Design of Navigation Filter to Improve Tracking Performance in Radar with a Moving Platform (기동 플랫폼 탑재 레이다 추적 성능 향상을 위한 항법 필터 설계)

  • As the radar mounted on a moving platform moves and rotates, the state of the radar's coordinate system also changes. At this time, in order to track target, the target's coordinates should be converted using the platform state measured from the sensor, and tracking performance may deteriorate due to causes such as sensor noise, communication delay, and sensor update cycle. In this paper, to minimize the degradation of tracking performance because of sensor error, we designed a navigation filter to estimate the state of the moving platform and analyzed the effect of improving tracking performance by applying the navigation filter through a simulation test. To design this navigation filter, three filter algorithms were applied and analyzed to confirm the effect of improving platform position and attitude performance for each filter, and the navigation filter designed by applying the highest performance filter algorithm was applied to a tracking simulation test. Finally we confirmed Improvement in tracking performance before and after applying navigation filters.

  • In this paper, we present a tracking accuracy enhancement method by compensating the time delay of the video tracker in an EOTS. The proposed method has two functional parts, which can cope with the time delay of LOS and maneuvering target informations by Smith predictor and Kalman filter. So it can dramatically reduce the tracking error over conventional PI control or Smith predictor control. To verify the proposed method, various and extensive simulation and experimental results are given.

  • 광선추적기법은 사진과 같은 고해상도의 영상을 만들어내는 렌더링 기법중의 하나이다. 이 기법은 이미지를 합성하는데 많은 양의 계산 시간을 필요로 한다. 병렬처리 기법이 광선추적에 계산양의 처리 기간을 감소하기 위하여 사용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 병렬 광선추적 기법을 MPI(Message Passing Interface)를 사용하여 IBM Supercomputer 상에서 노드의 개수의 증가에 따른 속도 향상과 노드간에 전달되는 메시지의 크기에 따른 성능 향상을 실험하였다. 본 논문에서 실험한 병렬 광선 추적 기법으로 IBM SP 시스템 상에서 다양한 영상을 생성하였다. 영상은 분할가능하고 노드에 분배할 수 있기 때문에 병렬화 범주에 들 수 있으며 부하균형을 맞출 수 있다. 실험에서 프로세서수의 증가에 따른 이상적인 속도향상률(Speed-up rate)을 15개의 프로세서를 사용하여 얻을 수 있었다. 광선을 추적하여 영상을 합성해 낼 때 표현하고자 하는 영상이 단순한 객체로 이루어져 있다면 각 노드에 분산해줘야 할 작업의 크기는 복잡한 객체들로 구성된 영상보다 클 때 더 놓은 성능을 나타내었다. 분산작업의 크기가 작아 상대적으로 통신횟수가 증가할 때 렌더링시 효율저하를 나타내었다.

  • 과제 지향 대화 시스템은 발화 의도 및 요구사항을 파악하여 사용자가 원하는 과제를 달성한다는 점에서 유용하다. 대화 상태 추적은 과제 지향 대화 시스템의 핵심 모듈이며, 최근에는 텍스트뿐만 아니라 시각 정보까지 활용하여 대화 상태를 추적하는 멀티모달 대화 상태 추적 연구가 활발히 진행되는 중이다. 본 논문에서는 멀티모달 공황장애 상담 대화 속 내담자의 상태를 추적하는 과제를 제안하였다. ChatGPT를 통한 멀티모달 공황장애 상담 과제 지향 대화 데이터셋 구축 프레임워크와, 구축한 데이터셋의 품질을 증명하기 위한 분석도 함께 제시하였다. 사전학습 언어 모델인 GPT-2를 벤치마크 데이터셋에 대해 학습한 성능을 측정함으로써 향후 멀티모달 대화 추적 성능이 능가해야 할 베이스라인 성능을 제시하였다.

