Theory and Experiment for Electromagnetic Shaft Current in Rotation Machinery (회전기계의 전자기 축전류에 대한 이론 및 실험)

  • Electrical damages to critical parts in rotation machinery have caused may machinery failures and hours of costly downtime. The problem of shaft currents generated in non-electrical machines have puzzled both users and manufacturers of these machines. The main solution for preventing electro- magnetic type damage is to demagnetize all of the machinery parts, however this is costly and time consuming. Therefore a thorough investigation into the causes and physical characteristics of electro- magnetic shaft currents is needed. In this paper, the self excitation theory was developed for a simple model, and axial flux Faraday disk machine surrounded by a long solenoid. Experimental tests were conducted to investigate the physical characteristics on an electromagnetic self excitation rig. The theory showed that the directions of both the shaft rotation and the coil turns should e identical if self excitation is to occur. From the tests, the electromagnetic type shaft current had both AC and DC components occurred at all vibration frequencies. This could point to the way to detect small instabilities or natural frequency locations by monitoring shaft currents.

  • A PWM inverter with an induction motor often has a problem with a high-frequency leakage current that flows through the distributed electrostatic capacitance from the motor windings to ground. This paper presents an equivalent circuit for high-frequency leakage currents in PWM inverter feeding an induction motor, which forms an LCR series resonant circuit.

  • This paper deals with the analysis of bearing current in H-bridge seven level multilevel inverter fed induction motor. In the previous researches utilized electromagnetic equations to derive the parasitic capacitance or measured capacitance parameters, but we used FEM to derive parasitic capacitances and defined the equivalent circuit parameters in our strategy. Then we compared suggested method with conventional method in 60 [Hz] no load condition.

  • 본 논문에서는 마일드 하이브리드 자동차에 적용 가능한 복합형 에너지 저장 장치의 운용 효율 및 수명 개선이 가능한 스위치 제어 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안한 제어 알고리즘은 복합형 에너지 저장 장치를 구성하는 축전지와 울트라커패시터의 전압, 전류, 전력 및 SOC의 변화에 따라 스위치를 적절히 제어함으로써, 시스템 전체의 운용 효율을 개선하고, 또한 축전지에 대전류 충/방전 상황 발생을 제한시켜 축전지의 수명저하 현상을 둔화시킨다. 본 논문에서는 마일드 하이브리드 자동차의 운행 조건을 모사한 사이클 프로파일과 차량 시뮬레이터 장비를 활용하여, 단순병렬 구성의 에너지 저장장치와 스위치 제어 알고리즘이 적용된 에너지 저장장치의 운용효율을 비교함으로써 제안한 알고리즘의 유용성을 확인하였다.

  • The most common carbonaceous anode materials of lithium ion batteries (natural graphite, artificial graphite, hard carbon, and mesocarbon microbeads) were utilized as an electrode in lithium ion capacitors. It could be able to enhance the energy density of capacitors due to the intercalation of lithium ion. In this work, the properties of capacitors using the symmetric electrode were measured by organizing coin cell typed capacitors. Also, we made other capacitors having pre-intercalated lithium ions at one side of the electrode. The results of electrochemical measurements for these capacitors show that the storage capacitance was appeared. In other words, if the migration of lithium ions is supplied continuously in the electrolytes, lithium ions can be diffused into the carbonaceous materials. And it results in the improvement of capacitance compared to only using symmetric carbonaceous electrodes. Also, we conducted the same measurement with graphene oxide having a the large specific area in the same condition. Herein, we recognized that the large specific area is extremely important for supercapacitors.

  • 베타선 흡수선량의 정밀측정에 사용되는 평판형전리함의 일종인 외삽형전리함(Extrapolation Chamber)으로 베타선 이온화전류의 정확한 측정을 위하여는 이온수집 단면적의 정화한 평가가 필요하다. 이를 위하여 표준 폴리축전기와 표준전압원을 이용한 충전용량 측정법으로 실제 유효 단면적을 구하였으며 측정결과는 기계적 측정치와 약 10.5%의 차이가 있음이 밝혀졌다.

  • To develop high performance nickel-iron secondary battery, the characteristics of charge-discharge reaction of iron electrode were examined by cyclic voltammetry technique, SEM and XRD analysis. The capacity of the test electrodes was determined by the constant current charge-discharge method. It was found that the temperature and concentration of electrolyte were the major determinant factors of electrode capacity, and especially the 1st discharge capacity was increased with the increase of temperature. The effect of fore forming agent on the electrode capacity was negligible. The electrode capacity was above 350 ㎃h/g(36% utility) at 0.25C discharge rate. The stability of electrode was very good, but the activation occurred slowly.

  • An inverter driven induction motor has more superior dynamic characteristic than sine wave driven induction motor. But it has a problem with shaft voltage and bearing current in drive-motor system. This paper presents the analysis of bearing current in inverter-fed induction motor. The proposed method is based on using numerical method (FEM) to derive parasitic parameters in motor. Using the electric field analysis with FEM, the stored energy in dielectric materials of the motor can be calculated and the parasitic capacitances are obtained. Then we compared the proposed method with a conventional method in variable frequency and load conditions. From the comparision of simulation and experiment result, we confirmed that the proposed method is valid.

  • 납축전지는 충전특성 곡선에 따라 정전류 충전 구간과 정전압 충전 구간으로 나누어 충전 동작을 수행하는 것이 바람직하다. 그러나 플라이백 컨버터를 사용한 저가형 배터리 충전기에서는 컨버터 회로의 1차측과 2차측의 절연을 유지하면서 이러한 2가지의 제어를 수행하는 것이 기술적으로 어려울 뿐만 아니라 회로가 복잡해지므로 현실적으로는 간편하게 정전압 충전만을 사용하는 경우가 대부분이다. 이처럼 정전압 충전만을 사용하게 되면 납축전지에 큰 충전 전류가 흐를 수 있으므로 축전지의 발열이나 수명 단축 등의 문제를 야기할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 마이크로컨트롤러에 의해 제어되는 디지털 가변저항을 사용하여 실시간으로 전압 피드백을 조절하는 방법으로 정전류 제어가 가능한 새로운 정전류 및 정전압 충전 방식을 제안하였으며, 직접 실험을 통하여 유효성을 확인하였다.

  • Various methods for estimation of residual charge of the lead-acid battery have been proposed. But no method can estimate accurately the residual capacity. A new method is proposed in this paper. And experiments were performed for verification of the proposed estimation method.
