  • The space launch vehicle needs the verification of each stage's propulsion system. The Propulsion System Test Complex(PSTC) is constructed for developing KSLV-II in the Naro space center. Hydraulic and pneumatic system of PSTC should supply propellants and various gases to propulsion system module according to required condition. This paper introduces liquid oxygen filling system of PSTC.

  • 발사체 추진기관은 추진제 및 각종 고압가스류를 엔진으로 공급하는 기능, 지상에서 추진제를 발사체로 충전/배출하는 기능, 저온 산화제를 냉각하기 위한 순환 기능, 추진제 탱크를 가압하는 기능, 지상에서 온보드 밸브를 구동하는 기능, 내부 공간 및 라인 퍼지 기능 등을 수행한다. 이와 같은 기능을 수행하기 위해 발사체에는 타 시스템과는 별도로 추진기관 원격제어 시스템을 구성한다. 제어 시스템은 크게 온보드 시퀀스 및 추진제 탱크 압력 제어, 추진제 및 고압가스 충전/배출 제어, 발사체 기능 확인, 내부 기밀 확인 및 발사 직전까지의 상태 모니터링을 위해 구성한 지상측정시스템(GMS), 비행 중 추진기관 상태를 모니터링하기 위한 텔레메트리시스템(TMS)으로 분류한다. 본 논문에서는 일반적인 발사체 추진기관 운용 및 제어 개념을 제어 기능, 시스템 구성, 작동 원리의 단계로 사례와 함께 제시하였다.

  • Before doing the flight test, the ground test for liquid rocket propulsion system is helpful for improving its reliability and reducing the development money. Therefore, by constructing the Propulsion System Test Complex for heavy liquid rocket propulsion system development, we expect that it will be the first step for making the commercial launcher which will be competitive in the international launch service market.

  • Korea Space Launch Vehicle II (KSLV-II) planned to launch in 2021 is 3 stage rocket which can inject 1.5 ton satellite in low earth orbit. KSLV-II will adapt the newly developed liquid rocket engines for its propulsion system of each stage. For the evaluation of development level for rocket engine, integrated system test performed in appropriate facility is needed. In this study, test article and major parameters for certifying the propulsion system of KSLV-II were reviewed and optimum test cycle and test duration for satisfying system reliability requirement were illustrated.

  • Basic design result for propulsion system test complex(PSTC) of KSLV-II is briefly described. KSLV-II is a three stage launch vehicle will be used liquid rocket engine for each. PSTC is will be used for development and performances qualification tests of $1^{st}/2^{nd}/3^{rd}$ propulsion systems for KSLV-II. In the future, this result will be applied to critical design and manufacturing of PSTC after deciding lay-out and operating program.

  • The test facility for confirming performance of a propulsion system is essential infra-structure to develop launch vehicle system. Using the PSTC, cold flow and combustion tests are performed to the propulsion system of individual stage in launcher. Moreover the ground test for the total launching process is conducted. In order to construct the PSTC, we not only have surveyed technology of internal and external countries, but also actively use the case in terms of the system. The test facility consists of feeding system, test stand, control and measurement, and flame deflector.

  • The deign and development status of a combustion chamber test facility(CTF), a turbopump real propellant test facility(TPTF), a rocket engine test facility for 3rd stage engine(SReTF), a rocket engine ground/high altitude test facility(ReTF, HAReTF) and a propulsion system test complex(PSTC) for KSLV-II is briefly described. The development/qualification tests of engine component, 3rd stage engine system and 75ton-class liquid rocket engine system will be performed in CTF, TPTF, SReTF, ReTF and HAReTF and the development test of $1^{st}/2^{nd}/3^{rd}$ propulsion systems for KSLV-II will be performed in PSTC. The CTF/TPTF are under construction such as ordering the long delivery items and the detailed design of ReTF/PSTC is being prepared.
