HF Data Communication Service Using SSB Modems for Maritime Applications (SSB 모뎀을 이용한 해상용 HF 데이터 통신 서비스)

  • This paper describes on development of integrated interface and applications to support stable digital data communication service for small and midium sized crafts exploiting SSB modems and HF wireless sets. Firstly, integrated interface module between GPS (Global Positioning System) and communication devices was developed. Secondly, maritime map was implemented into a display terminal to provide location tracking service and voyage planning function. In addition, condition monitoring service of crafts and fishing report functions as well as alarm functions were developed to support secure fishery. Results of performance measure on developed application services shows that error rate was less than 3% and communication delay was shorter than 1 second when a message length was less than 1 Kbyte along with one-to-many communication type.

A Design of Web Browsing System based on Content Retransmission in Marine Satellite Network (해양 위성통신망에서 콘텐츠 재전송 기반 웹 브라우징 서비스 시스템 설계)

  • With the development of digital satellite communication technology and the widespread use of smart devices, the demand for data communication in the maritime ship has increased. Recently, the communication between the maritime ship and the land is based on Inmarsat satellite service. The Inmarsat provides telephone, fax, data and telex service etc. However, since the satellite is payper-seconds billing service, the transmission of whole web contents to the maritime ship through the satellite causes high cost. In this paper, we propose web browsing system architecture that reduces the data traffic on the satellite link and retransmits the content selectively in order to solve these problems.

Design of Ultrasound Dynamic Focusing Systems (초음파 다이나믹 집속 시스템의 설계)

  • The design formular of optical focusing systems cannot be applied to ultrasonic B scanners, which use broadband pulses instead of continuous wave. In this paper, a calculation method is studied for analyzing the propagation of ultrasonic broadband pulse excited by ultrasonic array transducers. Using the results, seveial design parameters such as the number of transducer elements, delay time, and the focal point are determined to obtain high resolution in the ultrasonic dynamic focusing system. A dynamic focusing system with low-noise switching characteristics; which attains lateral resolution of 2-3mm all along the axial direction up to 18 cm with a 3.5 MHz linear array transducer, was implemented.

  • 다양한 종류의 동영상을 출력하는 디스플레이 장치에 색역 사상 알고리즘이 적용이 되기 위해서는 약 10나노 초 정도의 처리 속도가 필요하기 때문에 실제로 구현하기가 매우 어렵다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 특정 장치의 색역 사상 결과를 샘플링한 후 3차원 룩업테이블에 저장하는 하드웨어 구조가 있는데, 본 논문에서는 이러한 해상도 절감 3차원 룩업 테이블을 이용한 색역 사상 하드웨어를 기술하고, 기존의 하드웨어의 구조를 보다 최적화할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고 성능 향상을 확인한다. 해상도 절감 3차원 룩업 테이블을 이용한 색역 사상 방법은 최종 사상 값을 출력하기 위하여 3차원 보간부를 필요로 하는데, 3차원 보간부는 실시간 하드웨어에서 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는 부분이다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 육면체 구조를 이용한 3차원 보간 방법에 비하여 연산 과정이 간단한 사면체 구조를 이용한 3차원 보간 방법으로 보간을 수행하는 새로운 하드웨어 구조를 제안하였고, 새로운 하드웨어가 기존의 방법보다 더 높은 성능을 기대할 수 있으면서 전체적인 하드웨어의 크기를 절감할 수 있음을 보인다.

A Study on the Minimum Safety Distance between Navigation Vessels based on Vessel Operator's Safety Consciousness (선박운항자 안전 의식에 기초한 선박통항 최소 이격거리에 관한 연구)

  • Vessel Operator has been navigating with subjective sate distance in accordance with night & daytime, fore & aft, port & stbd abeam and visibility situation. This sate distances may different depending on inside & outside harbor limit, current, wind and visibility situation. By now, the concept of proper sate distance between navigating vessels has been adopted in Korea, using the early 1980's foreign data. And the safe distance is being used with the same value without any consideration of inside & outside harbor and the kind of vessel. So it is necessary to evaluate or search proper distance concept based on different sate consciousness of Korean manners. This paper aims to develop the basic model for marine traffic evaluation and the new model of marine traffic congestion. Also this paper proposes the basic control guideline of vessel traffic service center. The result of this study showed that minimum sate distance should be 4.4L forward, 3.1L aft and 26L abeam in case of good visibility in daytime, considering various parameters such as visibility, day and night. Some differences Here found between the existing minimum sate distance and the new minimum sate distance derived from the result of this study.

