Objectives : To study trends in complementary medical therapy for the allergic rhinitis. This study analyzed research on allergic rhinitis in PubMed. Methods : We searched PubMed related to complementary medical therapy for allergic rhinitis. We analyzed 25 research papers and examined published journals, years countries, and their methods, objectives, results, interventions, participants, periods and instruments of assessment. Results : The method of studies was mostly randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. There were research papers concerning treatment and prevention with herbal medicine, acupuncture, diet, etc. There were more positive results compared to negative results for treatment and prevention. Most studies were carried out during the winter/spring period. The median for number of participants was 90.54 persons. Diagnostic criteria for enrolment were nasal symptoms, allergic skin test, serum, nasal discharge allergen specific IgE eosinophil, etc. Assessment for outcomes were nasal symptoms, serum, nasal discharge allergen specific IgE eosinophil and Quality of Life Questionnaire. Conclusions : It is necessary to study effects of acupuncture and herb medicines for allergic rhinitis and more in-depth research about trends in complementary medical therapy for allergic rhinitis.

In this article, we will summarize recent advances in ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) during the last decade. Leading STM groups have finished or are constructing UHV milli-Kelvin high magnetic field STM capable of a few tens of milli-Kelvin and ~ 10 tesla. Applications with UHV sub-Kelvin high magnetic STM have been increased since mid-2000's. Active research using UHV low temperature tuning fork atomic force microscopes and UHV photon low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopes will be introduced. Considering these advances of UHV low-temperature STM we will discuss next trend in STM in the near future.

This study intended to make new suggestions by clarifying usefulness of analysis methodology for the intellectual structure of disciplines, which combines author co-citation analysis and author bibliographic coupling analysis. It also aimed to identify the recent research trend and key researchers recently doing research activities actively as well as the intellectual structure in the field of social welfare. It was found to be more efficient to conduct both author co-citation analysis and author bibliographic coupling analysis in order to identify traditional sub-areas of disciplinary subject or the research trend of actual researchers in examining the intellectual structure of a specific discipline.

게임의 재미요소를 증대 시키고, 게임 생명주기(Life-Cycle)를 늘어나게 하기 위해 다양한 방법이 연구 중이다. 현실감 있는 그래픽 효과와 뛰어난 음향 효과 등과 함께 게임 플레이어의 게임 스타일이 반영된 게임을 만들기 위한 방법이 대표적이 예라 할 수 있다. 그 중 게임 플레이어의 스타일을 게임에 다시 이용하기 위해서는 플레이어의 인지과정이 요구되며, 인지된 결과를 이용하여 플레이어를 모델링(User Modeling)한다. 하지만, 게임의 종류와 특성에 따라 다양한 게임이 존재하기 때문에 플레이어를 모델링하기 어렵다는 문제를 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 게임에서 정의된 FSM(Finite State machine)을 이용하여 플레이어가 선택한 행동 패턴을 분석하고 적용하는 방법과 다양한 게임에서 이용 할 수 있는 스크립트 형태의 NPC 행동 패턴 변경 방법을 제안한다. 플레이어의 데이터를 분석하여 얻은 결과는 FSM을 변경하여 새로운 행동을 보이는 NPC(Non-Player Characters)를 생성하는데 사용되며, 이 캐릭터는 게임의 특성과 플레이어의 최신 행동 패턴 경향을 학습한 적용형 NPC라 할 수 있다. 실험을 통하여 사용자의 행동과 유사한 패턴을 보이는 NPC의 생성을 확인할 수 있었으며, 게임에서 상대적인 또는 적대적인 캐릭터로 유용하게 사용 될 수 있다.

Enterobiasis and head lice infestations, contact-borne parasitic diseases, are the most prevalent parasitic infections of children in Korea, and they are transmitted by close contact with infected persons. They are not of major concern in public health, therefore their importance in children's health care are overlooked in Korea. Egg positive rates of Enterobius vermicularis have been reported to be 10~20% among children in kindergartens and primary schools. Enterobiasis is diagnosed by scotch tape anal swab, but repeated examination is necessary for accurate diagnosis. Albendazole or mebendazole are extremely effective for treatment, however, reinfections usually occur if treatment is not repeated at least three times at a 3-week-interval, targeting the whole family members including the patients. Environmental sanitation and health education are also necessary to guarantee the successful treatment of enterobiasis. Head lice infestation is still an indication of public health status. Children of 3 to 12 years old and their families have infestations more frequently, and girls have more than boys. Diagnosis can be made by identification of live lice or nits on the head. Pediculicides are effective treatment of infestations, however they do not kill nits completely, requiring second treatment. Recently wet combing is preferred as an alternative by parents in England because of possible toxicity of drugs and resistance of lice. It is impossible to completely prevent enterobiasis and/or head lice infestations. Therefore, mass screening and prevention are required, and, in local clinics, a thorough evaluation of the symptoms and past history, and appropriate laboratory tests are necessary.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to suggest better directions in experimental researches about finding new drug derived from herbs in South Korea. Methods: We investigated available manuscripts on anti-lung cancer herbal extracts which is used in South Korea by using available electric library, and made diagrams. Results: Many herbs are used in treatment of lung cancer based on traditional oriental medical theory. In Korea, researches for this field have been activated since 2000. But we haven't found the substance showing remarkable anti-tumor effect on lung cancer. And many of the experiment have been designed similar way and also have similar weak points in explanation about the apoptotic mechanism. Conclusions: From this results, we have found 10 herbs, 4 pharmacopunctures and 13 herbal decoctions to be conducted experimental studies for lung cancer from 2000 to 2008 in South Korea.

