Rural Revitalization through the Locavore Movement (로카보어(Locavore)운동을 통한 농촌 활성화 방안)

  • 먹거리 안전에 대한 우려가 커져가면서, 무엇을 먹을 것인지 식료품을 어떻게 구매할 것인지에 대한 소비자들의 관심이 증가하고 있다. 미국에서 2000년 중반부터 생겨난 신조어인 '로카보어 (locavore)'는 이와 같은 현상을 반영한 것이다. 이 용어는 지역이라는 의미의 '로컬(local)'과 먹는다는 뜻의 'vore'에서 파생된 것으로서 '지역에서 생산된 음식을 먹는 사람'이라는 의미를 가지고 있다. 건강에 좋은 음식을 소비하기 위한 적절한 장치로 로카보어 운동은 여러 가지 방식으로 음식 공급 체계를 유지할 수 있다. 농촌경제는 이어지는 FTA체결 등 시장 개방의 압력으로 인해 쇠퇴 일로에 있다. 이와 같은 관점에서 보면 지금은 지역농업을 살리기 위한 보다 효과적이고 실질적인 대응책을 개발할 시점이다. 따라서 로카보어 운동을 활성화함으로써 농촌 공동체는 사회적 결속을 강화할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 지역경제 활성화를 꾀할 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 경기도 포천을 로카보어 운동의 한국형 모델로 선정하였다. 이는 포천이 서울과 근접해 있으며 관광객들이 자주 찾는 관광콘텐츠가 지역에 산재해 있을 뿐만 아니라 도 농복합도시로서 다수의 농장과 경작지로 구성되어있기 때문에 인근 대도시의 농축산물 수요를 충족할 수 있는 충분한 농축산물 산지라는 것이 장점이다. 이러한 측면에서 포천은 품질 좋은 지역의 농축산물의 공급처로서 '농축산 플랫폼(agro-platform)'의 구축을 체계화함으로써, 한국형 로카보어 운동의 중추적인 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다.

Structural Analysis and Measurement of Turbopump Casings (터보펌프 케이징의 구조해석 및 측정)

  • The present paper describes transient thermal and mechanical analyses of a lox/kerosene type turbopump in a LRE(Liquid Rocket Engine). Turbopumps are used to pressurize propellants to achieve higher specific impulse of LRE. The turbopump under development has been designed and verified by structural analyses using finite element methods. Some parts of the turbopump operate under cryogenic environments, while the others work under ambient and high temperature environments. Therefore, numerical analysis at a turbopump system level is essential. In this study, casing assemblies of lox pump and fuel pump were analyzed to determine strength test and air-tightness test conditions. Also, some operational stress and strains of fuel pump casings were measured and analyzed. Based on these results, stress concentration of fuel pump casings during the operation could be successfully predicted.

Feasibility Study of the Application of Infinite Tube Probe in High Temperature Environment (고온 환경에서 무한 튜브 검출기의 적용에 관한 타당성 연구)

  • Dynamic pressure sensor used in liquid rocket engine combustor and gas turbine is recess-mounted usually because it should work in high temperature environment. Although recess-mounted method can protect it from combustion gas in high temperature, tube resonance occurs in a tube-cavity system. To reduce it, the infinite tube probe(ITP) was introduced in this study. The ITP model suggested in previous literature was validated with experimental data and frequency response characteristics were analyzed. Guidelines for designing the ITP were suggested as frequency response profiles varied with geometric information and physical properties using this model.

Durability Evaluation on the Air-Braking Release Failure Proof Valve of Cargo Train (화물열차 공기제동 완해불량 방지 밸브의 내구성 평가)

  • Cargo train braking uses the pressure changes in the air braking pipe to operate the braking tightening and releasing service repeatedly. Air-braking release failure means partial braking caused by a failure of the variable load valve after the driver handling the brake release. This phenomenon causes wheel flaws while driving a wagon, resulting in wheel breakage or train derailment. This study developed the air-braking release failure proof valve considering the technical requirements of the railway operation corporations. In addition, a durability test of the valve was carried out using a braking performance simulator, and its operating performance was evaluated from the pneumatic history under cyclic braking conditions. The warranty life of this valve was assessed by performing 160,000 cycles of testing of 12 prototypes in accordance with the zero-failure test method, considering the number of braking cycles while driving the wagon. During the durability test, the pneumatic input time, output time, and release velocity were almost constant. The warranty life of this valve was 59,860 times the 95% confidence level, which means that it can be operated without trouble for four years when the valve is installed in the bogie of the wagon.

Reliability Prediction of Failure Modes due to Pressure in Solid Rocket Case (고체로켓 케이스 내압파열 고장모드의 신뢰도예측)

  • In this paper, an efficient technique is developed to predict failure probability of three failure modes(case rupture, fracture and bolt breakage) related to solid rocket motor case due to the inner pressure during the mission flight. The overall procedure consists of the steps: 1) design parameters affecting the case failure are identified and their uncertainties are modelled by probability distribution, 2) combustion analysis in the interior of the case is carried out to obtain maximum expected operating pressure(MEOP), 3) stress and other structural performances are evaluated by finite element analysis(FEA), and 4) failure probabilities are calculated for the above mentioned failure modes. Axi-symmetric assumption for FEA is employed for simplification while contact between bolted joint is accounted for. Efficient procedure is developed to evaluate failure probability which consists of finding first an Most Probable Failure Point(MPP) using First-Order Reliability Method(FORM), next making a response surface model around the MPP using Latin Hypercube Sampling(LHS), and finally calculating failure probability by employing Importance Sampling.

