A Study on Design of the Cross Type Ultrasonic Rotary Motor (Cross형 초음파 회전모터의 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the ultrasonic motor which has hollowed cross type stator was designed, and the elastic body of ultrasonic motor was optimized by using a finite element analysis program(ANSYS 9.0). When the length of leg(L) of the elastic body was increased and the width of piezoceramics was decreased, the resonant frequency was increased and the displacement of contact point between the rotor and the stator was increased. However, when the length of the leg was over the 1/3 point of the width of ceramics, the displacement of the contact point was decreased, because the elastic buckle was generated in the leg.

  • In this paper the bending vibration analysis of stator for a ring type ultrasonic motor is described. Considering the electromechanical coupling effect, the concepts of generalized stress and strain are explained in detail using the generalized piezoelectric equations, which is the relationship between generalized stress and strain, the differential motion equation were derived. The vibration modes and resonance frequencies of the stator were calculated using the finite element code ATILA.

  • In this paper, we present the position control of pendulum system which is driven by a ultrasonic motor. Since the system's response is different for each initial position of pendulum, it is difficult to obtain the satisfiable control performance by using a neural network which is learned by off-line. To overcome this problem, we propose the multiple controller based on fuzzy inference system for ultrasonic motor. and controller is designed by neural network. The proposed method shows good performance for any initial positions and it's effectiveness is verified from experiments. We expect that ultrasonic motor can be used as actuators of robot's leg or manipulator.

  • Nowadays, great attention has been shown to the question of ultrasonic linear motor for accomplishing the high positioning accuracy and high driving force in the semiconductor and optical industry. Ultrasonic linear motors have many advantages such as simple structure, quick response, ability to maintain position without energy consumption, and electromagnetic effect. And BLT has attracted attention to accomplish large vibration amplitude and large mechanical force. Authors designed and developed the new type of ultra sonic linear motor with multi support mechanism, achieved 75N of output force and 0.45m/s of velocity.

  • 실내에서의 화재 등의 재난 상황에서는 비장애인과 장애인 모두 시야 확보가 어려워져 안전하게 대피하기 어려운 위험에 직면하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 시각정보 부재 시에 보행자의 다양한 장애물에 대한 회피 및 충돌상황 방지를 위한 안전 기술에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 특히 주변의 다양한 위험 정보를 인지하기 어려운 시각 및 청각장애인들이 안전에 위협을 느낄 수 있는 복잡한 실내외 구조물과, 시시각각 변하는 주변의 장애물 환경에 대처하기 위하여 MCU를 활용한 보드에 진동 모터, 초음파, LED 센서를 장착하여 탈부착이 가능한 웨어러블(Wearable) 모듈을 제작하였다. 장애물 감지를 위한 센서부는 사용자의 상체부 전반에 장착되어 주변의 장애물들을 보다 넓은 범위로 인식하고 대처할 수 있으며, 이후 다양한 관제시스템에 활용 가능하도록 모듈과 사용자간의 인터넷 통신을 이용하여 실시간으로 시각 및 청각장애인들의 위험감지를 보호자에게 신속하게 알려줄 수 있는 시스템을 개발하여 그 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • This paper describes with the stator analysis and design of a ring type ultrasonic motor. The design for piezoelectric ceramic and elastic body of stator were calculated by using the finite element method (FEM) that consider the resonance frequency, vibration mode and coupling efficiency. Namely, such results were acquired the calculation result of the piezoelectric ceramic thickness 0.5[mm], elastic body thickness 2.0[mm], resonance frequency 51.8[kHz], vibration mode 7 order and coupling efficient 12.5[%], the outer and inner diameter of vibrator 50[mm], 38[m]. On the basis of such result, the ring type ultrasonic motor was manufactured. Also for driving characteristics of ring type ultrasonic motor, 2-phase inverter was constructed. Then the propriety of this paper was established from comparision of the simulation and an experiment results of the ring type ultrasonic motor.

  • The traveling wave type ultrasonic motor(USM) has no electro-magnetic circuits( coil or core). The driving principle of the USM is based on high-frequency mechanical vibrations and frictional force. The USM, thus, is fed by two-phase high - frequency sinusoidal inverter using its series resonant parasitic components. For the using of series resonant type inverter, it should be needed to a USM parasitic capacitance and a proper inductor chosen. In this paper, the values of optimal inductance are designed and the efficiency of USM drives is achieved. The effectiveness of the proposed design is demonstrated by experiments.

  • Transducer for linear ultrasonic motor with symmetric and anti-symmetric modes was studied. The transducer was composed of two Langevin-type vibrators that cross at right angles with each other at tip. In order to excite two vibration modes, two Langevin-type vibrators must have 90-degree phase difference with each other. As a result, tip of transducers moves in elliptical motion. In this paper, elliptical trajectory of transducer was analyzed by employing the finite element method.

  • In this paper, a single phase driven piezoelectric motor design was presented for linear motion. Two metal/ceramic composite actuators, a piezoelectric ring which was bonded to a metal endcap from one side, were used as the active elements of this motor. The motor was composed of a piezoelectric ceramic, a metal ring which has 4 arms, and a guider. Motors with 30.0[mm] and 35.0[mm] diameter were studied by finite element analysis and experiments. As results, the maximum speed of motor was obtained at resonant frequency. When the applied voltage of the motor increased, the speed was increased. Also, bidirectional motion of the motor was achieved by combining two motors which have different resonant frequency.

  • An ultrasonic motor is a motor which uses vibration -a type of elastic vibration- to obtain a driving force, which then drives the motor using friction. In this paper, mode conversion type - single resonance mode ultrasonic rotary motor that use langevin type ultrasonic vibrator was studied. This model was proposed for the first time by Japanese Kumada in 1985. In this study, finite element analysis (FEA) of a stator and bidirectional driving characteristic of a rotor was newly obtained. The amplitude and phase of displacement and elliptical trajectory of beam was confirmed by FEA The fabricated motor was operated to clockwise and counterclockwise in 40.8 [kHz] and 44.2 [kHz] respectively. But bidirectional driving characteristics did not coincide each other.
