  • For the purpose of controlling the beam tilt angle of the base station sector array antenna, phase shifter is used. Phase angles of this antenna depending on the tilt angles are designed, and the patterns on the vertical and horizontal planes are simulated and analyzed for the evaluation of base station antenna. This analysis is used in the optimal design of base station antenna because of maximum cell coverage and incremented traffic capacity, decreased interference.

Design and Analysis of Efficient Operation Sequencing in FMC Robot Using Simulation and Sequential Patterns (시뮬레이션과 순차 패턴을 이용한 FMC 로봇의 효율적 작업 순서 설계 및 분석)

  • This paper suggested the method to design and analyze FMC robot's dispatching rule using the Simulation and Sequential Patterns. To do this, first of all, we built FMC using simulation and then, extracted signals that facilities call a robot, saved it as the log type. Secondly, we built robot's optimal path using the Sequential Pattern Mining with the results of analyzing the log and relationship between machine and robot actions. Lastly, we adapted it to the A corp.'s manufacturing line for verifying its performance. As a result of applying the new dispatching rule in FMC, total throughput and total flow time decrease because of decreasing material loss time and increasing robot utility. Furthermore, because this method can be applied for every manufacturing plant using simulation, it can contribute to advance total FMC efficiency as well.

  • In general, the information processing capability of a neural network is determined by its architecture and efficient training patterns. However, there is no systematic method for designing neural network and selecting effective training patterns. Evolutionary Algorithms(EAs) are referred to as the methods of population-based optimization. Therefore, EAs are considered as very efficient methods of optimal system design because they can provide much opportunity for obtaining the global optimal solution. In this paper, we propose a new method for finding the optimal structure of neural networks based on competitive co-evolution, which has two different populations. Each population is called the primary population and the secondary population respectively. The former is composed of the architecture of neural network and the latter is composed of training patterns. These two populations co-evolve competitively each other, that is, the training patterns will evolve to become more difficult for learning of neural networks and the architecture of neural networks will evolve to learn this patterns. This method prevents the system from the limitation of the performance by random design of neural networks and inadequate selection of training patterns. In co-evolutionary method, it is difficult to monitor the progress of co-evolution because the fitness of individuals varies dynamically. So, we also introduce the measurement method. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed method are inspected by applying it to the visual servoing of robot manipulators.

  • Since wireless Internet services and small mobile communication devices come into wide use as well as the use of GPS is rapidly growing, researches on moving object, whose location information shifts sequently in accordance with time interval, are being carried out actively. Especially, the researches on vehicle moving object are applied to Advanced traveler information system, vehicle tracking system, and distribution transport system. These systems are very useful in searching previous positions, predicted future positions, the optimum course, and the shortest course of a vehicle by managing historical data of the vehicle movement. In addition, vehicle historical data are used for distribution transport plan and vehicle allocation. Vehicle historical data are stored at regular intervals, which can have a pattern. For example, a vehicle going repeatedly around a specific section follows a route very similar to another. If historical data of the vehicle with a repeated route course are stored at regular intervals, many redundant data occur, which result in much waste of storage. Therefore this thesis suggest a vehicle historical data store scheme for vehicles with a repeated route course using similar trajectory which efficiently store vehicle historical data.

  • 수많은 이동 노드가 존재하는 유비쿼터스 환경에서 위치 기반 서비스가 중요한 응용 분야로 부상하고 있다. 효율적인 위치 기반 서비스를 제공하기 위해 브로드캐스팅을 이용한 다양한 기법들이 연구 되었지만, 대부분 효율적인 인덱스 구축에 대한 연구이고, 브로드캐스팅 데이터의 크기를 줄이기 위한 기법은 고려되지 않았다. 이에 본 논문에서는 최근 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있는 센서 네트워크와 브로드캐스팅 기법을 활용하여, 객체의 이동 패턴을 고려한 데이터 분산 브로드캐스팅 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법을 수행하기 위한 기반 인프라를 구축하기 위해 도로 네트워크 기반의 센서 클러스터링 기법을 제안하고, 센서 노드에 의해 측정 된 객체의 이동 정보를 기반으로 한 최적의 데이터 분산 브로드캐스팅 기법을 적용한다.

  • 현재의 센서네트워크 환경은 자원사용의 효율화를 위한 제어시스템의 지원이 필수적으로 요구된다. 본 논문은 이동에이전트 기반의 데이터 획득기능, Zigbee 기반 데이터 통신기능, 연산 및 능동규칙 처리기능 등을 지원하는 분산제어 프레임워크를 제안함으로써, 센서네트워크 환경에서 무선방식의 분산된 장치들의 자율제어를 통한 효율적 분산제어시스템 구축에 적용하도록 한다. 제안 프레임워크는 환경 변화, 사용자의 행동 변화 및 이상 패턴 탐지 등에 따른 최적 제어를 기반으로 하는 스마트 전력서비스 개발과 수요자의 요구에 자율적 지능적으로 반응하는 수요반응 서비스 개발에 적용이 가능하다.

  • We propose hybrid-sensing system for human tracking. This system uses laser scanners and image sensors and is applicable to wide and crowded area such as hallway of university. Concretely, human tracking using laser scanners is at base and image sensors are used for human identification when laser scanners lose persons by occlusion, entering room or going up stairs. We developed the method of human identification for this system. Our method is following: 1. Best-shot images (human images which show human feature clearly) are obtained by the help of human position and direction data obtained by laser scanners. 2. Human identification is conducted by calculating the correlation between the color histograms of best-shot images. It becomes possible to conduct human identification even in crowded scenes by estimating best-shot images. In the experiment in the station, some effectiveness of this method became clear.

  • This paper presents hybrid antenna(HA) design based on shaped reflector for mobile satellite communication. HA is composed of a shaped reflector and a feeder having $1{\times}8$ linear phased array, and reflector shaping method is applied for the performance optimization with minimum aperture size. And, in the feeder design, HA has another merit to minimize the manufacturing cost by optimizing the number of element. Proposed HA is designed at Ka-band and can electrically control a beam pattern within ${\pm}3^{\circ}$ in the basic angle of $+45^{\circ}$ in elevation. This antenna is designed to meet ITU-R S.465-5 for beam pattern including side-lobe level.

  • This paper proposes a method to learn action patterns of opponent characters for intelligent characters. For learning action patterns, intelligent characters learn the past actions as well as the current actions of opponent characters. Therefore, intelligent characters react more properly than ones without the knowledge on action patterns. In addition, this paper proposes a method to learn moving actions whose fitness is hard to evaluate. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we experiment with four repeated action patterns in a game similar to real games. The results show that intelligent characters learn the optimal actions for action patterns and react properly against to random action opponent characters. The proposed method can be applied to various games in which characters confront each other, e.g. massively multiple of line games.

  • In this paper, a simple but effective position profile generation algorithm for single axis high dynamic linear machine drive system is presented. In the recent industrial application fields like as LCD/PDP and semiconductor factory, requirements for the high performance positioning system with optimal position profile generator are highly increased to reduce the overall processing time. There might be various solutions for position profile generating algorithm according to the application type. A square-wave Impact quantity(Jerk) based algorithm with minimal locomotion time is argued in this paper to minimize the total time of one movement under some specific constrains such as maximum speed limit and maximum acceleration limit. In order to reduce the calculation efforts and satisfy the minimal locomotion time condition, the time variants representing each profile sector and a simple condition comparison algorithm are adopted. Also, the actual implementation method for profile generation algorithm and it's real performance results are presented through commercial linear machine drive system.
