Consumers' Acceptance and Willingness to Pay for Products with Eco-Friendly Materials in Circular Economy: A Case of Clothing Made with Microplastic Emission-Reducing Materials (순환경제 시대 소비자들의 친환경 소재 제품에 대한 수용성과 지불의사: 미세플라스틱 배출저감 소재의류를 사례로)

  • This study is to investigate consumers' acceptance and their willingness to pay for clothes made of materials with low microplastic emissions as an alternative to synthetic fibers made of plastics by applying the contingent valuation method. A nationwide web-based survey was conducted for 1,052 respondents proportional to region, age, and gender during February 2021. More than 75% of the sample expressed intentions to purchase microplastic emission-reducing clothing instead of synthetic fiber clothing, and more than 80% of them have stated their willingness to pay for additional prices. A variation of Heckman's sample selection model was adopted to estimate factors affecting respondents' intentions to pay for additional prices, in which the probit model of intentions to purchase the clothing with alternative materials was used as a sample selection equation. While respondents were sensitive to the amounts of price increases suggested in the CV scenario, they expressed high acceptance and preferences for eco-friendly materials regardless of the microplastic emission-reducing levels. Consumers in the circular economy were willing to pay for the range of 41,000 to 51,000 won for a pair of clothing made with microplastic emission-reducing materials. In addition, as the microplastic emission-reducing rate has increased from 50% to 80%, the willingness to pay estimates were also significantly increased, ranging from 41,000~50,500 to 42,000~51,700 won.

  • This study investigated the relationship of brand equity of restaurant LOHAS image with altruistic value, LOHAS involvement and additional willingness to pay (WTP). The data collected for this study was taken from a sample of 544 persons during the period of August 1, 2013 to August 31, 2013. The study findings are as follows. First, brand equity and brand association of restaurant LOHAS image had a positive effect on altruistic value, but had no positive effect on brand loyalty and perceived product quality. Second, brand awareness, brand loyalty and brand association of restaurant LOHAS image had a positive effect on LOHAS involvement, but had no significant positive effect on perceived quality. Third, altruistic value was found to have a positive effect on LOHAS involvement. Fourth, altruistic value had a positive effect on additional WTP. Fifth, LOHAS involvement was found to have a significant positive influence on additional WTP. The findings of this study indicate that communication strategies are warranted to emerge environmental friendliness and health targeting population groups that pursue the LOHAS value of restaurants or have a high propensity toward altruism.

  • 기후변화에 대비한 지속가능한 물 관리를 위해 첨단 ICT를 물 관리에 접목한 스마트워터그리드(Smart Water Grid)가 미래 사회의 새로운 패러다임으로 제기되고 있다. 스마트워터그리드를 활용한 안정적인 물공급을 위해서는 다양한 수자원 확보가 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 스마트워터그리드의 편익을 산정하기 위하여 조건부가치평가법을 이용하여 스마트워터그리드 사업을 추진하는데 소요되는 비용과 이를 통하여 생기게 될 경제적 상황을 설명하면서 응답자들에게 기꺼이 추가적으로 지불하고자 하는 금액에 대해 질문하였다. 조사로부터 얻은 정보를 활용하여 과학적인 통계적 분석을 수행함으로써 평균 지불의사를 추정하고 이를 스마트워터그리드 편익으로 산정하였다. 추정결과 2014년 10월 기준으로 스마트워터그리드에 대한 추가지불의사액은 3,514원(원/가구/년)이고 2013년 12월 기준 불변가격으로 환산하면 3,221원(원/가구/년)으로 추정되었다. 2013년 12월 불변가격 기준 스마트워터그리드의 연간 편익은 59,452백만원으로 추정되었다.

