  • 지역박물관은 규모와 재정의 영세성이라는 한계와 더불어 수도권에 극심한 집중을 보이는 우리나라의 사회 문화적 특성에 따라 상대적으로 운영에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 지역 박물관은 교통 수단의 발달과 지방자치제의 시행으로 낙관적인 시각에서 개관이 이루어진 경우가 많다. 그러나 저출산과 인구의 노령화 등으로 우리나라도 성장이 둔화되고 과거와 같은 성장을 기대하기 어려운 상황에서 지역박물관은 나름의 자구책을 찾고 있는 상황이다. 문화기관의 마케팅은 과거에는 생소한 개념이었으나 치열해진 경쟁 속에서 이제는 박물관 경영의 필수 요소로 요구되는 시점이다. 본 연구는 지역 박물관의 공간 마케팅을 소비자 이해의 관점에서 고찰하였다.

  • Prenatal and postnatal management is very important as the health of pregnant woman is directly related to the health of fetus. Therefore, there is a need for systematic management of prevent potential problems regarding the health of mother and fetus. The health of pregnant woman and fetus is the responsibility regarding health management of family and childcare, which influence the health and welfare of not only just woman but also the entire family. So the health management of pregnant woman and infant is a significant problem that must be socially taken into account. This thesis studied how to provide correct prenatal education method and attachement formation method before and after the birth using mobile application. The application provides writing childcare diary, fetus diary, introduce to correct prenatal education, postnatal education method, information of expected due date and emergency contact to manage both mother and fetus at the same time.

Military Manpower Challenges and Solutions in the Era of Low Fertility and Aging Population in South Korea (한국의 저출산 고령화에 따른 군 인력 확보 문제와 대응 방안)

  • This study aims to diagnose the military manpower shortage problem caused by the rapid decline in fertility and aging population in South Korea and explore countermeasures. To this end, it analyzes the trends of demographic changes and military manpower supply and demand forecasts in Korea, and evaluates major alternatives such as expanding female soldiers, introducing a voluntary recruitment system, and adopting advanced weapons. It also seeks to derive implications through case studies of military manpower policies in major countries such as the United States, Japan, and Germany. The results show that in order to secure sustainable manpower for the Korean military, it is necessary to increase the proportion of female soldiers, review the voluntary recruitment system from a long-term perspective, minimize the power gap due to troop reduction, strengthen incentives for skilled manpower, and draw social consensus on improving the military service system and defense reform. This study is expected to contribute to the establishment of future military manpower policies in Korea.

Experiences of Nurses Who Provide Childbirth Care for Women with Multi-cultural Background (간호사의 다문화 여성 출산간호 경험)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted in order to investigate the experiences of nurses in health care of women with multi-cultural background. The structure of these experiences was identified in a social-cultural context. Methods: Data were collected by means of in-depth interviews using tape-recordings from 16 participants who were providing childbirth care for culturally different women. A phenomenological method proposed by Colaizzi was used to guide the process of data analysis. Results: A total of 138 significant statements were extracted from the data resulting in nine themes and five theme clusters. Theme clusters that emerged from the data were: more in-depth cultural difference, difficulty in providing care in multi-cultured, sticking to care in our own way, not being ready to nurse, and accepting culturally different woman, such as a Korean woman. Conclusion: The findings suggest that systematic educational programs for enhancement of cultural competency and its support systems should be developed for Korean nurses. Useful materials on Korean childbirth care should also be provided to women giving birth.

Cross-Cultural Study on the Pregnant and Childbirth Practices in Mother-Grandmother Generations of Korea, Hong-Kong, and the United States (임신 및 출산 풍습에 관한 비교문화연구: 한국, 홍콩 및 미국의 어머니-할머니 세대를 중심으로)

  • This study was to investigate differences or similarities in pregnant and childbirth practices of Korea, Hong Kong and the United States and of mother-grandmother generations in each culture. The subjects were young mothers(YM) have baby from 2 to 2.5 years and their mothers or mothers-in-law(GM) in Korea(YM=118, GM=118), Hong Kong(YM=126, GM=78) and the United States(YM=105, GM=105). The subjects answered the questionnaires on pregnant and childbirth practices were constructed by specialists of child study in Korea, Hong Kong and the United States. Statistical analyses were by Frequencies, Percentages, Crosstabs, One-wav ANOVA, Scheffe' test, t-test. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Mother and grandmothers of Korea more tended to believe in supernatal being of pregnancy, to expect son, to eat a resortive and a food to help conceive, to inhibit attending a funeral at the time of childbearing, to practice fetal education than of Hong Kong and the United States did. 2. Relating sexual intercourse at the time of ovulation, maternal health care during the pregnancy, childbirth in hospital, husband's being in the hospital waiting room when their wife gave birth were much more prevailant in mothers than grandmothers did in Korea and Hong Kong.

