physicochemical properties of rice starch isolated from eight varieties were examined to evaluate the rice processing suitability The amylose contents of rice starch were varied with 16.7-29.7%, and IR 30, Godael, Aguja and Lengkwang varieties showed higher amylose content than the other varieties. The water binding capacity and blue value were in the range of 87.0 103.0 and 0.178-0.305, respectively. As the amylose content increased, the amylogram pasting temperature and the break down ratio increased, while the peak viscosity did not show any significant difference. The transmittance of 0.1% starch suspension slowly increased at $50^{\circ}C$ in the low-amylose content rice group, and rapidly increased at $65^{\circ}C$ in the high-amylose content rice group, but there were no differences above $75^{\circ}C$ among varieties. Also the low-amylose rice starch showed higher values in the swelling power and solubility. The hardness of the 30% rice starch gels was low in low-amylose one. During storage at $20^{\circ}C$ for 14 days, the increment of hardness was more slow in high-amylose one. The retrogradation velocity constant of rice starch gel by Avrami equation was the highest as 0.219 in Aguja variety.

Sn-37Pb and Sn-3.5Ag-0.7Cu solder balls of 0.3 mm diameter were reflow soldered with the variation of soldering peak temperature and conveyer speed of reflow machine. The peak temperatures far soldering were changed in the range of 220~$240^{\circ}C$ for Sn-37Pb and 230~$260^{\circ}C$ for Sn-3.5Ag-0.7Cu. As the results of experiments, optimum soldering condition for Sn-37Pb was $230^{\circ}C$ of soldering temp., 0.7~0.8 m/min of conveyer speed. The optimum condition for the Sn-3.5Ag-0.7Cu was $250^{\circ}C$ and 0.6 m/min. The maximum shear strength for the soldered joints of Sn-37Pb was 555 gf and of Sn-3.5Ag-0.7Cu was 617 gf. Thickness of the intermetallic compound Cu6Sn5 on the soldered interface was 1.13~1.45 $\mu\textrm{m}$ for Sn-37Pb and 2.5~4.3 $\mu\textrm{m}$ for Sn-3.5Ag-0.7Cu.

The distribution and elimination of oxolinic acid (OA) following oral (80mg/kg body weight) and bath (20 mg/$\ell$) treatment were examined in the organs and plasma of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) on different temperatures and physiological conditions using a bioassay method. On the analysis of temperature effect, both absorption and elimination of OA after oral administration were delayed in the group at $15^{\circ}C$. but significant difference of the peak concentrations in the tissues of the groups at $15^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$ was not revealed. However, the changes of maximam concentration, absorption and elimination rates in the tissues of fish following bath treatment depending on different temperatures were more significantly different from the results of the studies with oral administration. The pharmacokinetics of OA in the tissues of diseased fish, the main target of drug treatment, also appeared to be distinguishable from those of healthy fish.
N-Benzoyl-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester(BzAPM), a novel aspartame precursor, was investigated for its enzymatic synthesis by immobilized thermolysin using a water-miscible organic solvent system. The substrate used were N-benzoyl-L-aspartic acid(BzAsp) and L-phenylalanine methyl ester (PheOMe). Synthetic conditions such as substrates concentration, temperature, pH, and some metallic ions were varied to study their effects on BzAPM synthesis. The synthetic reaction rate increased linearly as the PheOMe concentration increased at a constant concentration of BzAsp(100 mM), and the maximum reaction rate was obtained at BzAsp concentration of 200 mM when 300 mM PheOMe was used. The optimum pH and temperature were found to be 6.1 and $40^{\circ}C$, respectively. The metallic ions such as $Zn^{2+},\;Mg^{2+},\;Mn^{2+},\;Fe^{2+},\;Pb^{2+}\;and\;Cu^{2+}$ at 5 mM level showed inhibitory effect on BzAPM synthesis, while $Co^{2+}$ and $Ca^{2+}$ ion increased synthesis. $Co^{2+}$ ion was also found to have synergistic effect with $Ca^{2+}$ ion. Benzoic acid, L-phenylalanin and NaCl showed inhibitory effect.

