Implementation of the SIMT based Image Signal Processor for the Image Processing (영상처리를 위한 SIMT 기반 Image Signal Processor 구현)

  • In this paper, we proposed SIMT based Image Signal Processor which can apply various image preprocessing algorithms and allow parallel processing of application programs such as image recognition. Conventional ISP has the hard-wired image enhancement algorithm of which the processing speed is fast, but there was difficult to optimize performance depending on various image processing algorithms. The proposed ISP improved the processing time applying SIMT architecture and processed a variety of image processing algorithms as an instruction based processor. We used Xilinx Virtex-7 board and the processing time compared to cell multicore processor, ARM Cortex-A9, ARM Cortex-A15 was reduced by about 71 percent, 63 percent and 33 percent, respectively.

Convergence Analysis on The Determinants of Reuse Intention in Patients Visiting a Dentist (치과 내원 환자들의 재이용 의사에 영향을 미치는 결정요인에 관한 융합 분석)

  • The purpose of this study, is to identify the factors affecting reuse intention, determine the accurate demand of suppliers and consumers for qualitative dental care service, and identify the cyclic factors positively affecting one another. The data were analyzed by SPSSWIN 18.0, t-test and one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and Stepwise multiple regression. Human service quality was significantly positively correlated with service value (r=0.609) and reuse intention (r=0.627) and service value was significantly positively correlated with reuse intention (r=0.645). The higher service value, the higher human service quality, the lower medical service discrimination, the higher level of reuse intention, which accounted for 56.9%. Therefore, it is necessary to make optimal maintenance of the system from the broad viewpoint of dental care in general and apply it in practice by developing good methods steadily.

Design of Mobile Handset Chip Antenna with a Backside Ground for Wi-Fi Application (후면 그라운드를 이용한 휴대단말 Wi-Fi 칩 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, a new small chip antenna for Wi-Fi application of the mobile handset is proposed. To miniaturize the chip antenna, the proposed antenna is designed to have the backside ground. The proposed antenna has S-shaped structure, which is designed on the LCP(Liquid Crystal Polymer) with ${\varepsilon}_r$=3.5. The size of the proposed antenna is $6.0mm{\times}2.5mm{\times}1.2mm$. The measured impedance bandwidth under a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 2 was 300 MHz(fractional bandwidth: 12.2 % 2.3~2.6 GHz), and peak gain is 1.42 dBi. The proposed antenna was designed using CST Microwave Studio commercial software tool. And the fabricated antenna is measured using a network analyzer and in anechoic chamber.

An Economic Feasibility Study of Wind-Diesel Hybrid Power Systems for an Island in the Yellow Sea (서해 도서지역의 풍력-디젤 하이브리드 발전에 대한 경제성 분석)

  • In this paper, an economic feasibility study of wind-diesel hybrid power systems for an island in the Yellow Sea, where the maximum power generation is about 500kW, was performed. For the study, annual electric load variation and wind resource data of the island were collected and analyzed. HOMER program - a typical hybrid optimization model for electric renewables including wind resource, developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory - was used. Wind speed and diesel price were picked out as variables for the sensitivity analysis in order to find the economic accountability for the wind-diesel hybrid power system. As the result, even though it is not feasible economically under the present condition, if mean wind speed is over 3 m/sec. or diesel price goes up to 2.4 $ per liter, the wind-diesel hybrid power system for the island becomes a prospective candidate.

A Study on the 'Extended' DSM Programs in Korean LNG Market (산업용 천연가스 수요관리 프로그램 최적화를 위한 동태적 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구)

  • This paper summarizes the results of a study that assess how a demand side management (DSM) system addresses key economic and environmental challenges facing in the Korean natural gas sector considering; ${\bullet}$ high discrepancies of seasonal consumption volume and of load factor in unmatured domestic LNG market, ${\bullet}$ unfavorable and volatile international LNG market, imposing with the contestable "take-or-pay" contract terms, ${\bullet}$ low profile of LNG and existence of market barriers against an optimal fuel mix status in the industrial energy sector. A particular focus of this study is to establish an 'extended' DSM system in the unmatured gas market, especially in industry sector, that could play a key role to assure an optimum fuel mix scheme. Under the concept of 'extended' DSM, a system dynamics modeling approach has been introduced to explore the option to maximize economic benefits in terms of the national energy system optimization, entailing different ways of commitments accounting for different DSM measures and time delay scenarios. The study concludes that policy options exist that can reduce inefficiencies in gas industry and end-use system at no net costs to national economy. The most scenarios find that, by the year 2015, it is possible to develop a substantial potential of increased industrial gas end-uses under more reliable and stable load patterns. Assessment of sensitivity analysis suggests that time delay factor, in formulating DSM scenarios, plays a key role to overcome various market barriers in domestic LNG market and provides a strong justification for the policy portfolios 'just in time' (time accurateness), which eventually contribute to establish an optimum fuel mix strategy. The study indicates also the needs of advanced studies based on SD approach to articulate uncertainty in unmatured energy market analysis, including gas.