  • This paper proposes an efficient preprocessing technique for a binary centroid tracker in correlated image sequences. It is known that the following factors determine the performance of the binary centroid target tracker: (1) an efficient real-time preprocessing technique, (2) an exact target segmentation from cluttered background images and (3) an intelligent tracking window sizing, and etc. The proposed centroid tracker consists of an adaptive segmentation method based on novel distance features and an efficient real-time preprocessing technique in order to enhance the distinction between the objects of interest and their local background. Various tracking experiments using synthetic images as well as real Forward-Looking InfraRed (FLIR) images are performed to show the usefulness of the proposed methods.

  • The operation of the precision-guided missiles with seekers is becoming more and more dominant since the modern wars became geographically localized like anti-terror campaigns and civil wars. Imaging seekers are relatively low-price and applicable to various operational conditions. The image tracker, however, requires highly advanced method for the target tracking under harsh missile flight condition. Missile roll can reduce the tracking performance since it introduces big differences in imagery. The missile roll is inevitable because of the disturbance and flight control error. Consequently, the errors of the subsystems should be under control for the stable performance of the tracker and the whole system. But the performance prediction by some simple metric is almost impossible since the target signature and the tracker are highly nonlinear. We established M&S tool for a precision-guided missile with imaging seeker and analyzed the roll effects to tracking and system performance. Furthermore, we defined the specification of missile subsystems through error analysis to guarantee system performance.

A Study on Performance Improvement for Acquiring Time of Ship Target through Defining and Analysing the Main Affecting Factors of Tracking Radar (추적레이더의 주요영향인자 정의 및 분석을 통한 대함표적획득시간 성능향상에 관한 연구)

  • The STIR(Signal Tracking & Illumination Radar) in KDX(Korean Destroyer Experimental) combat system acquires target from designating 3-D target information of surveillance radar (MW-08), and The performance of radar is decided by target acquisition time and accuracy of tracking loop because the STIR tracks automatically in accordance with tracking algorithm. In the view of ship, elements related with target acquisition time of the STIR can be various. In this paper the target acquisition time of the STIR is reduced by identifying the elements and suggesting the performance improvement method. The way of performance improvement is suggested through analysing main affecting factors. First, tracking algorism is required for analysis. Second, fitness of parameters that control elements related with acquisition distance is analyzed. And the third, accuracy of ship based sensors is analyzed. In conclusion, acquisition time against ship target can be advanced to 3 seconds from 10 seconds.

  • In this paper, we propose a timing detector using suboptimal maximum likelihood method. The proposed method has an simple reference signal generator. Additionally, timing detector's gain of the proposed method is the same to Early-Late gate and ML method. We reveal that tracking range of time tracker is narrow because of using data-decision, that is, tracking range is ${\pm}0.06ns$ for the 4-order Gaussian monocycle with 0.7ns pulse width. Therefore we can find that searcher must have very accurate acquisition procedure. When estimating a performance of time tracker, we consider a jitter in transmitter and receiver's pulse generation process as well as background noise. By using computer simulation, we propose mean/variance of timing detector and tracking process. Also we consider a mobility in tracking process, i.e., timing error modeled ramp function. In order to propose a performance of time tracker, we consider only one correlation demodulator.

  • Fire Control System(FCS) errors can be classified as hardware errors and software errors, and one of the software errors is from target tracking filter which estimates target's location, velocity, acceleration, and so on. It affects function of ballistic calculation equipment significantly. For gun to form predicted hitting point accurately and enhance hitting rate, we need status information of target's future location. Target tracking filter algorithms consist of Single Singer Model, Fixed Gain filter algorithm, IMM, PBIMM and so on. This paper will design IMM tracking filer, which is going to be! applied to domestic warship. Target tracking filter using CV model, Song model and CRT model for IMM tracking filter is made, and tracking ability is analyzed through Monte-Carlo simulation.

  • This paper presents the improvement of tracking performance using fuzzy inference system based task prioritizations for multi-function radars. The presented technique calculates elemental priorities using track information of a target and obtain the total priority from fuzzy inference system of each fuzzy set's membership function. In this paper, we proposed the task prioritization algorithms based on fuzzy inference system, and evaluated the tracking performance on multi-function radar scenario using it. As a result, we confirmed that excellent performance could be achieved when using the proposed algorithm.