In this study, fundamental properties of cement were reviewed to apply high fineness cement at low temperature environment. The classified high fineness cement has large proportion of particles below $10{\mu}m$ which affects early hydration: an overall reaction of cement hydration faster. As a result of using high fineness cement, setting time of concrete was reduced and compressive strength was higher than OPC at all ages. Especially, compressive strength was more than double its value compared with OPC after three days curing in low temperature. Faster reaction and higher heat of hydration was verified by calorimetry early and maximum heat of hydration was analyzed by adiabatic temperature raising test. The analysis of this study confirmed that high fineness cement can be suitable to be used in low temperature environment.
The principal objective of this study was to assess the effects of hydrocolloids(xanthan gum, guar gum, sodium alginate, k-carrageenan, carboxy-methyl cellulose) on the suppression of retrogradation in the bread. The pasting properties of the doughs and the sensory properties were determined in the bread samples, to which xanthan gum, guar gum, sodium alginate, k-carrageenan, and CMC, were added at different ratios(0.2%, 0.6%, 1%). CMC and k-carrageenan with 0.6% level were selected for the further retrogradation studies. Changes in the firmness of the bread samples at room temperature for 15 days were assessed using a texture analyzer, and the type of retrogradation was calculated via the Avrami equation. The thermal properties of the samples were also determined via differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The addition of hydrocolloids was shown to increase the viscosities of the doughs. Setback and breakdown viscosity were reduced significantly via the addition of CMC(0.6%, 1%), xanthan gum(1%), and k-carrageenan(1%). Sensory hardness was significantly increased when 1% hydrocolloids were added. Our textural analysis showed that the addition of CMC reduced the firmness of the bread, whereas k-carrageenan didn't. However, the retrogradation rate was reduced via the addition of k-carrageenan, as was also demonstrated in the results of our DSC analysis.
The purpose of this article is to examine whether Myanmar's experience in which dealing with the most exemplary change among rogue states or pariah state in the 21st century is feasible for North Korea's case. Recently, North Korea's willingness to dialogue, reform and open is similar to the precedent in which the Myanmar military junta dismantled its ruling system and turned over transition period through general elections in 2010 and 2015 each. The so-called 'Myanmar Model' refers to a country branded as a rogue state which has been under the international sanctions and pressure, and opening its political system and the market by choosing transformation. However, rapid changes in speed across the entire society after opening up are impossible because the political elite is only the leading role and implementation in the transition. In case of Myanmar, military culture has penetrated into society due to such a long-lasting military dictatorship, and even democratic bloc has become accustomed to authoritarian decision-making process. Furthermore, the "reserved area" of the old regime still exists in a deformed political structure that can not retrieve the interests of the military. Therefore there could not be achieved political development in term of qualification. North Korea also appears unlikely to achieve political and economic assessment in a short period of time, as civil society has not appeared due to its long dictatorship and very low economic development levels. Like Myanmar, North Korea is also likely to control the pace and direction of upcoming reforms and open, as the dictator or most powerful person chose to reform and open up. Therefore, if North Korea moves toward the 'Myanmar Model', there will be high expectations of new changes in the short term, but it could be delayed or stalled in the mid and long term.
In this study, effects of the ultrasonic irradiation during the reaction process were investigated for the enantioselective kinetic resolution (EKR) reaction of racemic epoxides in the presence of chiral cobalt salen catalysts, as compared to that of using the conventional mechanical stirring. In order to compare catalytic activities, the chiral cobalt salen complexes having $AlCl_3-$, $BF_3-$ and nitrobenzenesulfonic acid (NBSA) were synthesized and used as catalysts, and then three kinds of the racemic epoxides such as ephichlorohydrine (ECH), epoxy phenoxypropane (EPP) and propylene oxide (PO) were used as reactants. In addition, EKR reactions have been performed using the water and methanol as nucleophiles, respectively. The unique contribution of ultrasonic irradiation as a powerful mixing medium was evaluated in this study to improve the kinetics in comparison to the conventional mechanical agitation during EKR reactions. The reaction time to obtain the highest 99 ee% became shorten more than that of above 60%, when the ultrasonic irradiation was used. This result may be interpreted by the cavitation effect of ultrasound in the solution, generating a powerful shear force for the very violent mixing.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the potential of a gamma irradiation to decompose 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene(TNT) in an aqueous solution. The decomposition reaction of TNT by gamma irradiation was a pseudo first-order kinetic over the applied initial concentrations($25{\sim}100mg/L$). The dose constant was strongly dependent on the initial TNT concentration. The removal of TNT was more efficient at pH below 3 and at pH above 11 than at neutral pH(pH 5-9). The required irradiation dose to remove over 99% of TNT was 40, 80 and 10 kGy, individually at pH 2, 7 and 13. The dose constant was increased by 1.6 fold and over 15.6 fold at pH 2 and 13, respectively, when compared with that at pH 7 When irradiation dose of 200 kGy was applied, the removal efficiencies of TOC were 91, 46 and 53% at pH 2, 7 and 13, respectively. Ammonia and nitrate were detected as the main nitrogen byproducts of TNT and glyoxalic acid and oxalic acid were detected as organic byproducts. The results showed that a gamma irradiation was an attractive method for the decomposition of TNT in an aqueous solution. However, regarding the application of high energy radiation for the TNT decomposition and mineralization, an application of an acidic pH below 3 to the solution before irradiation should be considered.