The purpose of this study is to provide for efficient health information service which doctors may use for their better medical practice and scientific research. 177 doctors were surveyed from December 3 to December 21th in 2007. This study mentioned activities of information need and use that were evaluated by information gathering methods used, information source, frequency of use, and degree of satisfaction toward library services. Doctors showed that they need information mainly to know the recent research results in their interesting subject field and to treat a patient. Doctors trended to obtain information through internet search because easy access and easy use, accuracy and up to dateness of information use. Doctors trended to seek information mainly through library, but they showed relatively low frequency of library use because they do not know how to use it.

This paper presents the estimation methods computing the probabilities of how many times web pages are downloaded and modified, respectively, in the future crawls. The methods can make web database administrators avoid unnecessarily requesting undownloadable and unmodified web pages in a page group. We postulated that the change behavior of web pages is strongly related to the past change behavior. We gather the change histories of approximately three million web pages at two-day intervals for 100 days, and estimated the future change behavior of those pages. Our estimation, which was evaluated by actual change behavior of the pages, worked well.

산업통상자원부가 주최하고 한국생산기술연구원 패키징기술센터가 주관하는 '제11회 미래패키징 신기술 정부포상' 시상식이 4월1 8일 경기도 일산 KINTEX 그랜드볼룸에서 열렸다. 국내 최고 권위의 패키징 종합 행사인 '미래패키징 신기술 정부포상'은 관련 산업 종사자의 긍지를 높이고 기술혁신 분위기를 확산하기 위해 2007년부터 한국생산기술연구원(원장 이성일, 이하 생기원)이 매년 개최해온 행사다. 11회를 맞이한 올해에는 (주)휴비스의 'PET 발포 패키징'이 대상인 국무총리상을 수상했다. 산업부장관상은 메디클란트의 '일회용 콘텍트렌즈 패키지', 신우코스텍의 '인몰드 3D 라벨 PET패키징 블로우 성형기', (주)한국콜마의 '힌지 회동에 의한 자동 기립형 팔레트 화장품', 엘지전자(주)의 'LG코드제로 청소기 패키징 디자인' 등이 수상했다. 이밖에 CJ제일제당을 비롯한 9개 기업이 한국생산기술연구원장상을, 2개 기업이 부천시장상, 3개 기업이 한국패키징단체총연합회 회장상, 10개 기업이 한국포장기술사회장상을 수상하는 등 총 43개의 기술 및 제품이 수상작으로 선정됐다. 또한 장형순 삼영잉크페인트제조(주) 고문과 박현진 고려대학교 교수가 국내 포장산업 발전에 기여한 공적을 인정받아 공로 부문에서 산업통상자원부 장관표창을 수여받았다. 올해 수상작들은 안전한 식품 포장소재 개발과 대량생산 상용화, 명확한 라벨링, 경량포장 확대, 재활용재료의 사용증가 등 기본에 충실하면서도 기술융합을 통해 패키징의 가치를 높였다는 평가를 받았다. 다음에 제11회 미래패키징 신기술 정부포상 수상작을 살펴보고 최신 국내 패키징 경향에 대해 알아보도록 한다.

This study is to examine academic phenomena of public administration research field in Korea through analysing the trends of researcher behavior. For the purpose of this study I analysed the types of research performance, reference materials, core journals, and the half-life of reference materials by investigating the articles in Korean Public Administration Review which is one of the major journal in this discipline. The results I found out are the followings: most of researches of the public administration are performed individually by the established academic fellows : researchers show their preference to foreign journals: as for the case of domestic journals, researchers tend to refer the latest issue: the major journal is discriminated from the others by getting a higher points