Study for Valuing of Residential Water when Drought Conditions (가뭄상황시 생활용수 가치 추정)

  • 최근 잦은 기상이변으로 인한 자연재해는 그 빈도와 강도가 점차 증가하고 있다. 이러한 기상이변은 결국, 극단적인 가뭄이 닥칠 가능성이 농후할 것이고, 만일 극단적인 가뭄상황이 도래할 경우 제한급수 또는 절수로 인한 일반인이 느끼는 피해정도는 매우 늘어날 것이다. 본 연구는 가뭄상황시 제한급수를 고려한 소비자의 지불의사를 알아보고자, 7대 특 광역시와 32개 가뭄상습지역에 거주하는 일반인을 대상으로 생활용수 수요패턴과 가뭄상황을 고려한 생활용수의 가치를 추정하였다. 조사결과, 수돗물 수질 관련에 대해서는 가뭄상습지역보다 7대광역시가 더 민감하였고, 수돗물 수량에 대해서는 가뭄상습지역이 더 민감한 것으로 나타났다, 지불의사 추정은 양분선택형과 개방형을 혼합하여 지불의사액을 설문하였고, Tobit모형을 이용하여 지불의사액을 추정하였다. 추정결과, 교육수준이 높을 수록, 가구수가 많을수록, 소득이 높을수록 지불의사가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 가뭄으로 인해 생활용수의 25% 제한시에는 약 2010원, 50% 제한시에는 2,395원의 추가적인 지불의사가 있는 것으로 추정되었다. 결국, 조사가구의 평균 수돗물 사용량과 절감량등을 추정하여 계산한 결과, 생활용수 25% 제한시 $1m^3$당 추가적인 지불의사 금액은 약 534원으로 추정된다. 지불의사가 기대했던 것보다 낮은 이유는 소비자가 그 정도의 가뭄을 경험하지 못한데서 오는 조세저항으로 여겨진다. 그러나 이 같은 결과는 가뭄을 회피하기 위해 소비자가 기꺼이 지불할 수 있는 비용은 현재의 물 값보다 훨씬 높다는 것을 의미한다. 알 수 있었다.수 없는 실제 방사선작업 환경에서의 선량평가 수행시, 본 논문에서 제시한 선량평가방법을 적용할 경우 계획된 피폭과 예상하지 못한 방사선장에 대한 피폭을 구분할 수 있어 보다 심도 있는 피폭선량평가 및 방사선관리가 가능할 것으로 판단된다.황산기(黃酸基)의 함량은 가장 적었다내고 있었고, in vivo에서는 복강(復腔)(i. p.) 투여(投與)에서는 $12.9{\sim}22.2%$. 경구(經口)(p.o.) 투여(投與)에서는 $11.2{\sim}21.6%$의 높은 활성(活性)을 나타내고 있었다. 단 peroxidase 활성(活性)은 복강(復腔)(i. p.) 투여(投與)에서는 $129.0{\sim}188.6%$, 경구(經口)(p. o.) 투여(投與)에서는 $111.4{\sim}139.6%$의 활성(活性)을 나타내고 있었다.rucic acid를 다량함유(多量含有)하고 있는 목포단교 12는 다른 두 품종(品種)에 비(比)하여 장쇄지방산에 속하는 eicoseuoic acid가 11.7%로 많이 함유(含有)되어 있었다. 그리고 3품종(品種) 모두 중성지질(中性脂質) 획분(劃分)의 지질(脂質)은 전체지방산(全體脂肪酸) 조성(組成)의 비(比)와 별다른 차이(差異)를 나타내지 않았다.수 있으나 본원에서 사용 중인 장비에서 극히 적은 MU의 사용이 현저한 선량적 오차를 유발하진 않는 것으로 사료되어진다. 그러나 정도 관리 시 그 오차를 확인하는 과정은 장비의 사용과 수명에 따라 지속적으로 관리되어져야 할 것이다.>로 평균

Estimating the benefit of constructing the international horse riding arena at Sangju (상주국제승마경기장 사업의 경제적 편익)

  • This study evaluates the economic benefit of the project constructing the international riding arena having been built at Sangju in Gyeongsangbuk-Do by the willingness to pay (WTP) of residents in the province. As the evaluation method, the dichotomous choice contingent valuation method (CVM) is adopted with the additional questions of whether his/her WTP is zero, to improve the statistical accuracy of evaluation results. Considering the arena's administrative location, the population of the surveys for analysis is confined to residents of Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do. The survey is conducted through personal interviews. It turns out that the WTP per household per year is evaluated as 1,847 won and the total yearly benefit of the Sangju international horse riding arena is estimated as 3.56 billion won.

