Xiao Quan is a leading documentary portrait photographer in China. He tried to shoot portrait photographs of celebrities in the literary and artistic world. By doing this, he represented their time period. We explored the way Xiao Quan implemented the times they lived in by analyzing their portrait photographs included in . Our research showed that Xiao Quan used images of their living environments, clothes and facial expressions and composition of portraits. Such various methods of creation are a means for the symbolic expressions of their times. This research not only finds the way Chinese documentary portraits are created but also provides an opportunity to increase the value of documentary portraits as historic documents.

Oh, hein-kuhn is a representative portrait photographer in Korea. His works, , , , which treated portraits of women are a bit different from those of the past that described the appearance of characters. The artist expressed the figure of inner side that conflicts and feels uneasy between 'family and society' and 'child and woman' along with the look of character. That is, he included specific aura which the whole of aunts and girls' group radiates by showing similar photos repeatedly, that we can be aware of 'aunt' and 'girl' by seeing them. The important technique of Oh, hein-kuhn's Portrait Photograph is 'repetition' of image. The artist delivers the meaning of the photo by looking at the character upright in the front and showing photos with similar frame repeatedly. Such form and content of the work as this might feel a bit boring, since it's very simple just like identification picture. However, the photos in the frames which do not move in the fixed position can deliver the meaning of work more clearly rather than the image which expresses flowing time and moving space, we can grasp the message that the artist intends to deliver rather quickly. In the environment of photograph production mainly with image transformation, Oh, hein-kuhn's works of authentic original work method definitely stand forth. Through the portraits of aunts and girls, the artist tells an aspect of our society and we reconfirm the reality through the portraits made by him.

This study is to describe the meaning of associations at $5{\cdot}18$-related photographic portrait phenomenologically. Referent in the photography arouses different and unique type of associations. Moreover, it appears differently emotional experience by the associations. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe types of associations and emotional experience about referents gained through $5{\cdot}18$ photography and to construct the meaning. It is based on concepts of primordial associations discussing in the phenomenology but this study was described the meaning of $5{\cdot}18$ the May 18th democratic uprising focusing on types of associations and meanings derived by direct experience from photography. According to this result, the viewpoint of $5{\cdot}18$ Democracy Movement approaches from objective academic system or cannot be withdrew as dynamics of the political ideology. It is that the fundamental and impulsive emotions from each individual who participated in the movement are affected. The fundament of the May 18th democratic uprising is based on their basis of life and the will to primitive power of a love & affective community.

본 연구는 샤오취안의 "우리들 세대"를 중심으로 중국의 인물 사진과 시대 배경적의 관계를 연구한다. 샤오취안은 인물의 생활 배경 및 복장, 인물의 표정에 나타나는 감정, 구도를 활용해 시대적 배경을 상징적으로 구현했다. 본 연구는 중국 인물 사진을 대표하는 샤오취안의 "우리들 세대" 작품을 통해 중국 인물 사진의 역사적 기록으로서의 가치를 제고하는 기회를 제공한다.

A photograph used in a film poster summarizes the story of the film that lasts for around two hours. The image must contain a picture that represents the story and text including the title, with various design elements composed in a harmonious way. However, given that a photograph is the most noticeable element in a film poster, this study aims to examine the function, role, and types of a film poster and analyze poster photographs. Currently, there are companies specialized in photography for film posters, but sometimes recognized photographers are commissioned to take a photograph that will be used for a film poster. Hein-kuhn Oh actively produced such photographs in the early and mid-2000s, and this study deals with 'how the photographs recreate the content of the films' focused on three selected photographs taken by him. Also, There were commonalities found between the tree photographs and Oh's personal portrait photographs, which were then analyzed from the photographic aesthetic point of view. The number of digital camera users is increasing rapidly and countless number of photos floats about on the internet especially through wide-spreading Cyworld and blogs. Though portraits cover a large percentage of those photos, because of the property rights, near entirety or such photos are unavailable for use by web-page producers, advertising companies, web-designers, and so on, who need a variety of portraits with differing expressions and characteristics. This study offers a search engine that incorporates image characteristics based on natural language index, which can provide a fast and reliable search result. It will create an opportunity for the digital photographers to mure easily sell their pictures and simultaneously provide the would-be users of the photos a better and easier way to find the pictures they are looking for. Once the search engine is realized, it will become possible to use not only the nouns as keywords and categories but also verbs in search of portraits revealing feelings, expressions, dressings, and other characteristics.

This paper is to examine the issues of the right of portrait and to suppose practical guideline for performing arts archives. The right of portrait protects external looks of the human beings based on the constitutional human dignity, privacy of a secret and freedom. But sometimes these rights are limited in case of the right to know of the public shall have precedence to the interests of the privacy of individuals. It is hard to regard Performing Arts as a private life in two respects: first, Performing Arts is just one of societal expressions, two, performers are conducting a given role as a performing character. Producing database with the photos and videos under the reasonable agreement from the performers and making it available as a service can be disclaimers of the right of portrait. It is hard to be acknowledged, however, as disclaimers in case of being undermined sameness in the course of using the portraits of the performers.

Recently the entertainment and sports/advertisement industry have developed rapidly, and the name or identities of celebrities such as entertainers or athletics for the advertisement so that following troubles are occurred continually. Some celebrities actually started a suit for there right of publicity was violated, and won the case. Meanwhile, the right of publicity has become a growing issue in the society. In the States, the right of publicity which controls using one's identity for commercial use, and it is recognized as a right of property separated from the right of privacy. But in Germany, the right of publicity is protected as a human right. On the other hand, in Korea, there is an argument that the mental human right and the right of publicity which has property-characteristic are not separated clearly, and also the attitude of precedent toward the right of publicity is not unified. Especially in Korea, where it is taking the written laws principally, it is not easy to recognize the right of publicity which is a monopoly and exclusion without basis such as any actual laws such as regulation of agreement or any conventional laws. Therefore, as the right protection of celebrities is becoming the social state and there is an agreement with the constituents of the society, now Korea shall progress legislation about the right of publicity, and prepare a legal basis which regulates the remedies for the realization condition, alienation, inheritance, objectives, duration and violation of the right of publicity.

The present research aims to identify the issues that occurred when uploading stock photos to the internet-based stock image agencies and to develop technical solutions based on web service technologies. We identify the issues by examination of previous studies and stock photo uploading systems of major three agencies currently in service. As such, we develop web service technology by focusing on the following matters. First, we apply an automatic tag system to ensure convenience. Second, to ensure safety, we apply a technology that easily enables prevention of portrait rights violations and trademark infringements. We also prepare for measures against possible harmfulness. Third, to ensure completeness, we apply a method which resolves upload failure issues that frequently occurred in the past. In particular, the present research is significant as it applies an automatic image analysis system based on Google Cloud Vision API as the artificial intelligence-based image processing technology. In addition, we develop a web service program which improves user access by using SNS-type screen composition.
