Imagining through webtoon: Webtoon-focused convergence education project in middle school (웹툰으로 상상하기: 중학교 웹툰 중심의 융합교육 프로젝트)

  • The changes in media environments have impacted on the ways in which knowledges are formed and transmitted and therefore the relevance of the traditional school subjects have been increasingly questioned. In this context, the discourses of the reformation of the 21st century schooling have focused on convergence education and media literacy education. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to the fact that the practices of transdisciplinary integrated curriculum focusing on digital media content are grown voluntarily in schools. This research is a case study of a convergence educational project that was initiated by a middle school teacher who designed and implemented a unique program of the transdisciplinary class of Korean focusing on reading webtoons with the linked program of a 'Book Club Activity' that was a part of 'Creative Experiential Activitites'. Based on the analysis of the documents, participatory observation of a main event and the interview with the teacher, this article discusses how the webtoon-focused convergence education project might have achieved meaningful connections between a subject-focused learning and a creative experiences-focused learning; between in and out of school learning spaces; between the real and imaginative worlds; and between the boundaries of the popular culture and the arts. The main finding of the research can be summarized as follows: Firstly, webtoon as the subject of the study can be an effective medium of transdisciplinary integrated curriculum. Secondly, the convergence project based on webtoons can create meaningful learning spaces in and out of school environments in terms of creating more learner-participatory learning culture as well as connecting students' everyday lives, popular arts and their learning about culture. Another important finding of this research is the rediscovery of the teacher's role in terms of mediating the voices of students as readers in the process of constructing and implementing the integrated curriculum.

The Study of Disability Awareness among elementary and high school students for convergence education design (융합적 장애인식 교육 설계를 위한 초·중·고등학생의 장애 인식에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is the study on deducing the education design for convergence of disability awareness of targeting elementary, middle, high school students located in J city. The analysis results are as follows: In the analysis of group difference in disability awareness, there was a statistically significant difference according to female students, schools, and sub-typed phase, and experience in integrated education. It was found that the participating group in disability awareness education showed a higher average than non-participating groups in prejudice against disability, interest and consideration, and acceptance of physically challenged friends. In the relationship between disability perception education and disability awareness, the education was found to have influence on prejudice against disability and acceptance of physically challenged friends. This paper suggested disability awareness education reflecting a life cycle, application of the integrated educational method for verifying educational effectiveness, etc.

A Study on Establishment of Convergence Education School for the Gifted (융합형 영재교육기관 설립에 관한 연구)

  • In these days it can be said that knowledge based society has been passed through and creative society is approaching, and the important keywords to the coming creative society should be the knowledge, the creativity, and the convergence. In order to make preemptive responses to this 21 century's new creative society, cultivation of gifted students with integrated prototype is also an imperative reason to prepare. With this historical background Korean Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology announced "a general plan on invigoration of elementary and middle school level art education for cultivation of creativeness and humanity" containing the acting curriculums of science and art integrated on June 2010, and also announced "the second general plan for support on development of science and technology professionals" including STEAM education for elementary and middle school level at January 2011. In this paper we developed a strategy appliable to establish an education institution for gifted students specialized on promoting the students to the convergence type gifted students. For the purpose, we derived the necessity for convergence education for the gifted and the implication points through analysis on the examples, and developed a strategy to establish an education institution for gifted students.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop students' creativity and artistic sensitivity by developing a convergence education program that links various subjects, including mathematics, science, and art based on design. Design is done in almost every human activity that pursues beauty and implements cultural value through patterns and images. We have developed three programs for elementary school students and two programs for middle school students, taking into consideration the achievement standards and curriculum content appropriate for the 2015 revised curriculum. It was assessed by a panel of five educational experts during the development and demonstration courses to evaluate the feasibility of the development program. The development program can enhance the design literacy and design sense of elementary and junior high school students and can be used convergent educational contents that can be applied in the free-semester system activities of junior high school. Through this program, adolescents who will lead the future design society will be able to acquire the sense of design, literacy, and design ability as design consumers and producers.

A Study on Core Competency of Beginning Childhood Teacher in order to Correspond to the Future Society (미래사회에 대응하기 위해 초임 유아교사에게 요구되는 핵심역량 도출에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the needs of experts in childhood education field on what is the primary core competency of the beginning childhood teachers to cope with the future society. For this, the survey was conducted for 252 of teachers in charge, assistant directors, and directors who are currently working at the daycare centers and kindergartens in Busan and Gyeongsangnamdo. In order to derive the requirement and priority on the core competencies required to beginning childhood teachers, 3-step analysis method of paired t-Test, Borich Needs Model Analysis, and the Locus for Focus was used. As a result, seven sub-competencies of five competencies of cooperation, communication, self-improvement and development, vocational ethics, and emotional intelligence was identified as the core competencies required by priority to the beginning childhood teachers in order to cope with the future society. These results may provide the basic data for designing the competence and field-based curriculum in the teachers' training schools for pre-service childhood teachers.

