  • The purpose of this study was to analyze longitudinal effect of physical education activity (PEA) score on self-rated health evaluation change (SHEC). This study used hierarchical linear and nonlinear models to investigate of the SHEC during the transition into adolescence (from middle school 1st to high school 2nd grade). Using the Korea children and youth panel survey (KCYPA), data were collected over the course of five years (from 2010 and 2014). HLM 6.8 computer program was used to analyze the data. The result were as follows. First, boys' SHEC increased across the five years, and girls' SHEC decreased across the five years. Second, boys' the self-rated health was increased across the three years and decreased across the two years. Third, girls' the self-rated health was increased across the two years and decreased across the three years. Fourth, the PEA score of 1st grade of high school showed a significant positive association with the boys' SHEC. Fifth, the PEA score of 1st grade of middle school showed a significant negative association with the girls' SHEC.

  • This study aims to examine the relationship between physical education class activity of youth, smartphone dependence and school life adaptation. The data set of Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) by National Youth Policy Institute was reanalyzed for this study. The subjects of this study were 2,351 second grade middle school students from 2011. The data were coded with the use of the statistics program on Windows, SPSS 23.0. To analyse the data, descriptive analysis, reliability analysis, one-way ANOVA and regression analysis were employed. The findings of this research are as follows. First, the difference between the activity hours of youth physical education classes and the reliance on smartphones is less dependent on smartphones as they participate enthusiastically in physical education classes. Second, the difference of physical education class activity time and school life adaptation among adolescents was more positive for school life adaptation as learning activity, peer relationship and teacher relationship were more active. third, the dependence of youth on smartphones has a positive effect on learning activities and school rules as the reliance on smartphones is low.

  • This study is aimed to examine what school sports club activities mean to middle school students. To attain this objective, this study first investigated what kinds of peer culture school sports club activities form, and second, what kind of time school sports club is for the students. For the research method, a qualitative research method was employed combining in-depth interview and participatory observation. The results showed that first, the students were creating the peer culture of games, communication, and relaxation through school sports club activities. Though fighting sometimes, the boy students were really enjoying sports games with their friends according to their own rules. On the other hand, girls were enjoying the relationship with friends, more focusing on communication and relaxation than on playing sports game itself. Second, the students thought of school sports club activities as an exit. Those students who lacked leisure time regarded school sports club activity as a time to play with friends, to escape from the pressure of good grades, and different from physical education.

Methods : Participants were recruited 8 individual with intellectual disability in a residential care facility in Yong-in city and the study period lasted 12 weeks, from september 1 to November 30 in 2015. As a program, participants participated a muscle strengthening exercise using a Gym-ball and a elastic band. In order to analyze leisure time-use, time questionnaire was used every month to analyze total time and exercise frequency. Also, analyze the effects of leisure activity performance, Canadian Occupational Performance Measure(COPM) was used to performance and satisfaction of dynamic leisure activity. Collected data was encoded by item and analyzed with SPSS ver18.0. Descriptive statistics were used for the participants' general information. A non-parametric test (the Friedman test) was used to analyze leisure time-use. A non-parametric test (the Wilcoxon's signed ranked test) was used to analyze to the effects of leisure activity performance. Statistical significance was accepted outside the 95% confidence interval. Results : The results of the total time and the exercise frequency showed significant increase. Also, the results of the performance and the satisfaction showed significant increase. Conclusion : Thus, the participation of the rehabilitation sports program is a vital element to lead to change leisure time use and leisure activity performance for intellectual disabilities residing in a residential care facility. Also, through the providing and the developing a regular rehabilitation sports program systematically, intellectual disabilities residing in a residential care facility have a higher quality of life and satisfaction of the daily routine and life in a residential care facility.

  • COVID-19, which started in December 2019, has had a great impact on our lives in general, including politics, economy, society, and culture, and activities in sports and arts have also been significantly reduced. In the case of sports, sports for all fields in which ordinary citizens participate were particularly affected, and cases of infection in places closely related to people's lives, such as gyms, table tennis, and badminton clubs, also amplified the social fear of the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed news articles related to sports for all at the time when COVID-19 was first spread, and investigated what issues were emerging and being discussed in the sports for all field under the COVID-19 situation. Specifically, we collected news articles dealt with sports for all issues under the COVID-19 situation from Korea's leading portal news sites and identified key sports for all issues by performing topic modeling on these articles. Through the analysis, we found meaningful issues such as COVID-19 outbreak in sports facilities and support for sports activities. In addition, through wordcloud analysis of these major issues, we visually understood the issues and identified the changes in these issues over time.

  • The purpose of this study is to test the mediating effect of coping plan and action plan in the relation between leisure-time physical activity(LTPA) intention and exercise behavior and to extend the literature in theory of planned behavior. We examined the mediating role of implementation plan-namely coping plan and action plan in the effect of intention to physical activity on exercise behavior. To attain the goal of study, we asked collegiate students (n=253; male=118, female=105) report their intention toward LTPA, coping plan, action plan, and self-reported exercise behavior. Collected data was analyzed using statistical program software (i.e., SPSS, AMOS) for SEM and mediation analyses. The results revealed that intention toward LTPA was positively related to implementation plan (coping plan and action plan) and exercise behavior. Collegiate students' intention toward LTPA positively predicted their exercise behavior mediated by implementation plans. Specifically, LTPA intention among collegiate students predicted their exercise behavior via coping plan and action plan. The findings showed that coping plan and action plan partially mediated in the relation between LTPA intention and exercise behavior. In conclusion, students' intention to be getting physical active in leisure-time physical activity explains lifetime physical activity or the level of recent exercise behavior possibly via coping plan (e.g., how to overcome barriers to exercise) and action plan (e.g., when and where I exercise and get physically active). The conceptualization of coping plan and action plan in implementation plans and test of its model better to explain the intention-behavior gap would help exercise instructors or practitioners effectively develop their plans and strategies toward targeted exercise behavior.

  • Schools where adolescents spend most of their time should develop a variety of activity programs to encourage them to participate in more physical activities in physical education time, break time, lunch time, and after-school time. To support the direction, educational policy and students and parents' perception on physical education should be changed, and organized plans should be developed through cooperation with experts of communities.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of participation of sports activities on job duties by analyzing job satisfaction of workers in rehabilitation hospital. From April to May 2015, 400 nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and administrative staffs were selected from eight rehabilitation hospitals in Busan Metropolitan City. Analysis was performed by t-test, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha analysis, one-way ANOVA and Duncan tests. correlation analysis and regression analysis were conducted to obtain the following conclusions. As a result of the difference of job satisfaction according to participation form of sports activity, there was a significant difference in all factors such as exercise time, exercise frequency, sports item, and exercise period. As the exercise time and exercise frequency were higher and the athletic career was higher, Among the items, participation of aquarobic and aerobic was found to increase job satisfaction. Regression analysis showed that self - evaluation, job orientation, job commitment, and job satisfaction had positive effects among the five factors of job satisfaction. There is a significant difference.