Estimation Study of Willingness to Pay for Low-Floor Seat Buses Introduction (저상 좌석버스 도입에 대한 지불의사금액 추정 연구)

  • The government recently implemented policies to improve transportation for the disabled passengers. On the other hand, metropolitan public transport still lacks adequate services for these individuals. Many new cities lack urban rail lines and focus on high-floor buses for expansion. Wheelchair users can only access to double-decker low-floor seat express buses for intercity travel. This study examined the necessity and rationale for introducing low-floor seat buses by estimating the user's willingness to pay through a contingent valuation method. Two methods for eliciting the willingness to pay were adopted: open-ended and dichotomous choice questions. The binomial logit model was used to estimate the willingness to pay. The results indicated that the general public is willing to pay an additional 126.7 Korean won, while the disabled passengers are willing to pay an additional 117.5 Korean won. When translated into annual economic benefits, this amounts to approximately 35 billion Korean won.

Estimating the Willingness to Pay Admission Fees of Gwacheon National Science Museum: An Application of Contingent Valuation Method (조건부가치추정법을 활용한 국립과천과학관 입장료 지불가치 추정)

  • This study aims to determine the value of the willingness to pay(WTP) admission fees through surveying the level at which visitors to national science museums in Korea are willing to pay for admission fees. The determination helps objectively identify ways to substantially increase admission-based revenues, thereby enhancing managerial efficiency of national science museums. Using the contingent valuation method(CVM), we analyzed the WTP for admission fees of 250 visitors to Gwacheon National Science Museum. The statistical analysis revealed that the average amount of WTP was far higher than the current admission fees(4,000 won for adults and 2,000 won for children and adolescents). WTP of questionnaire respondents was normally distributed at the mean of 8,447 won for adult admission and 6,535 won for non-adult admission to Gwacheon National Science Museum. This result can be used as basic evidence to redetermine admission fees of national science museums and ultimately improve financial vitality.

  • The purposes of this study are to estimate mean willingness to pay (WTP) for preventing forest fires by contingent valuation method (CVM), and to calibrate the variables affecting WTP. The forest fire prevention fund was utilized as a payment vehicle to elicit respondents' willingness to pay (WTP). A total of 500 adults who reside in Seoul Metropolitan area were selected by two-stage cluster sampling and conducted the face-to-face interview. The scenario was designed to meet the requirements for double-bounded dichotomous choice CVM. More than half of the respondents (64.6%) have a willing to pay for the fund. The mean WTP was \4,532. Therefore a total WTP for the population was \34,165,758,000. The calibration of Weibull proportional hazard model showed that education level, environmental conservation intention and negative consciousness about the effect of forest fire were independent variables strongly influencing the WTP.

  • This paper aimed at understanding the effect of infectious disease conditions on willingness to pay for the green roof implemented to reduce the urban heat island. For this purpose, the willingness to pay for the green roof under infectious disease and non-infectious disease conditions was calculated and comparatively analyzed using the contingent valuation method. As a result, there was a statistically significant difference in the willingness to pay according to the infectious disease condition, and it was confirmed that the willingness to pay for the infectious disease condition was lower than the non-infectious disease condition.

  • 7대 특.광역시의 시민 1,000명을 대상으로 생활용수의 수요패턴과 서비스 개선에 대한 지불의사를 추정하였다. 생활수준의 향상으로 정수기나 먹는 샘물을 이용하는 가구가 증가하고 있다. 수도요금에 대해서는 일반적으로 큰 부담을 갖고 있지 않으며 요금 상승시 강한 절수 의지를 보였다. 수돗물이 정수기나 먹는 샘물처럼 안전하다면 소비자는 현재보다 약 16%$(153/m^3)$의 수도요금을 추가적으로 지불할 의사가 있는 것으로 추정되었다. 최근 상수도 수요패턴의 변화는 정부가 더 이상 일방적으로 정책을 수립하는 것이 아니라 수요자의 소비 행태 등의 철저한 분석결과를 정책에 반영함으로써 보다 효율적인 상수도 정책이 수립될 수 있을 것이다.