Performance Improvement of SRGAN's Discriminator via Mutual Distillation (상호증류를 통한 SRGAN 판별자의 성능 개선)

  • Mutual distillation is a knowledge distillation method that guides a cohort of neural networks to learn cooperatively by transferring knowledge between them, without the help of a teacher network. This paper aims to confirm whether mutual distillation is also applicable to super-resolution networks. To this regard, we conduct experiments to apply mutual distillation to the discriminators of SRGANs and analyze the effect of mutual distillation on improving SRGAN's performance. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that SRGANs whose discriminators shared their knowledge through mutual distillation can produce super-resolution images enhanced in both quantitative and qualitative qualities.

  • 본 논문에서는 비디오에서의 특징점 추적을 통해 얻은 2D 좌표를 이용한 3D 구조를 추정하는 방법과 네 점 이상의 공통점을 이용한 융합 방법을 제안한다. 영상의 각 프레임에서 공통되는 특징점을 이용하여 형상을 추정한다. 영상의 각 프레임에 대한 특징점의 추적은 Lucas-Kanade 방법을 사용하였다. 3D 좌표 추정 방법으로 개선된 직교분해기법을 사용하였다. 개선된 직교분해기법에서는 3D 좌표를 복원함과 동시에 카메라의 위치와 방향을 계산할 수 있다. 복원된 부분 데이터들은 전체를 이루는 일부분이므로, 융합을 통해 완성된 모습을 만들 수 있다. 복원된 부분 데이터들의 서로 다른 좌표계를 기준 좌표계로 변환함으로써 융합할 수 있다. 융합은 카메라의 모션에 해당하는 카메라의 위치와 방향에 의존된다. 융합 과정은 모두 선형으로 평균 0.5초 이하의 수행 속도를 보이며 융합의 오차는 평균 0.1cm 이하의 오차를 보였다.

  • 반도체 LED가 조명 인프라를 바꾸는 신성장 기술로 급부상하고 있다. LED는 백열전등에 비하여 전기 절감 효과가 높고, 형광등에 비하여 수은을 사용하지 않아 친환경적이다. 통신 및 조명 환경 변화에 부응한 기술로서, LED 조명과 동시에 통신을 할 수 있는 가시광 무선통신 융합 기술이 등장하였다. 본 고에서는 조명과 통신의 전혀 다른 산업이 융합된 기술로 탄생하게 된 기술적 배경, 가시광 무선통신의 국내 및 국제 표준동향, LED 조명통신 융합 기술에 의한 융합 서비스를 설명한다. 가시광 무선통신 기술은 눈으로 확인하는 통신, 빛 색에 따른 선별통신, LOS 통신 보안을 보장해주는 것이 특징이다. 또한, 조명통신 융합에 의해 광 ID, 광센서, 초정밀 실내 측위, M2M 등의 신규 융합 서비스도 제공할 수 있다.

미래 선도형 에코 성형 시스템 관련 기술의 동향 - 서보모터 구동형 초정밀 에코 성형시스템의 개발 현황

  • 현재 전세계적으로 에너지 절감과 지구환경 보호를 위한 이산화탄소 가스 배출의 저감하는 피할 수 없는 생산제조산업 분야의 높은 장벽으로 다가서고 있다. 공작 기계류의 진보는 날이 갈수록 거듭되어 다양한 기술의 융복화 등 궁극적인 첨단 고도화에 이르고 있으나, 이와 같은 문제점들을 기본적으로 안고 있는 것은 사실이다. 그 대응 방안으로는 소성 성형 방식으로의 가능한 한 대체화가 될 수 있으며, 또한 기존에는 스프링 백 등의 고연성 등으로 인하여 성형이 곤란하여 기피하던 난성형재도 보다 경량화 등의 추세에 대응하기 위하여 불가피하게 사용되기 위해서도 획기적인 소성 성형 시스템을 필요로 한다. 이와 같은 차원에서 최근에 에코 융합화를 모색하는 새로운 서보모터 구동형 프레스 시스템의 도입이 적극적으로 이뤄지고 있으나 국내의 경우에는 국산화 개발이 늦어져 고부가가치 제품에 대한 기술종속성이 우려되고 있다. 최근 한국기계연구원을 중심으로 산학연 컨소시엄 형태로 산업원천기술개발사업의 일환인 지식기반 자율제어형 초정밀 디지털 서보프레스 시스템 개발에 관한 연구가 진행중이며, 기술선도국의 보유 기술 수위를 넘은 에코/정보/지식 융합화 모델을 궁국적으로 개발하고자 한다. 본문에서는 이에 대한 현재까지의 개발 진행 내용을 정리하여 간단히 요약하여 나타내었다.
