Geometry Education and Software: A Review (소프트웨어를 활용한 도형 교육 연구 동향 탐색)

  • The use of software is effective in developing mathematical understanding that provides mathematical problems and ensures mathematical communication. In particular, various software may provide all of the skills and conceptual activities students need to understand mathematical concepts. Based on these arguments, I analyze domestic prior studies based on the perspective of how the shape education using software affects mathematics learning. Based on the five categories of visualization, manipulation, cognitive tools, discourse promoters, and ways of thinking, domestic studies have shown that the number and categories of research related to shape education using software are limited. In addition, it was confirmed that previous studies in South Korea have been focused on the application of software rather than analysis of the changing aspects of learners' mathematics learning. These implications might be used as a basis for setting the direction of research on mathematics education related to the education of software utilization in the future.

Analysis of Perception and Needs of Elementary School teachers on Computer and Information Literacy Education (컴퓨터·정보 소양 교육에 관한 초등학교 교사의 인식 및 요구 분석)

  • This research aims to investigate elementary school teacher's perception and needs of computer and information literacy education to provide basic materials so that computer and information literacy education converges with related subject and can be done in various educational contexts. In order to achieve the goal for this research, we conducted an online questionnaire survey on the current status of teachers, the perception and status of convergence education for computer and information literacy, and the needs for convergence education for computer and information literacy. As a result of the analysis, when the teacher majored in computer and information education or had experience in software education, the percentage of respondents who said that it is possible to converge for computer and information literacy is high. Also, It was found that the burden of following the class progress according to the curriculum was high. In the school environment, preparation for software tool was found to be insufficient. we suggested the strategic implications in terms of education direction, teacher training, education program, and learning tool based on the analysis results.

  • 현재 학교의 컴퓨터 교육이 소프트웨어 활용 측면에서 벗어나 컴퓨터과학 교육을 강화하는 쪽으로 방향을 전환하고 있다. 특히 2005년에 개정된 정보통신기술 운영지침에 따르면 초등학교에서부터 알고리즘을 학습 내용으로 다루도록 하였으며 이에 따라 초등학교 현장에서도 알고리즘을 쉽고 효과적으로 지도하기 위한 다양한 교육 방법 연구가 필요해졌다. 현재까지 초등학생 대상의 컴퓨터과학 교육 연구는 대부분 초등학교 고학년을 대상으로 구체적인 조작과 활동 중심으로 제한되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 정렬 수행 과정이 시뮬레이션되도록 제작한 애니메이션 컨텐츠를 통해 여러 알고리즘의 방법을 경험하도록 하는 ICT 기반의 알고리즘 교수-학습 과정을 설계하여 저학년에 적용하고 성취도와 학생들의 반응을 분석하였다.

  • 본 연구는 초등학교 컴퓨터 교과의 제재를 주제로 한 웹 기반 프로젝트 학습을 설계하는데 목적이 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 프로젝트 학습과 웹 기반 프로젝트 학습에 대한 제이론을 고찰하고 이를 바탕으로 웹 기반 프로젝트 학습 모형을 설계하여 초등학교 컴퓨터 교과의 주제를 중심으로 웹 기반 프로젝트 학습을 설계하였다. 설계 단원은 초등학교 6학년 컴퓨터 교과(재량교과)의 '정보의 이해와 윤리', '컴퓨터 기초', '소프트웨어의 활용' 영역을 예비 학습으로 학습하고, 주제별로 그룹별 프로젝트 활동을 함으로써 학습자 중심의 학습이 가능하도록 하였다.

Analysis of Addiction Risk Factors in the Internet Softwares Used by Elementary School Students (초등학생이 사용하는 인터넷 소프트웨어의 중독위험요소 분석)

  • There are lots of studies going on about internet addiction in a point of view of psychology and sociology. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relation between the internet addiction and the services and functions of internet softwares in a point of view of developing softwares. For this, the first goal is to see the type of the software that used most by elementary school students addicted to internet, and the second is to examine the risk factors of addiction and their priority orders in the services and functions offered by that kind of software. The results of this paper can give instructive informations to every children who use internet and their parents and teachers and software developers.

