Development of amorphous Si solar cell with narrow band gap for Tandem cell (Tandem cell 적용을 위한 narrow band gap을 갖는 a-Si 태양전지 개발)

  • 실리콘 박막 태양전지의 효율을 향상시키기 위해 밴드갭이 다른 흡수층을 적용한 tandem형 적층 태양전지를 이용하고 있다. 일반적으로 1.7eV이상의 밴드갭이 큰 비정질 실리콘을 이용하여 단파장의 빛을 흡수하고, 상대적으로 낮은 1.1eV 정도의 밴드갭을 갖는 미세결정 실리콘 층으로 장파장을 흡수하게 된다. 이렇게 연결된 tandem형 태양전지의 효율을 극대화하기 위해서는 각 태양전지에서 발생하는 전류 밀도를 일치시키는 것이 필요하다. 이를 위해 비정질 실리콘의 두께가 증가되는 경우가 있는데 이러한 경우 비정질 실리콘의 광열화 특성(Lihgt-induced degradation)으로 안정화 효율이 감소하게 된다. 따라서 비정질 실리콘 태양전지의 전류 밀도를 향상 시켜 두께를 최소화하는 것이 매우 중요하다. Tandem형 태양전지에서 비정질 실리콘 태양전지의 전류 밀도를 향상시키기 위해 두 개의 전지사이에 광 반사층을 적용하여 태양전지를 제조하게 된다. 이러한 경우 비정질 실리콘의 전류 밀도는 증가하지만, 광 반사 층의 장파장 흡수로 인하여 하부 태양전지의 전류 밀도 감소가 더 커지게 되어 전체 발생 전류 밀도는 오히려 감소하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 비정질 실리콘의 밴드갭을 제어하여 광 흡수 파장 영역 확대로 전류 밀도를 향상시키는 연구를 진행하였다. PECVD의 RF power 조건을 제어하여 1.75eV에서 1.67eV까지 밴드갭을 변화시켰다. 이와 같은 조건의 박막을 광 흡수층으로 갖는 p-i-n 구조의 비정질 실리콘 태양전지를 제작하였다. i층의 밴드갭이 감소됨에 따라 장파장 영역의 흡수가 확대되어 전류 밀도가 증가 하였지만, Voc의 감소가 컸다. 이는 i층의 밴드갭이 좁아짐에 따라 p층과의 불연속성이 커졌기 때문이다. 이러한 악영향을 줄이기 위해 p층과 i층 사이에 buffer층을 삽입하여 태양전지를 제작하였다. 이와 같은 최적의 buffer층 삽입을 통하여 불연속성을 줄임으로써 Voc의 상승효과를 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과로 좁은 밴드갭을 갖는 광 흡수 층을 적용하여 전류 밀도를 향상시키고, 최적화된 buffer층 삽입으로 Voc를 향상시킴으로써 고효율의 비정질 실리콘 태양전지를 제작하였다. 이를 tandem형 태양전지에 적용할 경우 초기 효율뿐만 아니라 얇은 두께에서 제조할 수 있기 때문에 광열화 특성이 향상되어 안정화 효율의 증가를 가져올 수 있다.

A Study on Multiband FTN Method for Improving Throughput Efficiency (전송 효율 향상을 위한 다중 밴드 FTN 기법 연구)

  • FTN method which transmits signals faster the Nyquist rate is representative method for improving throughput efficiency sacrificed performance due to inter-symbol interference. To compensate performance loss, in this paper, we propose a multiband FTN method which split the coded bits into several bands and transmits signals applying FTN method. As coded bits are being assigned different bands, number of samples per bit of each band is increased, it induced performance improvement by noise averaging effect. In the simulations, compared the performance of single band FTN method and multiband FTN method when the interference rate is 25%. The results of simulation show the performance of proposed method is better than that of single band FTN one by 0.3dB~0.5dB.

  • Generally, echo cancelers of a TV conference system or a audio conference system are to carry out a real time processing in the case of the closed room having long reverberation time because the system requires much time to modify filter coefficients to environmental changes. Therefore this paper proposes a new subband adaptive filtering method using polyphase filter banks of MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) audio system to solve the problems. This method divides signal spectra of input and output into several frequency bands, and each band is adaptively filtered by using ES-NLMS (Exponential Step-Normalized Least Mean Square) algorithm. The optimal number of subband is determined by computational simulations. According to the results of simulation, ERLE of the subband model is 2dB smaller than general full band, calculation rate's of the subband model is decreased about 88%.

  • Unlike or common images, Hyperspectral images were taken by continuous electromagnetic spectral into numerous bands according to wavelengths and are high-capacity high-resolution images. It has more information than ordinary images, so it is used to explore objects and materials. To reduce the amount of information in hyper-spectral images to be processed, band selection is utilized. Existing band selection techniques are heuristic techniques based on statistics, which take a long time and often lack generality and universality. To compensate for this, this paper utilizes quantization concept to draw representative bands through Discrete Range, we use them for band selection algorithm. Experimental results showed that the proposed technique performed much faster than conventional band selection methods, and that the performance accuracy was similar to that of the original even though the number of bands was reduced by one-seventh to one-tenth.

