Transient Response Analysis of Rotating Blade Considering Friction Damping Effect of Elastically Restrained Root in Resonant Frequency Range (공진 주파수 영역에서 탄성지지단의 마찰감쇠효과를 고려한 회전 블레이드의 과도응답해석)

  • This paper presents the transient response analysis of a rotating blade in resonant frequency range. It is shown that the modeling is considered in elastic foundation and friction damping effect. The equations of motion are derived and transformed into a dimensionless form to investigate general phenomena. Numerical results show that the magnitude of friction damping to reduce maximum transient response in near the critical angular speed. The method can be applied to a number of examples of the practical rotating blade system to minimize transient response in resonant frequency range.

A Study on Rheological Properties of Polypropylene/Polycarbonate Blends (폴리프로필렌/폴리카보네이트 블렌드의 유변학적 성질에 관한연구)

  • 폴리프로필렌(PP)/폴리카보네이트(PC) 블렌드의 유변학적 고찰을 통해 블렌드의 수 축현상과 분상상의 변형의 연관성을 연구했다. 블렌드의 수축현상은 압축과정에서 변형됐던 분산상이 고온에서 다시 원래의 무변형 상태로 복귀하면서 나타나는 탄성변형의 풀림으로 추정되고 압출팽윤의 데이터와도 부합된다. 압출온도를 최대한 낮게 해서(25$0^{\circ}C$) 제조한 블 렌드의 경우가 최대한 높게 한 경우 (29$0^{\circ}C$)보다 수축이더 큰 사실을 설명하기 위하여 순수 PC와 PP의 전단점도비와 신장점도비를 측정 비교한 결과 두 값이 공히 높은 온도의 경우 가 오히려 작게 되어 점성에 의한 분산상의 전단변형이나 신장변형이 수축의 원인이 아니라 는 것을 알아다. 한편 법선응력과 전단응력의 데이터로부터 얻은 물질풀림시간의 비는 낮은 온도의 경우가 작아서 수축현상이 분산상의 탄성에 의한 변형이라는 것을 확인했다.

  • 제작되어진 LFB PVDF 초음파트랜스듀서를 이용하여 누설탄성표면파(Leaky Surface Acoustic Wave : LSAW)측정을 하였다. 시료로서는 $SiO_2$, Al, Cu등을 사용하였고, 측정방법으로써는 초점면에 위치한 시료를 트랜스듀서 쪽으로 접근시켰을 때 LSAW가 트랜스듀서의 중심축을 통과한 후 시료표면에서 반사되어오는 종파와 분리되어지는 현상을 이용하였다. 실험결과는 Campbell and Jones의 이론에 의한 해석결과와 비교 분석하였는데 매우 잘 일치됨을 알 수 있었다.

치과용 인상재의 비교 응용

  • 치과용 인상재는 구강내에서 치아나 주위조직을 정확히 인기하여야 하며 조작이 간편하고 유동성이 충분하며 경화시간이 적당하고 값도 저렴해야 한다. 또 구강내에서 제거할 때 영구변형이나 파절되지 않는 충분한 강도와 크기의 정확성도 있어야 하며 자극이나 독성이 없고 인체에 안정성이 있고 모형재와 친화성이 있으며 보관중에도 변질해서는 안된다. 그러나 인상재는 서로 상이한 특성이 있고 장단점이 각각 다르므로 모든 조건에 일치하는 인상재는 거의 없다. 따라서 여러 인상재중에서 가장 적합한 인상재를 선택하는 것이 중요한 과정이다. 즉 인상재의 특성과 응용을 알고 선택할땐 보다 정밀한 모형을 얻을 수 있다. 기록에 의하면 18~19세기경에 최초로 인상용 왁스를 사용한 이래 19세기 중엽에 인상용 석고, 1925년에 agar, 1930년 ZOE, 1945년 앨지네이트, 1957년 실리콘, 1967년 polyether 및 1975년 부가중합형 실리콘이 사용되었으며 인상재가 유연성과 탄성이 있는가 경고하며 비탄성인가 또는 온도변화와 화학반응으로 경화되는 가에 따라서 ZOE paste, 인상용 석고, 인상용 왁스, 인상용 콤파운드, 수성콜로이드(agar, 앨지네이트), polysulfide, 실리콘(축중합형, 부가중합형) 및 polyether 인상재등 10여종으로 분류된다.