Numerical Simulation Test of Scour around Offshore Jacket Structure using FLOW-3D (FLOW-3D를 이용한 해상 자켓구조물 주변의 세굴 수치모의 실험)

  • As offshore structures such as offshore wind and offshore platforms have been installed frequently in ocean, scour effects are considered important. To test the scour effect, numerical simulation of scour has been carried out. However, the test was usually conducted under the uni-directional flow without bi-directional current flow in western sea of Korea. Thus, in this paper, numerical simulations of scour around offshore jacket substructure of HeMOSU-1 installed in western sea of Korea are conducted using FLOW-3D. The conditions are uni-directional and bi-directional flow considering tidal current. And these results are compared to measured data. The analysis results for 10,000 sec show that under uni-directional conditions, maximum scour depth was about 1.32 m and under bidirectional conditions, about 1.44 m maximum scour depth occurred around the structure. Meanwhile, about 1.5~2.0 m scour depths occurred in field observation and the result of field test is similar to result under bi-directional conditions.

Hyperspectral Image Analysis Technology Based on Machine Learning for Marine Object Detection (해상 객체 탐지를 위한 머신러닝 기반의 초분광 영상 분석 기술)

  • In the event of a marine accident, the longer the exposure time to the sea increases, the faster the chance of survival decreases. However, because the search area of the sea is extremely wide compared to that of land, marine object detection technology based on the sensor mounted on a satellite or an aircraft must be applied rather than ship for an efficient search. The purpose of this study was to rapidly detect an object in the ocean using a hyperspectral image sensor mounted on an aircraft. The image captured by this sensor has a spatial resolution of 8,241 × 1,024, and is a large-capacity data comprising 127 spectra and a resolution of 0.7 m per pixel. In this study, a marine object detection model was developed that combines a seawater identification algorithm using DBSCAN and a density-based land removal algorithm to rapidly analyze large data. When the developed detection model was applied to the hyperspectral image, the performance of analyzing a sea area of about 5 km2 within 100 s was confirmed. In addition, to evaluate the detection accuracy of the developed model, hyperspectral images of the Mokpo, Gunsan, and Yeosu regions were taken using an aircraft. As a result, ships in the experimental image could be detected with an accuracy of 90 %. The technology developed in this study is expected to be utilized as important information to support the search and rescue activities of small ships and human life.

  • 근접장 초해상 기술 중 대표적인 Super-RENS (Super Resolution Near Field Structure) 기술을 이용하여 25GB 용량의 BD(Blu-ray Disc) 다음 세대로 예상되는 100 ${\sim}$ 200 GB 용량의 Media 및 기록 재생 기기를 개발하고자 한다. 현재까지 이 기술의 어려움이었던 Stability 특성은 10만회 재생 내구성을 확인하엿고 CNR (신호 대 잡음 비) 특성은 50 nm 미세 마크에 대하여 40 dB의 특성을 확보 하였다. 이 특성은 대략 75 GB에 대응하는 것으로 BD System을 그대로 사용하면서 달성한 세계 최고의 기록 밀도로 평가된다. 향후 과제는 Jitter. Error Rate등 실제 신호 특성의 확보로서, 이의 확보를 통하여 기술의 상품화 가능성이 확인될 것이다.

A Study on Automatic Alignment System based on Object Detection and Homography Estimation (객체 탐지 및 호모그래피 추정을 이용한 안저영상 자동 조정체계 시스템 연구)

  • 본 시스템은 같은 환자로부터 촬영한 기존 안저영상과 초광각 안저영상을 Paired Dataset으로 지니고 있으며, 영상의 크기 및 해상도를 똑같이 맞추고, 황반부와 신경유두 및 혈관의 위치를 미세조정하는 과정을 자동화하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 이 과정은 황반부를 중심으로 하여 영상을 잘라내어 이미지의 크기를 맞추는 과정(Scaling)과, 황반부를 중심으로 잘라낸 한 쌍의 영상을 포개었을 때 황반부, 신경 유두, 혈관 등의 위치가 동일하도록 미세조정하는 과정(Warping)이 있다. Scaling Stage에선 기존 안저영상과 초광각 안저영상의 촬영범위가 현저하게 차이나기 때문에, 황반변성 부위를 잘 나타내도록 사전에 잘라낼 필요가 있으며, 이를 신경유두의 Object Detection을 활용할 예정이다. Warping Stage에선 동일한 위치에 같은 황반변성 정보가 내포되어야 하므로 규격조정 및 위치조정 과정이 필수적이며, 이후 안저영상 내의 특징들을 매칭하는 작업을 하기 위해 회전, 회절, 변환 작업 등이 이루어지며, 이는 Homography Estimation을 통하여 이미지 변환 matrix를 구하는 방법으로 진행된다. 자동조정된 안저영상 데이터는 추후에 GAN을 이용한 안저영상 생성모델을 위한 학습데이터로 이용할 예정이며, 현재로선 2500쌍의 데이터를 대상으로 실험을 진행중이지만, 최종적으로 3만 쌍의 안저영상 데이터를 목표로 하고 있다.
