An Analysis of 'One Book's Selected in Twenty Years of 'One Book, One City' Reading Campaigns in the U.S.A. (미국 '한 책, 한 도시' 독서운동 20년과 '한 책'의 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the direction of the community reading campaign in the U.S.A. known as 'One Book, One City' reflected in the books selected for this campaign for the past 20 years in terms of their classification numbers, subject headings, publication dates, and genres. Analyzed are the author and state lists of 'One Book, One City' Reading Promotions Projects available from the website of the LC (Library of Congress) Center for the Books, and bibliographic records of 735 books selected in only one 'One Book' program, accessed from LC OPAC. Major findings include continuing influences of the all-time favorite 'One Book' selections, including To Kill a Mockingbird and the extension of their span of life through The Big Read, preference for the recent publications, importance of P (Literatures and Languages) Class (530 titles, 72.1%) and PS(American Literatures) subclass (307 titles, 57.9%) in the LC Classification Scheme, distribution of books in 43 genres, including domestic fiction, historical fiction, and psychological fiction, etc., the use of 535 unique LC subject headings and much interests in "City and town life" (10 titles) and "World War, 1939-1945" (8 titles), and prominence of subject groups which begin with "African American..." and "Woman..." out of 96 groups of subject headings. It is found that the subjects and focus of the selected books expand from integration, understanding, integrity to human rights, environment, peace, etc. The limitations of this study is that the influence of the selected books and the changes in communities are not properly analyed.

A Bibliographical Study on JeongSa-Gongsin-Nokgwon (『정사공신녹권(定社功臣錄券)』의 서지적(書誌的) 연구(硏究))

  • Jeongsa-gongshin-nokgwon (定社功臣錄券) is a document issued during the reign of King Taejong. The king appointed the vassals of merit who suppressed the First Rebel of Prince in 1398 as Jeongsa-gongshin (定社功臣) and gave them titles and rewards as described in the Jeongsa-gongshin-nokgwon document. This study explores the reasons and process of the rewards given to the vassals by way of the existing copy of Jeongsa-gongshin-nokgwon. The form and organization of the document were analyzed in detail. The titles given to the vassals were classified into each grade and their characteristics were sought. The content of the document was also analyzed in detail. The result of the study suggested the following. Jeongsa-gongshin-nokgwon is a manuscript and it consists of 3 parts: introduction (卷首), main text (本文), and ending (卷末). Names and titles given to 29 vassals of merit are listed of which 12 vassals were first grade and 17 vassals were second grade. The ranks of first-grade vassals of merit were higher than the ranks of second-grade vassals of merit. In the first-grade vassals of merit, there were relatively more relatives of the king. The rewards and privileges given to them were different, depending on their grade. The content of regulation was also different within the same grade, depending on the person. The formation and names of government officers, who worked in the temporary office in charge of rewards to the vassals of merit (Gongshin-dogam, 功臣都監), were verified by the approval signatures and last names found in Jeongsa-gongshin-nokgwon.

Teaching Behavior Elements and Analysis of Instructional Types Generated in Elementary Science Teacher's Classroom (초등 과학 교사들의 수업에서 나타나는 교수 행동 요소와 수업 유형 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the elements of teaching behavior and classify instructional types through the teacher's classroom observation in elementary school science classrooms. 18 elementary school teachers were selected at Seoul city and Kyungkido. The topic of lesson was 'How the weight of object is changed according to the shape to sink in the water'. Each class was recorded and analyzed that. The teaching behavior elements were used inductional analysis method. The instruction types were classified into instructional organization, teaching strategies in teaching-learning processes, the level of openness of inquiry at science classroom. The validity and reliability of the data were analyzed by 7 science educators. The results of the analysis of the teachers discourse showed that there are 23 types of teaching behavior elements. Used teaching behavior elements revealed the differences from each teacher. There were 7 types among the 12 types of class and the most common types of instruction were unsystematic, teacher-centered, and guided-inquiry. The result showed that guided inquiry type was found more than open inquiry type and teacher-centered instructional, content-centered instructional, superficial inquiry process showed characteristic.

