This study is a investigation research to examine total 123 children's thought, perception and coping method about measles, with 62 children who had experienced the measles and 61 good health children in the school, which had spread to a primary school in kyoungsang-bukdo province. The data collection was done from December 6 to December 8. The analysis of data was SPSS(10.0) for descriptive statistics. The data were collected from total 123 children, 62 of them who had diagnosed measles on October, 2000, when the measles had ended, were used a purposive sampling, the others who had a good health were used a convenience sampling. From three to six grade students made out directly the questionaire in the way of self-questionaire, and from one to two grade students, made out answering the question which the researcher had read the items. The researchers call back the students to complement the contents about the items inadequate answers, so they raised the reliability. The results were as follows. 1. The results of observe carefully the measles infection degree by a sex, the boys(27.4%) were sick severely compared with girls(9.7%)were sick weakly compared with the boys(27.4%)(p〈0.01). 2. The 62.9 percents of infected children by measles thought that they were infected at school, regarded the doctors as a first judge, and had caught the measles because of their fault. The results of observe carefully, 33.8 percents children of infected by measles had have a secondary vaccination. To the question whether they go to institute or not while suffering from the measles, 35.5% children didn't go there since they had heard the fact they infected the measles. 3. To a question of asking if close mend caught the measles, what will they do, 65.1% children of caught the measles answer ‘I can't meet my friend'(p〈0.001). It was significant that infected children have more interests than didn't infected children. The 22% children of didn't catch the measles take great interested in health compare with the 12.2% children of infected the measles(p〈0.05). To the question if they listen the preservation of health broadcasting, 63.4% children answer ‘I listen well’. It was significant between the infected group and didn't infect group(p〈0.05). To the question if they delivery to the written information at home, it was significant between the infected group and didn't infect group(p〈0.05). 4. This study analyzed Korean children's books that include ethnically and racially diverse characters, focusing on representation of ethnic minority and cultural sensitivity. Drawing from fiction recommendations by Happy Morning Reading from 2005 to 2017, only 32 books out of 3,214 books, less than 1%, include people with racially and ethnically diverse background. Among the 32 books, 23 featured educative messages inspired by the belief of social justice; four could be categorized as so-called 'melting pot' books, five depicted stories featuring characters that respect different cultures from their own. The issue tackled in the stories differed with the economical standing of the character's country of origin. When a character or her/his parent is from a developing country, the main issues of the book were racial discrimination, bullying, hostility against foreign-born parents, or harsh experience of migrant workers. On the other hand, when a character or her/his parent is from a developed country, the plots often surround the character's hopes, wishes, or personal worries. Only one book was illustrated by a person with immigration background; the others were all written and illustrated by Koreans with no immigration background.

The aim of this study was to develop a community based participatory obesity control program and measure the effects of the program on obesity, exercise habit, eating habit and life habits among obese elementary school children. The community based participatory obesity control program was provided for the experimental group of $4^{th}$ grade elementary school students for 10 weeks. The program included obesity related health educations and counseling once a week, jump rope classes twice a week and folk game classes held once a week. Method: There were 24 students with obesity in the experimental and 27 in the control groups. The collected data were analyzed by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, ${\chi}^2$-test, independent t-test and repeated measure ANOVA. Results: After 10weeks of participation in the program, the experimental group showed significantly lower Body Mass Index (p<.001) and waist hip ratio (p=.036), significantly higher exercise habit (p=.004), eating habit (p=.003) and life habit (p=.001) than those in the control group. Conclusion: This study provides evidence that community based participatory obesity management program is effective nursing intervention for managing child obesity.
The purpose of this study is to identify the trajectories in the use time of children from community children centers and to examine the predictive factors and developmental factors related to each trajectory. The data were derived from the second stage of the Community Children Center Panel Survey using from the first wave (2014) to the third wave (2016). A total of 606 samples were selected from the forth to sixth grades of elementary school. Latent class growth model was employed to identify the trajectories, and the multinominal logistic regression and the logistic regression analysis were used to examine predictive factors and developmental factors. Main results indicated that three types of trajectory were identified: high using group, low using group, and high initial using-rapid declining group. Sex, parental supervision, and use duration were found to be significant predictors. Regarding developmental factors, children who constantly use the community children centers were more likely to increase academic performance and school adaptation. However, no significant results were found for aggression and delinquent behaviors. Based on these findings, this study have suggested the future direction of the community children center.

In this study, using data completed in the 11th year of the Panel Study on Korean Children, discourse management, situational adjustment and application ability, communication intention, and non-verbal communication were investigated by the child pragmatic language checklist tool in the field of cognitive and language development. It is to find a significant influence by analyzing the relationship between the factors of the observed variables on the latent variables of communication. The subject of this study is 4th grade elementary school students in 1,392 households, excluding 36 non-respondents to the language development question, out of 2150 households in the 11th year of the Panel Study on Korean Children(2018) data, 1428 households excluding 722 households who did not participate in the survey. As a result of the study, it was found that the total effect, direct effect, and indirect effect among the three latent variables except for communication intention were all significant in the effect analysis of the research model. Specifically, not only did nonverbal communication have a direct effect on discourse management ability, but also the indirect influence mediated by situational control and application ability was significant in the relationship between nonverbal communication and discourse management ability. As a result, it was found that the higher the non-verbal communication and situational adjustment and adaptation ability, the higher the discourse management ability.
This study sought to find out what the most ideal and appropriate native English speakers-Korean English teacher cooperative class model and the defining factors for organizing effective cooperative classes in the English education environment of our country. To achieve this goal, a total of 165 sixth graders of five elementary schools in Seoul were subject to the study. For about a month from April 1 to April 30, 2019, the survey and statistical analysis were conducted, including multiple return analysis, correlation analysis, cross analysis, and t/F verification. In summary, the results of the study are as follows. First, it was found that among the recognition of cooperative classes between native English speakers and Korean English teachers, it affected the defining factors in the order of class-related skills, task orientation, teaching-learning strategies, and motivation. Second, based on learner characteristics, the difference in perception of cooperative classes between native English speakers and Korean English teachers was verified, and the perception of native-Korean English teachers' cooperative classes was different depending on gender and the type of English cooperative classes currently participating, but the recognition of native-Korean English-Korean English cooperative classes, which were statistically significant, was not confirmed. Third, according to learner characteristics, the difference in the definition factors of the learner was verified and the difference between the sexes occurred, but the learner-defined factors according to the current type of English cooperative class did not occur. Also, there was no difference in the definition factors of scholars according to the type of English cooperative classes desired.