The Displacement Limit at the End of an Approach Slab for a Railway Bridge with Ballastless Track (콘크리트궤도 부설 교량의 접속슬래브 단부 처짐한도에 관한 연구)

  • The transition area between a bridge and an earthwork is one of the weakest area of track because of the track geometry deterioration caused unequal settlement of backfill of abutment. In case of a ballastless track, the approach slab could be installed to prevent such a phenomenon. But, if there is occurred the inclined displacement on the approach slab by a settlement of the foundation or formation, the track is also under the inclined displacement. And this defect causes reducing the running stability of a vehicle, the riding comfort of passengers, and increasing the track deteriorations by excessive impact force acting on the track. In this study, parametric studies were performed to investigate the displacement limit on the approach slab to avoid such problems. The length and the amount of unequal settlement of approach slab were adopted as parameter for numerical analysis considering vehicle-track interaction. Car body accelerations, variations of wheel force, stresses in rail, and uplift forces induced on fastener clip were investigated. From the result, resonable settlement limit on the end of an approach slab according to slab length was suggested.

Molding Analysis for the Production of Large Sun Visors in Vehicles (차량용 대형 선바이저 생산을 위한 성형해석)

  • Diverse accessories are used in automobiles, such as navigation systems, front and rear cameras, spoilers, and sun visors. Sun visors block sunlight so that drivers can drive safely with a better view, and they are used in many automobile designs. However, when large plastic products are manufactured using injection molding, there are many difficulties that develop, like weld lines, short shots, flow marks, imperfections, and distortion. In this study, a CAE simulation was conducted based on previous results to predict potential problems in the injection molding of large products. The flow characteristics up to complete charge for the melting resins were captured using a computer-aided engineering simulation. The temperature departure on the front part of a flow was about $10^{\circ}C$ and very stable. The practical ejecting time of the cold runner was about 70 seconds in the simulation. Finally, the capability of a suitable injection machine was calculated and recommended by prediction of the injection pressure and the die clamping force.

  • 최근 휴대폰, 노트북 등과 같은 소형 멀티미디어 기기의 사용이 증가함에 따라 전자 패키징 산업은 경박단소화를 요구하고 있습니다. 더불어 전기적 신호의 손실을 줄이기 위해 전기, 전자산업체에서는 가볍고 굴곡성이 우수한 연성인쇄회로기판(Flexible Printed Circuit Board, FPCB)과 가격이 싸고 신뢰성이 입증된 경성인쇄회로기판(Rigid Printed Circuit Board, RPCB)의 전극간 접합에 많은 관심을 보이고 있습니다. 기존에 연성인쇄회로기판과 경성인쇄회로기판을 접합하는 방식으로는 connector를 이용한 체결법이 사용되고 있지만 완성품의 부피가 커지고 자동화 공정이 힘들며 I/O 개수가 제한적이어서 신호전달에 취약한 단점이 있습니다. 또한, 최근 FPCB를 RPCB에 접합하는데 interconnection으로 이방성 도전 필름(Anisotropic conductive film, ACF) 또는 비전도성 필름(Non-conductive film)이 널리 사용되고 있습니다. 하지만 필름의 가격이 비싸고, 낮은 전기 전도도를 보이며, 신뢰성 특성이 낮다는 단점을 가지고 있습니다. 본 실험에서는 기존의 connector 방식과 접착 필름을 이용한 방식을 대체하기 위하여 솔더를 interlayer로 이용하여 열과 압력으로 접합하는 방법에 대하여 연구하였습니다. 실험에 사용된 솔더의 조성은 Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu (in wt%)이고, RPCB와 FPCB의 표면처리는 ENIG로 하였습니다. 접합 온도와 접합 시간에 따라 최적의 접합 조건을 도출하고자 하였고, 접합된 시편을 가지고 신뢰성 테스트를 진행하였습니다. $85^{\circ}C$/85% 고온고습 시험과 고온 방치 시험을 통하여 접합부의 신뢰성을 테스트 하였고, 90도 Peel test로 기계적 접합 강도를 측정하였고, 파괴 단면을 Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)로 분석하였습니다.

Development of Automatic Design Program for Solid Rocket Motors Structure (고체 추진기관 구조체의 설계 자동화 프로그램 개발)

  • In order to perform system requirements quickly and accurately, an automatic design program of solid rocket motors(SRM) structure designated as the 'ProDes software' has been developed and verified. from given system design criteria and constraints, it has the capabilities to design, analysis, simulation and drawing process to greatly reduce the over 'design cycle time' and manpower of a project. The conception of the program is modular, and calculations are performed step by step allowing parametric design studies and providing final selected design goal. Each configurations of SRM components and joint types composed of various master models is obtained from the data base module of the library. Between the design results of the ProDes software and those of the previous detail design of the established motor showed good agreements.

Design of the Structural Connection for Lightweight Structure Application (경량구조 적용을 위한 구조 접합부 설계)

  • The structural connection design for lightweight structure application is presented in this paper. Modeling of the welding zone and the bolted connection are suggested. For reliability verification of the established models, nonlinear analysis is performed and comparisons are made with the experimental data showing good agreement. Through comparison study, suitable welding method for structure materials is investigated. Also, stability analysis is performed by fracture load simulation for different number and position of bolts. Finally, based on the structural connection models, the lightweight structure is modeled and structural analysis was performed. Stability analysis of structural connection for lightweight structure design, through combination of welding and bolting process, showed a 31.4% decrease in the maximum stress compared to the structure without the structural connections. Importance of structural connection design is highlighted for lightweight structure stability analysis.