  • In underwater communications, to compensate performance degradation induced from rapidly changing channel transfer characteristic, multi-band communication method which allocate the same data to different frequency bands is used. However, the multi-band configuration may have worse performance than the single-band one because performance degradation in a particular band affects the output from the entire bands. This problem can be solved through a receiving end that analyzes error rates of each band, sets threshold values and allocates lower weights to inferior bands. Therefore, this paper proposed a weighting algorithm based on estimated Bit Error Rate (BER) which analyzes reliability of received data based on the performance difference between demodulated and decoded data. Employing turbo codes with coding rate of 1/3, we evaluate the performance of the proposed weighted multi-band transmission model in real underwater environments based on optimal simulation parameters. Through the sea trial experiment, we confirmed error performance was improved by applying the proposed weighting algorithm.

  • Piezo Film Sensor를 이용하여 팔뚝의 상완 동맥에서 맥박 측정을 위한 센서부 최적 구조에 관한 연구를 하였다. 탈부착이 쉬운 팔뚝형 밴드 형태에 Piezo Film Sensor를 삽입하여 생체 신호를 측정 하였다. 센서부의 최적 구조를 알기 위해서 센서패드 구조물의 형태에서 매질 및 두께를 변화시켜 가면서 생체 신호의 크기를 비교하였다.

Development of suspended solid concentration measurement technique based on multi-spectral satellite imagery in Nakdong River using machine learning model (기계학습모형을 이용한 다분광 위성 영상 기반 낙동강 부유 물질 농도 계측 기법 개발)

  • Suspended Solids (SS) generated in rivers are mainly introduced from non-point pollutants or appear naturally in the water body, and are an important water quality factor that may cause long-term water pollution by being deposited. However, the conventional method of measuring the concentration of suspended solids is labor-intensive, and it is difficult to obtain a vast amount of data via point measurement. Therefore, in this study, a model for measuring the concentration of suspended solids based on remote sensing in the Nakdong River was developed using Sentinel-2 data that provides high-resolution multi-spectral satellite images. The proposed model considers the spectral bands and band ratios of various wavelength bands using a machine learning model, Support Vector Regression (SVR), to overcome the limitation of the existing remote sensing-based regression equations. The optimal combination of variables was derived using the Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) and weight coefficients for each variable of SVR. The results show that the 705nm band belonging to the red-edge wavelength band was estimated as the most important spectral band, and the proposed SVR model produced the most accurate measurement compared with the previous regression equations. By using the RFE, the SVR model developed in this study reduces the variable dependence compared to the existing regression equations based on the single spectral band or band ratio and provides more accurate prediction of spatial distribution of suspended solids concentration.

  • We propose optimal contexts for context-adaptive coding of stereo parameters in parametric stereo (PS) of enhanced aacPlus. For the quantized indexes of stereo parameters, 8 context candidates were proposed based on the index values and their combinations adjacent to a source index in the time-stereo band domain, where the time-stereo band region was further divided into 4 regions based on refresh/non-refresh frames and stereo bands. The optimal contexts for each region were proposed by experiments, which are expected to be used for context-adaptive coding of PS for improved performance.

  • 본 논문은 이미지 데이터의 효율적인 코딩에 대한 새로운 방법을 나타낸다. 웨이블릿 변환을 기초로 한, 알고리즘은 서브밴드 간의 남아 있는 상관관계를 이용한다. 웨이블릿 계수들에 대한 성공적인 대략값은 계층적인 심볼 스트림을 초래하고, 그것은 PSD(의미있는 자손에 대한 예언)과 함께 매우 높게 압축된다. 코딩 알고리즘은 이미지 컨텐트에 대한 높은 적응성에 의해 그 자체를 구별한다. 초래하는 비트스트림은 그것들의 중요도에 대한 순서에 있어서 모든 이미지 정보를 구성한다. 그러므로 그것은 위험한 디코딩 과정 없이 어떤 지점에서 절단하는 것이 가능하다. 이러한 내장된 비트스트림의 이점은 공간적인 규모성(scalability)과 왜곡율이다. 좀 더 나은 향상은 웨이블릿 패킷으로 알려진 새로운 적응적인 웨이블릿 변환을 사용하여 획득된다. 초기의 기법들과 적합하지 않은 현재의 서브밴드에 대한 관련성있는 통계적인 특성들(특히 상관관계)은 처음으로 분석된다. 그것들에 의존하는, 서브밴드가 분해 유무에 관계없이 분해 결정이 만들어진다. 이러한 결과는 최고의 기본적인 선택이 아니고 최적에 가까운 분해 구조를 초래한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 모델의 가장 주요한 이점은 계산적인 비용의 축소이다.

Performance Analysis of Spread Spectrum Underwater Communication Method Based on Multiband (다중 밴드 기반 대역 확산 수중통신 기법 성능분석)

  • Covertness and performance are very important design goals in the underwater communications. To satisfy both of them, we proposed efficient underwater communication model which combined multiband and direct sequence spread spectrum method in order to improve performance and covertness simultaneously. Turbo coding method with 1/3 coding rates is used for channel coding algorithm, and turbo equalization method which iterately exchange probabilistic information between equalizer and decoder is used for receiver side. After optimal threshold value was set in Rake processing, this paper analyzed the performance by varying the number of chips were 8, 16, 32 and the number of bands were from 1 to 4. Through the simulation results, we confirmed that the performance improvement was obtained by increasing the number of bands and chips. 2~3 dB of performance gain was obtained when the number of chips were increased in same number of bands.
