  • Game software planning is divided into initial game software planning and detailed game software planning. Technique, design, marketing should be considered in initial game software planning. Especially, technical considerations, platform and game engine and sewer construction and sewer architecture should have effect on development cost and time. So, game software designer should choose technical consideration which is suitable for purpose of game software planning. In this paper, we researched technical considerations in initial game software planning, focusing on platform, game engine, game service, network infrastructure.

  • Operation and maintenance cost of a rolling stock is generally higher than its acquisition cost. Therefore, it is necessary for reducing life cycle cost (LCC) to make rolling stocks easy and low costly for operation and maintenance. In addition, their operation and maintenance support systems should be effective and efficient. To accomplish this, operator should specify LCC requirements in the early stage of acquisition and make a contractor to provide the rolling stocks of low LCC. This article presents a procedure and a verifiable LCC model available in the general acquisition process where an operator specify requirements and a contractor provide the rolling stock meeting the requirements.

  • The accurate estimation of software development cost is important to a successful development in software engineering. This paper presents a software cost estimation method using a support vector machine. Support vector machine is one of the efficient techniques for classification, and it is the classification method of input data based on Maximum-Margin Hyperplane. But SVM has the problem of the selection of optimal parameters, because it is dependent on user's parameters. This paper selects optimized SVM parameters using advanced method, and estimates software development cost. The proposed approach outperform some recent results reported in the literature.

Optimal Solution for Transportation Problems (수송문제의 최적해)

  • This paper proposes an algorithm designed to obtain the optimal solution for transportation problem. The transportation problem could be classified into balanced transportation where supply meets demand, and unbalanced transportation where supply and demand do not converge. The archetypal TSM (Transportation Simplex Method) for this optimal solution firstly converts the unbalanced problem into the balanced problem by adding dummy columns or rows. Then it obtains an initial solution through employment of various methods, including NCM, LCM, VAM, etc. Lastly, it verifies whether or not the initial solution is optimal by employing MODI. The abovementioned algorithm therefore carries out a handful of complicated steps to acquire the optimal solution. The proposed algorithm, on the other hand, skips the conversion stage for unbalanced transportation problem. It does not verify initial solution, either. The suggested algorithm firstly allocates resources so that supply meets demand, in the descending order of its loss cost. Secondly, it optimizes any surplus quantity (the amount by which the initially allocated quantity exceeds demand) in such a way that the loss cost could be minimized Once the above reallocation is terminated, an additional arrangement is carried out by transferring the allocated quantity in columns with the maximum cost to the rows with the minimum transportation cost. Upon application to 2 unbalanced transportation data and 13 balanced transportation data, the proposed algorithm has successfully obtained the optimal solution. Additionally, it generated the optimal solution for 4 data, whose solution the existing methods have failed to obtain. Consequently, the suggested algorithm could be universally applied to the transportation problem.

  • Recently, the acquisition environment of the Korean defense weapon system is emphasizing more the importance of cost analysis in terms of efficient execution for defense acquisition budget. While cost analysis, however, is emphasized in law and process, its infrastructures are still insufficient We have been using computerized cost models to obtain an estimate at early phase of project. But those models have been developed by foreign companies, and so they have many limitations when using in Korean defense environment. For this reason, it began to sympathize that we need the development of the Korean version cost estimation model suitable for our defense industry environment, and now many studies are proceeding. In this study, we suggest Cost Estimating Relationships(CERs) developing methodologies which is key logics of Korean version cost estimation model. Especially, we proposed a new CER's development process depending upon data characteristics such as, multicolinearity, outlier, small samples and heteroscedasticity. Also, we presented a case study for artillery weapon system using these methods we developed. We find that these CERs could be verified through theoretical methods.