  • 박(朴)(1982, 1983, 1984 및 1985)이 개발(開發)한 배합사료공장(配合飼料工場)의 투자비용(投資費用) 및 운전비용(運轉費用)의 수학적모형(數學的模型)을 이용(利用)하여, 배합사료공장(配合飼料工場)의 적정(適正) 시스템의 설계(設計)를 예(例)를 들어 소개하였다. 적정(適正)시스템의 설계(設計)를 위(爲)하여 비선형(非線型) 프로그램의 "Single Objective Programming Problem(단일목적함수(單一目的函數))"와 "'Multiple Objective Decision Making Method(다목적함수(多目的函數))"의 2가지 방법(方法)을 적용(適用)하였다. Single Objective Programming Problem에서는 "Generalized Reduced Gradient(GRG) Method"를 이용(利用)하였고, Multiple Objective Decision Making Method(MODM)에서는 "Interactive Nonlinear Goal Program(INGP)"를 이용(利用)하였으며 그 결과(結果)는 다음의 몇가지로 요약(要約)할 수 있다. 1. 박(朴)이 개발(閒發)한 수학적(數學的) 모형(模型)들은 2 가지 방법(方法) 모두 사료공장(飼料工場)의 최적화(最適化) 설계(設計)에 효과적으로 이용(利用)할 수가 있었다. 2. MODM방법(方法)에 의(依)하여 얻어진 최적(最適)시스템은 Single Objective Program Problem에서 구(求)한 결과(結果)보다 균형(均衡)이 있는 시스템이었으며 장래(將來)의 사료원료(飼料原料), 사료구매시장(飼料購買市場), 기타 다른 조건(條件)들의 변화)에 대(對)해서 보다 탄력(彈力)이 있는 시스템으로 나타났다. 3. 엄밀한 의미(意味)에서 절대적(絶對的)인 최적사료공장(最適飼料工場)이란 있을 수 없으며, 주위의 조건(條件), 원료가격(原料價格), 사료가격(飼料價格), 공장주(工場主)의 취향 및 설계조건등(設計條件等)에 따라 최적(最適) 시스템은 각각(各各) 다르게 나타난다.

Design of an Asynchronous eFuse One-Time Programmable Memory IP of 1 Kilo Bits Based on a Logic Process (Logic 공정 기반의 비동기식 1Kb eFuse OTP 메모리 IP 설계)

  • We propose a low-power eFuse one-time programmable (OTP) memory cell based on a logic process. The eFuse OTP memory cell uses separate transistors optimized at program and read mode, and reduces an operation current at read mode by reducing parasitic capacitances existing at both WL and BL. Asynchronous interface, separate I/O, BL SA circuit of digital sensing method are used for a low-power and small-area eFuse OTP memory IP. It is shown by a computer simulation that operation currents at a logic power supply voltage of VDD and at I/O interface power supply voltage of VIO are 349.5${\mu}$A and 3.3${\mu}$A, respectively. The layout size of the designed eFuse OTP memory IP with Dongbu HiTek's 0.18${\mu}$m generic process is 300 ${\times}$557${\mu}m^2$.

  • Bicycle is one of the most popular mode of transport due to the increase of interest in the well-being and environment pollution. Before fabricating a continuously variable transmission that is applied to the actual bicycle, for reducing the problems in the early stage, the reliable simulation program has been applied and the financial problem can be solved. In this paper, in order to confirm the design factor, the stress analysis has been applied. In all models, each link and the joint portion are assumed to be a major design factors, and impact of each link and joints received stress during the operation and it is confirmed by using the CAE. Also, for the analysis region, the special code has been developed to calculate pulsation phenomenon through appropriate mathematical modeling.

Design of Improved UI of Automatic Parking Management System using License Plate Recognition (번호판 인식을 통한 자동 주차관리 시스템의 개선된 UI 설계)

  • Recently, due to advances in both imaging technology and ICT, various types of image processing services became available and the application services of these two technologies are diversifying. Recognition of vehicle license plates is used in places where vehicle information is needed such as in parking management. However, existing systems have economic disadvantages like issuing parking tickets and attaching unnecessary equipment. In order to solve these problems, we designed and implemented automatic parking management system through recognition of vehicle license plates by using emguCV that is based on OpenCV. Additionally, we designed improved UI to handle the entire parking management situation which include information such as details of each parking vehicle, parking time and remaining parking spaces without screen movement. This improved UI is implemented with the use of WPF which is the latest technology in user program development. The emguCV used in this paper showed the most optimized performance in Intel based environment. With it, we obtained the result of within 0.5 seconds of recognition processing time and over 90% of recognition rate. Through improved UI, the manager could both simply and intuitively manage the entire system.

I2DM : An Improved Identity Management Protocol for Internet Applications in Mobile Networks (모바일 네트워크에서 인터넷 응용을 위한 향상된 ID관리 프로토콜)

  • Due to rapid spread of smart phones and SNS(Social Network Service), using of Internet applications has increased and taking up bandwidth more than 3G network's capacity recently. This caused reduction of speed and service quality, and occurred strong needs that backbone network company to increasing investment costs. Also a great rise of mobile network users causing identity management problems on mobile service provider through mobile network. This paper proposes advanced IDM3G[1] - to solve user ID management and security problems on mobile internet application services over 3G network and more - authentication management protocol. $I^2DM$ protocol breakup loads which made by existing IDM3G protocol's mutual authentication via mobile operator, via sending some parts to internet application service provider, enhancing mobile and ID management of service provider and network load and process load from information handling and numbers of transmitting packets, to suggest more optimized protocol against further demanding of 3G mobile network.