Objective : The aim of this study was to verify validity of the Activity Participation Assessment for school-age children. Methods : A questionnaire consisting of 30 items from the APA, 75 items from the PACS, and 55 items from the CAPE was administered to elementary school students. A total of 207 questionnaires were analyzed. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed to confirm the construct validity of the APA. Convergence validity and discriminant validity were verified with the average variance extracted (AVE) and the square of the correlation coefficient. The discriminant validity was the Pearson correlation coefficient of the APA, PACS, and CAPE. Results : The results of the analysis were as follows: 1) For construct validity, the goodness of fit of the modified hierarchical second-order factor model was found to be appropriate (p < .001), 2) For convergent validity, the AVE was higher than .50 for all latent variables, 3) For discriminant validity, the AVE of the latent variable was greater than the square of the correlation coefficient (0.239), 4) For concurrent validity, the correlation between the total sum of the APA and PACS scores showed a positive correlation in all domains, and the correlation coefficient ranged from .303 to .647 at a statistically significant level (p < .01), 5) The correlation coefficient between the total sum of the APA and CAPE scores was .490 for recreational activities, .329 for physical activities, .571 for social activities, .401 for skill-based activities, and .390 for self-improvement activities. All domains showed a positive correlation, and were statistically significant (p < .01). Conclusion : APA can be used as a valid assessment tool to measure the participation of school aged children.

Adolescents reach the game-use states of adaptive and maladaptive by the absorption to computer game. Authors claimed that the two states are commonly related with the time of game-use, and the degree of them are distinctive according to adolescent individuals, specifically their self-control propensity. Authors proposed a conceptual research model that Big Five personality types predict their self-control which moderates the relationships from game use-time to the maladaptive and adaptive states. The data to test its validity and reliability had been sampled 999 Korean students in elementary school, middle school, and high school. Resultingly, the openness and conscientiousness of the adolescents affected positively on the self-control, which moderated negatively the relationship from the game use time to the maladaptive use state, but the positive moderation on the relationships from game use time to adpative state was not significant. These results mean that we could apply teenager's Big Five personality type and their self-control traits as a tool for preventing teens from the overuse state like addiction.
Angle concept is widely used in all mathematics curriculums and is a basic concept in geometric domain. Since angle have a multifaceted and affect subsequent learning, it is necessary for students to understand various angle concepts. In this study, Singapore, U.K., Australia, and U.S. are selected as comparable countries to examine the angle-related contents and learning process that appear in the curriculum as a whole, and then look at the perspectives and the size aspects of angle in detail and give implications to the Korean curriculum based on them. According to the analysis, the four countries except Korea, supplement angle, complement angle, angles on a straight line, angles at a point, and finding angle were explicitly covered in the curriculum. And most countries gradually covered angle-related contents over several years, compared to Korea which intensively studied in a particular school year. In common, definition of angle was described as static, measurement of angle was described as dynamic. But in Korean curriculum, dynamic views on angles are described later and less compared to other countries, and range of angle size was narrower than in other countries'. From this comparison, this study suggest to discuss how to place and develop various contents of characteristics of angle in curriculum, address the angle using both static and dynamic perspectives, and introduce the angle size as the amount of rotation to learn the reflex angle, $180^{\circ}$, $360^{\circ}$ angle.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate airborne pollen counts, inhalant allergen sensitization rate, and allergic disease prevalence among elementary school children in Ulsan, South Korea during 2012-2018. Methods: Burkard samplers for pollen were installed on rooftops in suburban and urban areas in Ulsan. A 24-hour sampling of airborne allergens was conducted six days/week from January 1, 2013 to November 31, 2018. Skin prick tests were done with a total of 4,246 primary school students residing in urban and suburban areas in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018. This study examined sensitization to 20 major inhalant allergens. Results: The highest monthly counts of airborne pollen were observed in April and September each year. Among the pollen identified over the six years, pine showed the highest pollen counts (44.3%), followed by oak (22.3%), alder (6.3%) and Japanese hops (4.3%). Tree pollen predominated from March to June, and weed pollen predominated from August to October. Higher sensitization rates for inhalant allergens were observed in Dermatophagoides farinae (42.4%), Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (43.6%), cat fur (12.1%), birch (9.9%), oak (9.6%), and alder (8.7%). The inhalant allergen sensitization rate was highest in the group with comorbidity (asthma and/or rhinitis and atopic dermatitis), and respiratory allergic disease (asthma and/or rhinitis) was higher than that of atopic dermatitis. Conclusion: Both the counts of tree pollen in the air and the sensitization rate for tree pollen were high in Ulsan. The temporal change in respiratory allergic diseases was similar to that for the sensitization rate of tree pollen, such as oak. In the future, it is considered that additional continuous research on various inhalant allergens and pollen should be conducted.