Family Involvement and The Entry Mode into Entrepreneurship: The Contingent Role of National Culture (가족관여와 창업방식간의 관계에 대한 연구: 국가문화의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This study examines the role of family involvement and national culture in entrepreneurs' choice of mode of entry into entrepreneurship. Mode of entry consists of two choices: starting a new venture or taking over an existing firm. Specifically, we investigate how cultural values moderate the relationship between family involvement and their choice of business takeover. Using a cross-national sample of 3,831 respondents from 33 countries in Flash Eurobarometer data, we develop key variables and test our hypotheses employing hierarchical linear modelling. Our results show that the relationship between family involvement of entrepreneurs and their choice of business takeover is moderated by individualism, short term orientation, and power distance. This research contributes to understanding comparative international entrepreneurship based on national culture. Implications for policy makers and educators are discussed.

The change in the fertility rates and the determinants of birth interval of Korean women (한국여성의 출산율 변화와 출산간격 영향요인)

  • This paper uses a survey data to analyze the age-specific fertility rates, age-specific cumulative fertility rates, and ages of marriage of the five birth cohorts of Korean women born in the 1940s and thereafter. It was found that later cohorts reach their highest age-specific fertility rate at higher ages than earlier cohorts. The age-specific cumulative fertility rates of the 1950s and 1960 cohorts were found to be much lower than those of the immediately preceding cohorts, while those of the 1970s and 1980s cohorts were not different from those of the 1960s cohorts. Women belonging to later cohorts were found to get married at relatively higher ages. The estimation results of the hazard model show that women belonging to later cohorts and those with more schooling have a tendency to get married at higher ages. The effect of the birth cohorts is thought to be due to the economic, social, and cultural changes in Korea during the late 50 years or so. The time interval between a woman‘s marriage and first birth was found not to be affected by either the year of marriage or that of her birth. Also, those who remained employed for some time around their marriage and those with low schooling were found to have a lower first child birth hazard, which implies that married women’s employment status and family income play an important role in their decisions on childbirth.

A Study on Maternity Fashion in a Changing Society (사회적 변화에 따른 마터니티 웨어 패션 연구)

  • The definition of pregnancy has changed as society and its values have developed through different periods of history. In the ancient period, the definition of a woman's fertility was that female deities provided fecundity to barren women and barren land, and protected both the pregnant women during the period of gestation and also the land during the time of growth. These goddesses also administered the appropriate ceremonial rituals for conception and childbirth, and for planting and harvesting. After that, for the last 2,000 years, the most conspicuous icon has been "The Virgin Mary with the Infant Christ". Mary was the mother of Jesus Christ and model for Christian women. However, the centuries the image of woman and pregnancy has been changed, modern society through education, careers and job opportunities allows many women to be more than just a wife or a mother. Moreover, in the 21st century, many pregnant women want stylish maternity wear because they are proud and their minds are opened by these new icons of birth culture as like the pregnancy of many famous stars. From this the purposes of this study are as follows, Firstly, to study on the meaning of woman's fertility from ancient period to present time by social changes. Secondly, to investigate the historical concept of the maternity wear for current modern maternity fashion market. Finally, to expect to use this study would be helpful basic data for develop of the new researches of the maternity fashion in the future.

Factors affecting the intention of Chinese and Vietnamese migrant women to have a second child: Comparison between the "National Survey on the Multi-Cultural Families" of 2009 and 2015 (중국, 베트남 결혼이주여성의 둘째자녀 출산의도 영향요인: 2009년, 2015년 전국다문화가족실태조사의 비교)

  • Objectives: This study examined the differences in the intention of having a second child and the related factors among Chinese and Vietnamese migrant women from the perspective of adaptation theory. Methods: Data were drawn from the National Survey on Multi-Cultural Families in 2009 and 2015. Among the total 7,615 married migrant women (Korean-Chinese, Chinese-Han, Vietnamese), those within the age group 20-39 within the first 5 years of marriage who had one child were selected. A frequency analysis, chi-squared test, and logit regression analysis were performed. Results: Different ethnic groups had different reasons for having a second child and the related factors also differed between 2009 and 2015. In 2009, after controlling the related variables, the intention of Korean-Chinese and Chinese-Han married immigrant women to have a second child was higher than that of Vietnamese women, but no such difference was found in 2015. Participation in their local community, first marriage, the gender of the first child, and whether they were living with their parents-in-law were associated with the intention of migrant women having a second child in the 2009 analysis model but these factors were not significant in the 2015 analysis model. In the latter model, the household income, a variable related to economic conditions, has a positive effect on the intention of having a second child. Conclusions: The significance of this study supports adaptation theory by addressing the similarity in the childbirth intention between recently married immigrant women and Korean women.