A Quantitative Analysis of Scholarly Monograph Publishing by University Presses in Korea (국내 대학출판부의 학술단행본 출판에 대한 양적 분석)

  • Scholarly monographs have been a main vehicle for knowledge representation and transfer as well as an important research outcome. University presses have long been considered as the last bastion for scholarly monographs that have low commercial prospect. Until now there has not been a systematic data analysis regarding scholarly monograph production by university presses in Korea. In this paper, we collected bibliographic records of university presses' monograph publications between 1950 and 2015 using the National Library of Korea's online catalog system. A total of 21,015 records were used in the analysis. In particular, for monographs published between 2001 and 2015, we categorized them into scholarly monographs and non-scholarly monographs. University presses' publishing showed sharp increase during the 1990's but is in decline after its peak in 2005. University presses seem to have engaged in publishing more non-scholarly monographs than scholarly monographs by a ratio of 6:4. Large university presses in size seem to produce higher proportions of scholarly monographs than smaller presses. In terms of authoring types, single authorship accounts for the highest proportion and on the increase. However, edited books are losing ground as translated books seem to hold steady. Monographs in social sciences have been published more frequently than any other subject areas as there seem to be significant discrepancies among subject areas in terms of the scholarly monograph proportion.

백악기 영동층군에서 산출된 구과류 화석의 특징과 고기후적 의미

  • 충청북도 영동 지역에 분포하는 영동층군은 옥천변성대에 있는 소규모 퇴적분지중의 하나이다. 영동층군의 지질과 고생물에 관한 연구는 옥천변성대의 조구조운동과 관련한 퇴적분지 발달 규명과 아울러 경상분지와의 상호대비가 가능케 함으로써 이 시기의 한반도의 지질을 이해하는데 있어 매우 중요한 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있다(김규봉 등, 1986). 영동층군의 층서고생물학적 연구는 김규봉 등(1986), 전희영 등(1993), 최성자 등(1995)등의 연구가 있다. Shimamura (1927)는 영동층군에서 케이로레피드과(Cherolepidiaceae)에 속하는 식물화석의 산출을 처음 보고하였다. 이후 전희영 등(1993), 최성자 등(1995)이 영동층군에서 케이로레피드과에 속하는 식물화석을 다시 보고함으로써 영동층군에서 식물화석이 많이 산출될 가능성이 확인되었다. 본 연구에서는 식물화석의 연구에 중점을 두고 야외지질조사를 통하여 영동층군의 기존 화석산지와 새로운 화석산지로부터 많은 식물 화석을 채집하였다. 식물 화석은 모두 인상화석으로 보존되었으며 세일층의 층리면에 평행하게 밀집된 상태로 나타나지만 대부분 파편상으로 나타난다. 식물화석은 고환경이나 고생태에 대한 중요한 단서를 제공하고 과거의 기후를 알려주는 중요한 지시자로 사용되고 있다. 특히 케이로레피드과의 식물은 백악기의 대표적인 고기후의 지시자로서 잘 알려져 있다. 케이로레피드과의 식물은 분류상 구과류에 속하며 백악기에 걸쳐 세계적인 분포를 보이고 있는 화석이다. 본 연구는 영동층군에서 산출된 구과류 화석을 대상으로 고생물학적 연구를 수행하여 산출화석의 특징을 기재하고 체계적으로 분류함으로써 산출화석의 고식물학적 의미를 밝히고자 하였다. 또한 산출 화석의 특징과 지질학적 특징을 통해 중생대 백악기 영동지역의 고기후를 해석함으로써 고기후적 및 고생태학적 의미를 연구해 보고자 하였다.에서는 시스템 등급에 영향을 준다. 향후에는 더욱 더 다양한 상호의존 모델들이 정량화될 필요성이 있다고 본다. 진행하였다. 줄여서 보다 더 정확하고, 지능적인 규칙구성요소 추출 방법론을 제시하고 구현하여 지식관리자의 규칙습득에 대한 부담을 줄여 주고자 한다. 도움을 받을 수 있게 되었다.을 거치도록 되어있다. 교통주제도는 국가의 교통정책결정과 관련분야의 기초자료로서 다양하게 활용되고 있으며, 특히 ITS 노드/링크 기본지도로 활용되는 등 교통 분야의 중요한 지리정보로서 구축되고 있다..20{\pm}0.37L$, 72시간에 $1.33{\pm}0.33L$로 유의한 차이를 보였으므로(F=6.153, P=0.004), 술 후 폐환기능 회복에 효과가 있다. 4) 실험군과 대조군의 수술 후 노력성 폐활량은 수술 후 72시간에서 실험군이 $1.90{\pm}0.61L$, 대조군이 $1.51{\pm}0.38L$로 유의한 차이를 보였다(t=2.620, P=0.013). 5) 실험군과 대조군의 수술 후 일초 노력성 호기량은 수술 후 24시간에서 $1.33{\pm}0.56L,\;1.00{\ge}0.28L$로 유의한 차이를 보였고(t=2.530, P=0.017), 술 후 72시간에서 $1.72{\pm}0.65L,\;1.33{\pm}0.3L$로 유의한 차이를 보였다(t=2.540, P=0.016). 6) 대상자의 술 후 폐환기능에 영향을 미치는 요인은 성별로 나타났다. 이에 따른 폐환기능의 차이를 보면, 실험군의 술 후 노력성 폐활량이 48시간에 남자($1.78{\pm}0.61L$)가 여자($1.27{\pm}0.45L$)보다 더 높게 나타났으며 (t=2.170, P=0.042), 72시간에도 역시 남자($2.1

