Effect of Promoter with Ru and Pd on Hydrogen Production over Ni/CeO2-ZrO2 Catalyst in Steam Reforming of Methane (메탄의 수증기 개질 반응에서 Ni/CeO2-ZrO2 촉매의 수소 생산에 대한 Ru 및 Pd의 조촉매 효과)

  • In the steam reforming of methane reactions, the effect of adding noble metals Ru and Pd to a Ni-based catalyst as promoters was analyzed in terms of catalytic activity and hydrogen production. The synthesized catalysts were coated on the surface of a honeycomb-structured metal monolith to perform steam methane reforming reactions. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, TPR, and SEM, and after the reforming reaction, the gas composition was analyzed by GC to measure methane conversion, hydrogen yield, and CO selectivity. The addition of 0.5 wt% Ru improved the reduction properties of the Ni catalyst and exhibited enhanced catalytic activity with a methane conversion of 99.91%. In addition, reaction characteristics were analyzed according to various process conditions. Methane conversion of over 90% and hydrogen yield of more than 3.3 were achieved at a reaction temperature of 800 ℃, a gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) of less than 10000 h-1, and a ratio of H2O to CH4 (S/C) higher than 3.

  • Hydro-thermal liquefaction technology for rapeseed straws was investigated the biomass conversion rate with different catalysts and reaction temperatures. NaOH and KOH were used for catalysts, and the reaction temperature were ranged from 180 to $320^{\circ}C$ at every $20^{\circ}C$ of intervals for 10 minutes. The reaction was carried out in a 5,000 mL liquefaction system with dispenser and external electrical furnace. Raw materials (160g), 2,000 mL of distilled water and 10% (wt/wt) of catalyst to plant residue were fed into the reactor. It was observed that the maximum crude oil yield was about 36% at temperature range, $260{\sim}280^{\circ}C$ with KOH and at $300^{\circ}C$ with NaOH, respectively. It was observed that the more calorific values of crude oil, the higher reaction temperature with KOH, but it had the reverse pattern in NaOH.

  • The preparation method of Raney nickel catalyst and the effect of promotor for the hydrogen electrode in alkaline fuel cell were investigated with electrochemical methods. The best electrode performance was observed with the Raney nickel which was obtained at $700^{\circ}C$ of sintering temperature and 60:40 of nickel:aluminum. As titanium was added for promotor, the activity of catalyst and characteristic of electrode was improved. Especially, the electrode containing 2w/o of titanium showed the maximum mass activity of 2.4A/g and its mean particle size was $5.7{\mu}m$. The resistance and capacitance of the electrode containing 2w/o of titanium, measured with AC impedance spectroscopy, were calculated to the $0.3{\Omega}cm^2$ and $0.42F/cm^2$, respectively.

  • The autothermal reforming reaction of methane was investigated to produce hydrogen with $Ni/CeO_2-ZrO_2$ catalysts. Alumina-coated honeycomb monolith was applied in order to obtain high catalytic activity and stability in autothermal reforming of methane. Metallic monolithic catalyst showed better methane conversion than that of powder type at high reaction temperature. It was confirmed that $H_2O/CH_4/O_2$ ratio was important factor in autothermal reforming reaction. $H_2$ yield was increased as $H_2O/CH_4$ ratio increased. Methane conversion was improved as $O_2/CH_4$ ratio was increased, whereas, the yield of $H_2$ was decreased. The catalytic activity for $Ni/CeO_2-ZrO_2$ catalyst with 0.5 wt% Ru loading was improved at low reaction temperature.

  • 휘발성유기화합물질의 처리기술은 크게 연산화, 촉매산화 및 흡착등의 기술과 비교적 최근에 활발히 연구가 진행되고 있는 바이오필터, 전자빔, 플라즈마, UV 산화, 플라즈마-촉매등의 기술이 있다. 휘발성 유기화합물질의 배출원은 매우 다양하나 국내의 경우 대규모의 도장시설이나 석유화학시설등 대형배출원의 경우에는 거의 대부분 연산화, 촉매산화, 흡착등의 기술이 적용되어 사용하고 있다. 한편, 국내에는 휘발성유기화합물질 규제대상 업종으로 중ㆍ소규모의 배출시설도 많이 있으며 이러한 시설들에 적용하기 위해 현재 여러종류의 새로운 기술들이 연구개발중이다.   • This study is designed to investigate the properties of caramel color made by corn sugar molasses, a new material. Com sugar refined and then caramelized in the solution of pH 2-10 ranges using catalysts such as ammonium carbonate, glycine and lysine. The control solution are 10% hydrochloric acid and sodium carbonate. The result were as follow; The caramelization showed the intensity of very strong color when added 0.4% ammonium carbonate as a catalyst. Color hue appeared to have the same color hue of the yellow belt and the red belt when compared with standard color hue in alkali, but the samples blue belt in all pH ranges showed a strong color hue than the standard color hue. Also, the stability of tannin, table salt and alcohol was transparent in all pH ranges, but the stability of acid appeared hazy at pH 9-10. In the case of glycine as a catalyst, caramelization showed the intensity of strong color when added 0.8% glycine at pH 9. Color hue showed in the yellow belt, strong in the red belt and very strong in the blue belt in all pH ranges when compared with standard color hue. Stability of tannin, table salt, acid alcohol was quite stable. In the case of lysine as a catalyst, caramelization showed strong color intensity when added 0.4% lysine in pH 9. Stability of tannin, table salt, acid and alcohol was quite stable.

Effect of Tungsten on PtRuW/C Catalysts for Promoting Methanol Electro-oxidation (메탄올 전기산화반응 증진을 위한 PtRuW/C 촉매에서 텅스텐의 효과에 관한 연구)

  • PtRuW/C catalysts were prepared with the different molar ratios of Pt : Ru : W and their compositions were analyzed by energy dispersive X-ray (EDX). The uniform distribution of particles was observed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). An average crystalline size of 3.5~5.5 nm was calculated based on x-ray diffraction (XRD) data. The electrochemical properties such as electrochemically active surface areas, current densities, specific activities and poisoning rates, were analyzed via CO stripping, linear sweep voltammetry and chronoamperometry. From the analysis, we observed that ternary alloy catalysts, except $PtRu_2W_2/C$, have higher current densities, specific activities and stabilities than those of commercial binary catalysts. Among all in-house catalysts, Pt5Ru4W/C showed the highest specific activity of $121.05mA{\cdot}m^{-2}$ and the lowest poisoning rate of $0.01%{\cdot}s^{-1}$.

  • 6$\cdot$25 동란이 초래한 절박한 결핵사정은 전국의 결핵인들을 결속시켜 범국민적인 민간항결핵단체를 조직케한 촉매제가 되었다. 19세기 말 개화의 물결을 타고 이 땅에 서양의학이 전래된 이래 1920년대부터 싹튼 항결핵운동이 주로 서양 선교사들에 의하여 주도되고, 1930년대 후반에 총독부 관제단체가 만들어진데 반하여 대한결핵협회는 우리의 손으로 우리를 위하여 우리가 함께 만든 자랑스러운 겨레의 단체였다.