Cost Estimation Model for Introduction to Virtual Power Plants in Korea (국내 가상발전소 도입을 위한 비용 추정 모델)

  • The introduction of virtual power plants is actively being discussed to solve the problem of grid acceptability caused by the spread of distributed renewable energy, which is the key to achieving carbon neutrality. However, a new business such as virtual power plants is difficult to secure economic feasibility at the initial stage of introduction because it is common that there is no compensation mechanism. Therefore, appropriate support including subsidy is required at the early stage. But, it is generally difficult to obtain the cost model to determine the subsidy level because of the lack of enough data for the new business model. In this study, a survey of domestic experts on the requirements, appropriate scale, and cost required for the introduction of virtual power plants is conducted. First, resource composition scenarios are designed from the survey results to consider the impact of the resource composition on the cost. Then, the cost estimation model is obtained using the individual cost estimation data for their resource compositions using logistic regression analysis. In the case study, appropriate initial subsidy levels are analyzed and compared for the virtual power plants on the scale of 20-500MW. The results show that mid-to-large resource composition cases show 29-51% lower cost than small-to-large resource composition cases.

Comparison of LCOE of the Southwest Offshore Wind Farm According to Types and Construction Methods of Supporting Structures (해상풍력 지지구조물 형식 및 시공 방법에 따른 서남해 해상풍력실증단지의 균등화발전비용 비교)

  • In order to understand the economic feasibility of an offshore wind farm, this paper analyzed the differences in LCOE (levelized cost of energy) according to the support type and construction method of the substructure in terms of LCOE and sensitivity analysis was conducted according to the main components of LCOE. As for the site to be studied, the Southwest Offshore Wind Farm was selected, and the capital expenditures were calculated according to the size of the offshore wind farm and the installation unit. As a result of the sensitivity analysis, major components showed high sensitivity to availability, turbine related cost, weighted average cost of capital and balance of system related cost. Moreover, the post-piling jacket method, which was representatively applied to the substructure of the offshore wind farm in Korea, was selected as a basic plan to calculate the capital expenditures, and then the capital expenditures of the pre-piling jacket method and the tripod method were calculated and compared. As a result of analyzing the LCOE, it was confirmed that the pre-piling jacket method of the supporting structure lowers the LCOE and improves economic feasibility as the installation number of turbines increases.

  • For a successful construction project not only construction engineering and project management technology but also economic evaluation technique is required. Design and construction technologies are necessary to receive a project order. However, construction management technology which can be apply from the project initial phase to the project operation and management phase is required to create a benefit from the project. Construction management technology is one of the effective factors for project success. Economical and efficient cost management from the planning phase influences the project success. This study investigated cost flow and cost factors of domestic Sewage Treatment Plant project for systematic analysis of cost items following the entire project phase. Particularly, data modeling based on domestic Sewage Treatment Equipment maintenance cost DB was performed, and maintenance cost estimation trend line is suggested using Monte carlo Simulation Method to decrease uncertainty of actual results DB and for feasibility study.   • This paper suggests $p$-facility locations in $m$ candidate locations and $n$ areas in optimal cost side(population${\times}$shortest distance). This problem has been classified by NP-complete because there is not a polynomial time algorithm. In this paper, we suggests reverse-delete method that deletes a candidate facility one by one from $p=m$ until $p=2$. As a result of the proposed algorithm for the $5{\times}5$ and $7{\times}7$, the initial solution is obtained. For the Swain's 55-node network, we obtain the optimal solution through a solution improvement process with $p=4$ and it by using the initial solution with $p=5$.

  • During the design phase of a product, reliability and design engineers are called upon to evaluate the reliability of the system, The question of how to meet target reliability for the system arises when estimated reliability or cost is inadequate. This then becomes a problem of reliability allocation and system structure design. This study proposes the optimization methodology to achieve target reliability with minimum cost through construction of the cost function of system. In cost function, total cost means the sum of initial cost, repair cost and maintenance cost. This study constructs optimization problem about system structure design and reliability allocation using cost function. This problem constructed is solved by Multi-island Genetic Algorithm(MIGA), and applies to urban transit brake system. Current brake system of the urban transit is series system. Series system is the simplest and perhaps one of the most common system, but it demands high reliability and maintenance cost because all components must be operating to ensure system operation. Thus this study makes a comparative study by applying k-out-of-n system to brake system. This methodology presented can be a great tool for aiding reliability and design engineers in their decision-makings.