Elastic Buckling of Transversely Isotropic Plate with Variable Width (폭이 변하는 Transversely Isotropic 판의 탄성좌굴)

  • Presented in this paper are the results of an analytical investigation pertaining to the elastic buckling behavior of transversely isotropic plate with variable width subjected to unequal uniaxial compression forces at the ends and in-plane shear forces at the sides. The existing analytical solution developed for the isotropic plates is extended so that the transversely isotropic material properties can be taken into account in the plate buckling analyses. For the derivation of buckling equation the power series solution is employed. Graphical forms of results for finding the buckling strength of tapered plates are presented. In addition, the finite element analysis is also conducted. The results are compared and discussed.

  • This paper experimentally investigates the characteristics of Al-honeycomb sandwich panels which are considered as a promising primary strength member of weight critical large structures. Some tests on the aluminum honeycomb panels subject to 3-point bending or uniaxial compression or crushing load are carried out. Based on the test results, linear elastic response, buckling/ultimate strength and crushing/energy absorption capacity are discussed. Some guidelines for design of aluminum honeycomb panels are given.

  • DQM(differential quadrature method) is applied to computation of two dimensional elasticity problems in helical spring. Elastic shear stresses in an axially loaded helical spring having rectangular and square cross sections are calculated. The results are compared with those obtained using the method of successive approximations. The differential quadrature method gives good accuracy even when only a limited number of grid points is used.

  • The use of frequency-dependent spectral element matrix (or exact dynamic stiffness matrix) in structural dynamics may provide very accurate solutions, together with drastically reducing the number of degrees of freedom to improve the computation efficiency and cost problems. Thus, this paper develops a spectral element model for the coupled thermoelastic beam which axially moves with constant speed under a uniform tension. The accuracy of the spectral element model is then evaluated by comparing the natural frequencies obtained by the present element model with those obtained by the conventional finite element model.

  • A two-axis gimbal-type X-band antenna mounted on an observation satellite can efficiently transmit high-capacity image data to a ground station regardless of both the satellite position and the orbital motion. However, this X-band antenna induces unnecessary micro-jitter which can degrade the image quality of the high-resolution observation satellite. Therefore, to achieve the high-resolution image quality from the observation satellite, micro-jitters have been required to be isolated. In this study, to resolve aforementioned drawback, we proposed blade gear using a shape memory alloy (SMA) applied to azimuth stage of X-band antenna. To investigate the rotational basic characteristics of the proposed SMA blade gear, we performed rotational static loading test. Futhermore, to evaluate the cycle to failure of the gear, accelerated life test was conducted. The temperature test was conducted to confirm rotational basic characteristics at various temperature conditions. To verify the isolation performance for micro-jitter, we performed micro-jitter measurement test.

Seismic Structures of the Eastern Bransfield Basin, Antarctic Peninsula (남극반도 동부 브랜스필드분지의 탄성파구조)

  • The Basin, a marginal basin located between the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands, is consist of three small basins, the Central, Eastern, Western Basins. Seismic data obtained on December 1995 show well-defined spreading ridges, basement highs, faults, morphology of the basin, distribution of sediments, crustal and sedimentary deformation, diapirs, and contourites. The main spreading axis of the Central Bransfield Basin connecting Deception and Bridgeman Islands continues up to the central part of the Eastern Basin, whereas deep basin covered by thick sediments without any spreading structures develops in the northeastern part. This indicates that back-arc spreading along the axis of the Bransfield Basin has been taken place in the southwestern part of the Eastern Basin, not in the northeastern part. Many NW-SE trending faults perpendicular to the axis of the basin would be related with strike-slip movement of the Shackleton Fracture. Zone. Extensinal strutures like deep basin without any spreading structures in the northeastern part, normal faults and diapirs on both continental slopes of the Eastern Basin would be formed by extension as a consequence of the sinistral movement between Antarctic and the Scotia plates.
