  • This paper describes the design and the performance analysis of high speed induction motor considering end-ring using F.E.M.. To investigate the flux distribution, the induced rotor current, the designed high speed induction motor is analyzed by 3-D F.E.M.. Also, to identify the design specification, the performance characteristic is analyzed and estimated into the torque, the current and the output power at the static and the transient state.

  • In this paper, a speed sensorless algorithm for a high-speed induction motor is proposed. The proposed algorithm simply estimates rotor speed by integrating the deviation between the command current value of a controller and the real current value of the motor. To estimate rotor speed without a speed sensor, a fuzzy speed controller and a neural network speed estimator are applied. Computer simulation and implementation of the proposed system is described.

  • Permanent magnet high-speed machines are small size compared with general motor of the same power and so must minimize generating heat, as well rotor structure is simple and strong for born centrifugal force. Especially, Material of each part is given thermal limit therefore temperature distribution vary important. In this paper, heat transfer coefficient of permanent magnet high-speed machines with 5-kW 40,000 rpm is calculated and temperature distribution due to power loss is predicted by finite element analysis.

  • 최근의 소형 분산 전원의 보급 필요성의 커짐으로 전력과 열에너지를 동시에 생산, 이용함으로서 종합 에너지 효율이 높고 공해 배출 및 소음 특성이 우수한 초소형 가스터빈 발전 시스템에 대한 수요가 급증하고 있다. 본 논문은 마이크로 가스터빈 시스템과 그 제어장치의 동작 상태를 모니터링 및 제어하기 위한 마이크로 가스터빈 감시 제어장치와 사용자 인터페이스 프로그램을 소개한다. 마이크로 가스 터빈은 초고속(수만$\sim$10만 RPM)으로 회전하여 발전을 하므로 터빈 및 전동기 설계 기술과 더불어 고성능의 제어 시스템을 필요로 한다. 마이크로 가스터빈의 감시 제어 시스템은 터빈, 발전기 및 전력 변환장치를 제어하는 고성능의 DSP 제어장치들과 고속 직렬 통신 방식으로 연결되어 시스템의 제어 및 상태 감시를 위한 최적의 솔루션을 제공함으로서 마이크로 가스터빈의 개발자와 운용자의 보조 역할을 담당한다.

  • In this study, a controller which has a feedforward controller and two additional PI integrators was designed. But if a controller is used by only the integration of a feedforward controller and two additional PI integrators, the capability of a controller will decrease because the decoupling terms of current is feedback as the disturbance. Therefore the feedforward method with the decoupling compensation was proposed. The two additional PI integrators were replaced by two decoupling terms to simplify the calculation. The simulation and experimental using SynRM driving system were performed to verify the design of a improved decoupling feedforward controller.

  • 선형동기전동기(이하 LSM)를 기반으로 하는 자기부상열차의 경우 부상전자석의 대응면이 LSM의 고정자로 요철 형상을 가지고 있기 때문에 주행 시 부상력이 급변동하는 특징이 있다. 특히, LSM을 이용하는 초고속 자기부상열차의 경우, 고속주행을 위해 부상전자석을 대차에 직접 채결하는 방식을 채택하는데 이러한 체결방식 때문에 인접한 부상전자석들간의 운동 간섭이 심하여 대차에 피치운동이 심하게 발생한다. 이러한 문제들을 해소하기 위해 본 논문에서는 피치운동을 반영한 자기부상제어를 소개한다. 제안하는 부상제어는 개별 부상 전자석의 부상공극을 일정하게 유지시켜 줄 뿐만 아니라 인접한 부상전자석들간의 상대운동을 저감하는데 큰 효과가 있다. 제안한 개념을 시험용 자기부상열차에 적용하여 그 효용성을 검증한다.

  • High-speed permanent magnet machines are likely to be a key technology for electric drives and motion control systems for many applications, since they are conductive to high efficiency, high power density, small size and low weight. In high-speed machines, the permanent magnets are often contained within a retaining sleeve. However, the sleeve and the magnets are exposed to high order flux harmonics, which cause parasitic eddy current losses. Rotor losses of high-speed machines are of great importance especially in high-speed applications, because losses heat the rotor, which is often very compact construction and thereby difficult to cool. This causes a danger of demagnetization of the NdFeB permanent magnets. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the prediction of the rotor losses. This paper is concerned with the rotor losses in permanent magnet high-speed machines that are caused by permeance variation due to stator slotting. First, the flux harmonics are determined by double Fourier analysis of the normal flux density data over the rotor surface. And then, the rectilinear model was used to calculate rotor losses in permanent magnet machines. Finally, Poynting vector have been used to investigate the rotor eddy current losses of high-speed Permanent magnet machine.

초소형 압축기용 초고속 전동기 내부의 복합 열전달 해석 (A Numerical Study on the Conjugate Heat Transfer inside a High Speed Motor for a Small Radial Compressor)

  • In a small centrifugal compressor system, a high-speed motor needs to be developed to drive impellers directly. Heat is generated by both electrical heating due to copper coil resistance and aerodynamic heating in the gap between the rotor and stator in a high-speed motor. Removal of the heat is essential to the design of such motors since most magnetic materials are brittle and can be easily fractured by the heat. In the present study the cooling flow fields and temperature distributions are analyzed by using computational fluid dynamics simulation for a high-speed motor which has air cooling system as well as water cooling system. In the analysis, a conjugate heat transfer problem is solved by considering both convective heat transfer in the cooling system and conduction heat transfer in solid parts. Based on design drawings of a motor, air cooling system and water cooling system are analyzed to obtain temperature field and thus to check the coiling system performance. Also the cooling performance are studied for various flow rates of cooling air and water at the inlets.

  • Recently, an interest in a hybrid system combining only the merits of the conventional wheel-rail system and Maglev propulsion system is growing as an alternative to high-speed maglev train. This hybrid-type system is based on wheel-rail method, but it enables to overcome the speed limitation by adhesion because it is operated by a non-contact method using a linear motor as a propulsion system and reduce the overall construction costs by its compatibility with the conventional railway systems. Therefore, the design and characteristic analysis of a coreless-type superconducting Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) for 600km/h very high speed railway system are conducted in this paper. The designed coreless-type superconducting LSMs are the distributed winding model, the concentrated 1 layer winding model and the concentrated 2 layer winding model, respectively. In addition, the characteristic comparison studies on each LSM are conducted.
