Crashworthy behaviour of cellular polymer under constant impact energy (동일 충격 에너지 조건하에서 다공질 고분자의 충격거동에 관한 연구)

  • Characterisation of the stress-strain relationship as well as crashworthiness of cellular polymer was investigated under constant impact energy with different velocities, considering inertia and strain rate effects simultaneously during the impact testing. Quasi-static and impact tests were carried out for two different density (64 $kg/m^3$, 89 $kg/m^3$) cellular polymer specimens. Also, the equations, coupled with the Sherwood-Frost model and the Impulse-Momentum theory, were employed to build the constitutive relation of the cellular polymer. The nominal stress-strain curves obtained from the constitutive relation were compared with results from impact tests and showed to be in good agreement.

The Relationship between the Wage and the Productivity in the Korean Manufacturing Industry (거시적 관점에서의 임금과 생산성의 관계에 대한 연구 -우리 나라 제조업을 중심으로-)

  • We focus on the relationship between the wage and the productivity in the Korean manufacturing industry over the period from the 1971 year to the 2000 year by using the Geweke's linear feedback method and the impulse response method. And we divide the whole period into the 1971-before the financial crisis and the 1971-2000 including the after the financial crisis to study the change of the relationship between the wage and the productivity after the financial crisis. The results are the followings; The productivity has the large influence on the wage positively, so that the improvement of the productivity boosts the wage and the vice versa in the before financial crisis period. It means that both the conventional wage setting theory and the alternative wage theory(efficiency wage and union theory) exist in the manufacturing industry. However, there exist only the conventional wage setting theory in the whole period.

  • In this study, new shock absorbing system is proposed by using nano-technology based on the theoretical analysis. The new shock absorbing system is complementary to the hydraulic damper, having a cylinder-piston-orifice construction. Particularly for new shock absorbing system, the hydraulic oil is replaced by a colloidal suspension, which is composed of a porous matrix and a lyophobic fluid. The matrix of the suspension is consisted of porous micro-grains with a special architecture: they present nano-pores serially connected to micro-cavities. Until now, only experimentally qualitative studies of new shock absorbing system have been performed, but the mechanism of energy dissipation has not been clarified. This paper presents a modeling and theoretical analysis of the new shock absorbing system thermodynamics, nono-flows and energy dissipation. Compared with hydraulic system, the new shock absorbing system behaves more efficiently, which absorb a large amount of mechanical energy, without heating. The theoretical computations agree reasonably well with the experimental results. As a result. the proposed new shock absorbing system was proved to be an effective one, which can replace with the conventional one.

A Study on the Vibration and Acoustic Radiation from an Elastic Free- Free Beam due to a Steel Ball Impact (강구의 충돌에 의한 양단자유 보의 진동 및 음향 방사에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, vibrations and resulting acoustic radiations from an elastic beam impacted by a steel ball were studied theoretically and experimentally. First the transverse vibrations of free-free elastic beams are analysed with modal analysis technique. The impact forces are modeled with the Hertz's theory and the contanct duration is compared with the measured values. Also the calculated beam vibrations are verified with the experimental results. Then the acoustic radiations due to the beam vibration are studied numberically and experimentally. The acousticpressure is calculated assuming the beam has an elliptical cross-section. The predicted acoustic pressure is compared with the measured value. It was found that both the predicted beamvibrations using the Hertz's theory and the estimated acoustic pressure under the assumption of an elliptical cross- section are in very good agreements with the measured values.

An Empirical Analysis of Market Power in The Dallas-Forth Worth Milk Market (Dallas-Forth Worth 우유시장의 시장지배력 측정에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we develop a dynamic structural model based on a dynamic supergame and measure market power for the Dallas-Forth Worth fluid milk market in the U.S. In particular, we compare the conduct parameter estimates from a static model with that from the dynamic model and illustrate bias in the market-power measure in a static model. And we also analyze the cyclical behavior of firm conduct. We find that the conduct parameter in a static model underestimates true market power if firms' behaviors are posited by a dynamic oligopoly game. We also verify that firm conduct in the Dallas-Forth Worth fluid milk market is countercyclical against demand shocks and expected future cost shocks. Our results indicate that the firms' conduct in the Dallas-Forth Worth fluid milk market is consistent with what dynamic oligopoly models predict. This implies that the firms consider not only the contemporary reactions of the other firms' but also future market competition. Therefore, the measurement of market power requires the specification of fully dynamic pricing relationship.

