compared with the experimental analysis data. The maximum load capacity, impact strength and elastic energy of glass-fiber honeycomb sandwich panel are more than the aluminium honeycomb sandwich panel.