  • Jeong-Kuk Wonjong Gongsin-Nokgwon(靖國原從功臣錄券) is a book that recorded the titles of position and the names of retainers who helped the King Jung-Jong's revolution. This study aims to analyze the existing two books of Jeong-Kuk Wonjong Gongsin-Nokgwon, in order to figure out the reasons of grant, structure and forms, the characteristics of meritorious retainers' official positions and social status. The result shows that, Jeong-Kuk Wonjong Gongsin-Nokgwon was printed with the Choju-Gapin (初鑄甲寅) letter metal movable types. This book was composed of the beginning(卷首), the body(本文), and the end(卷末). Jeong-Kuk Wonjong meritorious retainers formed the total of 3,340 persons(1st grade: 418 persons, 2nd grade: 1,016 persons, 3rd grade: 1,906 persons) with 432 official titles. Also an analysis of their social status confirmed that 2,376 persons were "Yang-ban(兩班)" which constituted the largest group(2,376 persons: 71.1%), "Jung-in(中人)" were second group(494 persons: 14.8%), "Yang-in(良人)" were 272 persons(8.2%) and "Chun-in(賤人)" were 198 persons(5.9%).

Fermentation Process and Physiochemical Characteristics of Yakju(Korean cleared rice wine) with Addition of Ginseng Powder (인삼박을 첨가한 약주의 제조 및 이화학적 특성)

  • The characteristics and quality of Yakju with addition of ginseng powder originated in Choongchungdo were evaluated. At result, pH was decreased at the beginning stage of two stages fermentation and then slowly increased. Total acidity were increased in the cases of all (A), (B) and (C) during the fermentation. (A) group used Nuruk, crude enzyme and powder yeast showed the highest pH of 7.08 and total acidity of 0.84 at the 4th day of fermentation. The alcohol contents of B(21.0%) and C(20.4%) used cultured yeast were higher than A(19.0%) used powder yeast at the 4th day of fermentation. Also, inhibition against alcohol fermentation by ginseng powder wasn't showed and amino nitrogen contents were higher in (A) and (C) with addition of crude enzyme. Free sugar were the highest in (A) used both Nuruk and crude enzyme such as glucose of 599.16, maltose of 129.11mg%. Free amino acids were much more in A(580.02mg%) than in B(527.48mg%) and C(538.74mg%). from the sensory evaluation, desirable color and flavor qulity for 40 ages was (A) and (B) which was used Nuruk, and that for 20 ages was (C) which was used crude enzyme. However the best taste and overall preference was (B) for 20 and 40 ages of all. Therefore to produce high quality Yauju and commercialize, studies of fermentation process in Yakju should proceed later.