폭발물 및 고체 추진제 내의 충격파-화학반응 상호관계

  • 충격파에 의해 폭말물에 일어나는 화학반응 진행현상을 Forest Fire 모델과 함께 고온 부위에 의한 점화와 표면연소자는 현상학적인 근거위에 개발한 모델 두가지(IAG, Sandia)를 설명하였고 이 위에 고온부위 개념에 물리적인 설명을 부여한 새로운 모델을 소개하였다. 나중 세가지 모 델들을 PBX-9404에 대한 여러 가지 실험결과와 비교하였는 바 화학반응 초기의 압력증가현상은 주로 점화항(고온 부위에 의한)에 기인하는 것으로써 모두 만족할만한 결과를 보여주고 있으며 후기의 현상은 실험치와 약간 달라지는것(크거나 혹은 작거나)이 보인다. 이 오차가 과연 어느 만큼 실험 오차이며, 또 어느만큼이 모델 오차인지에 대하여는 아직 자료의 불충분으로 확정지어 말할 수 없다. 예를 들어 그림 4에서는 실험결과가 이론결과 보다 압력을 더 큰 것으로 나타 내고 있으며 그림 5에서는 그 반대 현상을 보인다 앞으로 이 방면에 더 연구가 진행되어야 하 리라고 고려되며 연후에 이 모델들을 다른 폭발물에 적용시켜 일반화시키는 일이 남아 있다.

CANDU형 원자로 주열수송 계통에 대한 Acoustic 해석

  • 1990년 12월 카나다의 Darlington 2호기에서 발생한 핵연료 다발의 양쪽 지지판에 있는 지지 금속판의 파손은 펌프 날개 통과 압력 충격파가 Acoustic 성격으로 중폭되어 연료봉지지판의 파손을 일으킨 것으로 추정되었고 이에 따른 주열수송계통에 대한 ABAQUS를 이용한 Acoustic 해석과 수많은 실험을 거쳐 Acoustic 압력 충격파가 핵연료 다발의 연료봉 지지판 파손 원인임이 입증되었다. 이러한 Acoustic 해석과 실험의 결과로써 Darlington 발전소의 열수송 펌프를 5 날개 펌프에서 7 날개 펌프로 교체시키게 되었으며 그 결과 핵연료 스트링의 축방향 진동을 감소시켜 연료봉 지지판의 파손을 방지하게 되었다. 이러한 사례로 인하여 최근 CANDU형 원자로 열수송 계통의 Acoustic 해석에 대한 연구가 AECL의 Chalk River Laboratory와 COG(CANDU Owners Group)에서 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 이 기고문에서는 매우 새로운 분야로써 현재 이루어지고 있는 CANDU형 원자로 열수송 계통의 Acoustic 해석을 위한 해석 이론과 해석 방법을 간단히 요약 정리하였다.

Dynamic Instability Analysis of Euler Column under Impact Loading (충격하중을 받는 Euler기둥의 동적좌굴 해석)

  • An explicit direct time integration method based solution algorithm is presented to predict dynamic buckling response of Euler column. On the basis of large deflection beam theory, a plane frame finite element is formulated and implemented into the solution algorithm. The element formulation takes into account geometrical nonlinearity and overall buckling of steel structural frames. The solution algorithm employs the central difference method. Using the computer program developed by the author, dynamic instability behavior of Euler column under impact loading is investigated by considering the time variation of load, load magnitude, and load duration. The free vibration of Euler column caused by a short duration impact load is also studied. The validity and efficiency of the present formulation and solution algorithm are verified through illustrative numerical examples.

  • This paper describes the development of non-explosive separation(NES) device which can be equipped on a small satellite. It comprises mechanism itself and spring-type shape memory alloy(SMA) actuator. In order to design SMA actuator properly, the necessary actuation force is measured. Based on that result, SMA actuator is designed and fabricated. Finally, SMA actuator and the proposed mechanism are integrated. In order to evaluate performance of the developed NES, we carried out a response time test, preload test and shock level test. In near future, we expect to replace the imported NES device with the developed device.

  • It has been employed TRANSYT-7F and NETSIM to evaluate the validity and effectiveness of improvement on TSM(Transportation Systems Management). But T7F is hard to describe platoon compression and dispersion in actually, and NETSIM takes a long time for network coding, calibration and have difficulty in setting up saturation flow. While Shockwave Model have advantage which can describe platoon compression and dispersion in actually and shorten hours, convenience of application. But Shockwave Model apply unrealistic traffic flow relation ship(U-K curve) and simplify platoon because of difficulty in calculating shockwave's position and cross. For solving limitation of existing shockwave models, It develop new model with 2-regime linear model, New platoon model, Extended shockwave, etc. For verifying the validity of the proposed model, it was compared with delay of T7F and NETSIM by offset variation. In conclusion, it is thought that proposed model have outstanding performance to simulate traffic phenomenon.
