  • Recently developed aircrafts use Fly-By-Wire(FBW) or Fly-By-Light(FBL) system. These systems have some merits; they can perform very complicated missions, they can expand the flight region and improve the reliability of the aircrafts. With the development of flight control systems that use FBW technique, flight envelope protection concept is introduced to guarantee reliability of the aircraft and improve the efficiency of mission achievement. In this study, flight envelope protection system is designed using a dynamic trim algorithm, a peak response estimation, and a gain scheduling technique. The performance of these methods are compared by performing numerical simulation.

  • The DBS system is being highlighted as actual area for the information societics. Specially, the DBS have been proposed very useful system to access the broading service in more widely sea. But the antenna tracking system for maritime DBS receiving is requried complicated control system because of the those complex motion represented pitching, rolling and yowing etc. Our resesrch target is a development of tracking system to the KOREASEA(MUGUNGWHA-1,2) for the applicated small size shipping. So our development focus was concentrated the two development direction. The first focus was represented low-cost system for popularization of small-size shipping around sea of the Korea peninsula. The second focus was an adaptive possibilities with domestic eqdupiment which was developed satellite receiving for KOREASAT. The anntenna mount is designed a compact size and easy operation use to the Az/El 2-axis type which is operated by step motor. And this mount type is very useful on a ship in the near sea of Korea peninsula. Basic tracking method is used th step-tracking algorithm, and the ship's moving compensation is adapted to the closed loop control method by ship's moving detection of gyro sensor. Control part is consists of converter, countertime, VCO, micro-computer and it's software. Testing the operation by the ship's moving simulator, and algorithm is designed tracking and moving compensation by receiving state.

  • Recently, around the world, active development of new renewable energy sources including solar power, waves, and fuel cells, etc. has taken place. Particularly, floating offshore wind farms have been developed for saving costs through large scale production, using high-quality wind power and minimizing noise damage in the ocean area. The development of floating wind farms requires an evaluation of the Maritime Safety Audit Scheme under the Maritime Safety Act in Korea. Floating wind farms shall be assessed by applying the line and area concept for systematic development, management and utilization of specified sea water. The development of appropriate evaluation methods and standards is also required. In this study, proper standards for marine traffic surveys and assessments were established and a systemic treatment was studied for assessing marine spatial area. First, a marine traffic data collector using AIS or radar was designed to conduct marine traffic surveys. In addition, assessment methods were proposed such as historical tracks, traffic density and marine traffic pattern analysis applying the line and area concept. Marine traffic density can be evaluated by spatial and temporal means, with an adjusted grid-cell scale. Marine traffic pattern analysis was proposed for assessing ship movement patterns for transit or work in sea areas. Finally, conceptual design of a Marine Traffic and Safety Assessment Solution (MaTSAS) was competed that can be analyzed automatically to collect and assess the marine traffic data. It could be possible to minimize inaccurate estimation due to human errors such as data omission or misprints through automated and systematic collection, analysis and retrieval of marine traffic data. This study could provides reliable assessment results, reflecting the line and area concept, according to sea area usage.

  • In optical scanning holography, 3-D holographic information of an object is generated by 2-D active optical scanning. The optical scanning beam can be a time-dependent Gaussian apodized Fresnel zone plate. In this technique, the holographic information manifests itself as an electrical signal which can be sent to an electron-beam-addressed spatial light modulator for coherent image reconstruction. This technique can be applied to 3-D optical remote sensing especially for identifying flying objects. In this paper, we first briefly review optical scanning holography and analyze the resolution achievable with the system. We then present mathematical expression of real and virtual image which are responsible for holographic image reconstruction by using Gaussian beam profile.

  • Korean e-Navigation is a system that introduced to reduce maritime accidents. In order to reduce marine accidents, Korean e-Navigation provides the following services-"Vulnerable Vessel Monitoring", "Vulnerable Vessel support & monitoring", "Optimal safety route", "ENC Streaming for Small Vessel", "Tug & Barge Support", "Maritime Safety Information Providing". Each Service is a system separated into finctional units and integrated into Korean e-Navigation. Korean e-Navigation is introducing data middleware to integrate each service and the DDS(Data Distribution Service) is judged to be effective. Thus, this paper analyzed the characteristics of DDS middleware types suitable for each service of e-Navigation.

  • The Main object of this research is directed to LG Oil company harbor in kwangyang-hang, where various ships ranging from 300 ton to 48000ton DWT use seven berths in the harbor. This harbor suffered from inefficient and unsafe management procedures since it is difficult to set guidelines for arrival and departure of ships according to the weather conditions and the current guidelines dose not offer clear basis of its implications. Therefore, it has long been suggested that these guidelines should be improved. This paper proposes a decision-support system, which can quantitatively decide the possibility of entry or departure on a harbor by analyzing the weather conditions (wind, current, and wave) and taking account of factors such as harbor characteristics, ship characteristics, weight condition, and operator characteristics. This system has been verified using 5$_{th}$ and 7$_{th}$ berth in Kwangyang-hang harbor. Machine learning technique using genetic programming(GP) is introduced to the system to quantitatively decide and produce results about the possibility of entry or arrival, and weighted linear associative memory (WLAM) method is also used to reduce the amount of calculation the GP has to perform. Group of additive genetic programming trees (GAGPT) is also used to improve learning performance by making it easy to find global optimum.mum.