  • Active stormwater management is essential to minimize the impact of urban development and improve the hydrological cycle system. In recent years, the Low Impact Development (LID) technique for urban stormwater management is attracting attention as a reasonable alternative. The Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) is actively used in urban hydrological cycle improvement projects as it provides simulation functions for various GI (Green Infra) facilities through its LID module. However, in order to simulate GI facilities using SWMM, there are many difficulties in setting up complex watersheds and deploying GI facilities. In this study, a model that can evaluate the performance of GI facilities is proposed while implementing the core hydrological process of GI facilities. Since the proposed model operates based on hydrological routing, it can not only reflect the infiltration, storage, and evapotranspiration of GI facilities, but also quantitatively evaluate the effect of improving urban hydrological cycle by GI facilities. The applicability of the proposed model was verified by comparing the results of the proposed model with the results of SWMM. In addition, a discussion of errors occurring in the SWMM's permeable pavement system simulation is included.

Content Analysis of the Milk-Related Nutrition Education Found in Elementary and Secondary School Textbooks (${\cdot}$중등학교 교과서의 우유 영양교육 내용 분석)

  • This study analyzed the contents of the milk-related nutrition education currently found in elementary and secondary school textbooks. An attempt was made to develop the basic data needed to in the future provide students with pertinent in formation regarding the nutritional attributes of milk, as well as the desired consumption behavior, within the school education system. To attain the objectives of this study, the researcher analyzed the contents of the milk-related nutrition education described in elementary and secondary school textbooks(1st-10th grades). Based on the results of this analysis, measures were developed to organize the contents of the milk-related nutrition education that should be taught within the school education system. At the elementary school level, milk-related nutrition education was included in the textbooks for the integrated curriculum for the lower grades, as well as in the science, practical arts, and physical education textbooks for every grade, except the End and the 6th. The practical arts textbook, which contained basic knowledge related to the nutritional attributes of milk and the proper method in which to intake milk, was found to be the one which dealt with milk-related nutrition education in the most detail. At the secondary school level. milk-related nutrition education was included in the 7th-10th grade textbooks for the science, technology and home economics, and physical education courses. In this instance. the technology and home economics textbooks were the ones which were found to contain the most milk-related nutrition education covering such aspects as the nutritional attributes of milk, the special characteristics of milk as a food. how to select and store milk. as well as how to use milk as part of a balanced diet in everyday life. However, as was the case at the elementary school levet the repetitious nature of the milk-related contents found in the textbooks for various school subjects and at different school levels, as well as the inefficient hierarchical structure in which the knowledge is presented, were identified as key problems. There is a need to establish the appropriate milk-related nutrition education for each school level. The need to develop education programs, which could be linked to the school subjects and special milk programs, was also emphasized.

Development and Application of Health Belief Model Based Milk Education Program for Elementary, Middle, and High School Students (건강 신념 모델에 근거한 초.중.고등학교 우유 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop health belief model based various milk education program as print education media and apply to elementary, middle, and high schools. The subjects were 432 students(124 elementary, 122 middle, 186 high school students). We designed one group pretest-posttest study model. The data were obtained from pre and post-study with self-administered questionnaires. Before applying this education program, we evaluated the degree of awareness on milk. Their awareness on milk was very low, 35.5% lower elementary, 32.7% higher elementary, 52.5% middle, and 54.3% high school students were answered they don't know the milk well. After they had implemented milk education program, their recognition on milk had changed that milk is nutritious as supplementary food. And their reasons for drinking milk were also changed that 'they want to eat it' in elementary school students, 'they want to be healthier' in middle school students, and 'they want to be taller' in high school students. Their nutrition knowledge score showed a significant increase(p<0.05). As a results. milk nutrition education has improved nutrition knowledge and recognition on milk in elementary, middle, and high school students. To improve their milk eating behaviors, nutrition education programs will have to be continued.