  • Rapid changes in modern society after the COVID-19 have highlighted artificial intelligence talent as a major influencing factor in determining national competitiveness. Accordingly, the Ministry of Education planned a large-scale SW·AI camp education project to develop the digital capabilities of 4th to 6th grade elementary school students and middle and high school students who are in a vacuum in artificial intelligence education. Therefore, this study aims to develop a camp-type SW·AI education program for students in grades 4-6 of elementary school so that students in grades 4-6 of elementary school can acquire basic knowledge in artificial intelligence. For this, the meaning of SW·AI education in elementary school is defined and SW·AI contents to be dealt with in elementary school are: understanding of SW AI, 'principle and application of SW AI', and 'social impact of SW AI' was set. In addition, an attempt was made to link the set elements of elementary school SW AI education and learning with related subjects and units of textbooks currently used in elementary schools. As for the program used for education, entry, a software coding learning tool based on block coding, is designed to strengthen software programming basic competency, and all programs are designed to be operated centered on experience and experience-oriented participants in consideration of the developmental characteristics of elementary school students. In order for SW·AI education to be organized and operated as a member of the regular curriculum, it is suggested that research based on the analysis of regular curriculum contents and in-depth analysis of SW·AI education contents is necessary.

Predictability of Elementary Students' Self-Regulated Learning, GRIT and Parents Support on Computational Thinking and Learning Satisfaction in Online Software Education (온라인 SW교육에서 초등학생의 컴퓨팅사고력 및 학습만족도에 대한 자기조절학습, 그릿, 부모지원의 예측력 규명)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the prediction of self-regulated learning, GRIT and parents support on computational thinking and learning satisfaction in online software education. The participants were 71 elementary students who attended to an online software education which K university offered in Spring 2018. The 63 of cases were used to analyze by SPSS. The key findings were as follows: First, self-regulated learning and GRIT significantly predicted computational thinking. Second, self-regulated learning and GRIT significantly predicted learning satisfaction. This research suggested the implications for computational thinking and learning satisfaction in online software education.

The Effects of SW Convergence Education Applying Yut-nori on Knowledge and Information Processing Competency of Elementary Students (윷놀이를 활용한 SW융합교육이 초등학생의 지식정보처리역량에 미치는 효과)

  • This paper aimed to analyze the effect of SW convergence education applying Yut-nori on the knowledge information processing ability of elementary school students. A study was conducted targeting elementary school students in the islands of Jeollanam-do. A SW convergence education applying Yut-nori was developed and applied to the experimental group. A pre-test for knowledge and information processing competency was conducted, SW convergence education applying Yut-nori was conducted, and a post-test for knowledge and information processing competency was conducted. As a knowledge information processing capability test tool, the upper elementary school knowledge information processing competency measurement tool was used for analysis. According to the analysis, SW convergence education using Yut-nori is effective in improving knowledge and information processing competency, which is the ability of elementary school students to collect, analyze, evaluate, and use selected knowledge and information to solve problems efficiently. It was found to be effective in improving knowledge and information processing competency.

The Effects of Computational Thinking-based Instruction Integrating of Mathematics Learning and Assessment on Metacognition and Mathematical Academic Achievements of Elementary School Students (학습과 평가를 통합한 컴퓨팅 사고력 기반의 수업이 초등학생의 메타인지와 수학학업성취도에 미치는 영향)

  • The 2015 revised mathematics curriculum specified software education as a mandatory curriculum amid a trend in which the software environment was extended to daily life due to the fourth industrial revolution. It also calls for a paradigm shift in lessons that incorporate learning and evaluation by specifying a process-oriented assessment. This study focused on addition and subtraction classes based on computational thinking skills that integrate mathematics learning and evaluation. Two fourth grade classes of elementary schools in Seoul were selected to conduct a pre- and post- test of metacognition and mathematics achievement through quantitative research. Also, a mixed study was conducted to analyze students' activities and opinions in parallel. The results of the study confirmed that the computational thinking-based classes, which incorporate mathematics learning and evaluation, had a positive effect on the metacognition of elementary school students and the improvement of their achievement scores. In addition to those identified in this study, further studies on other factors are proposed.

  • 지난 20년간의 지속적인 투자와 장기간에 걸친 교육을 통해 육성된 우수한 인재 때문에 우리나라는 세계적인 IT강국이 되었다고 할 수 있다. 그러나 현 컴퓨터교육은 컴퓨터과학의 원리에 대한 체계적인 학습을 통해 창의적인 문제해결력과 논리적 사고력을 신장시키는 교육이 아니라 단순히 응용소프트웨어 및 학습용 소프트웨어의 기능을 익히는 형태로 이루어지고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초등학생을 대상으로 지식교육의 중심이라 할 수 있는 컴퓨터 교과 내용학의 한분야인 컴퓨터그래픽 중 비트맵 데이터 표현에 관한 교수-학습 방법을 설계하였다.
