  • The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship between the sexual knowledge of adolescents and their sexual values and interests with regards to gender and grade. The case subjects were 272 middle and high school students in Keoungbok 154 boys and 118 girls, who completed the study questionnaire. Statistical techniques used for the investigation were crosstabs, t-test, Pearson's partial correlation and hierarchical multiple regression. The results of this study were as follows: (1) There were gender and grade differences in the adolescents' sexual knowledge and their sexual values and interests. (2) The adolescents' sexual knowledge showed a positive correlation with their own sexual values and interests. (3) The adolescents' sexual interests were a stronger predictor of sexual knowledge than sexual values, gender or grade.

  • In Korea, only a small study based on the bibliotherapy program for responsibility promotion of at risk or alienated youth has been performed. The purpose of this proposed study is to further examine the challenges and effects of a group bibliotherapy program on alienated youth to determine the degree of success in terms of "responsibility" and/or positive results. The current research program included a relatively small sample size of 11 young people (2 boys, 9 girls) in the Suwon Youth Center from November to December, 2015. The alienated youth program consisted of 8 sessions in the correct activity center with or having levels of insight, application, and verification measured using the Lee Sang Ro et al. (1989), Developmental Responsibility Examination (Scale of Responsibility). As a result, this study will confirm that the program to raise the level of alienated youth responsibility produces positive effects. These results will provide additional theoretical rationale and implications capable for applying "responsibility" education for alienated youth to the overall field encompassing youth education. Based on this, it will be necessary to extend various identified methods in depth to achieve this overall goal.

  • Congenital chloride diarrhea is a serious autosomal recessive disease, and defect of intestinal electrolyte absorption that involves, specifically, $Cl^-/{HCO_3}^-$ exchange in the distal part of the ileum and colon. The clinical feature is dominated by profuse, watery diarrhea containing high concentrations of chloride(>90 mmol/L) and sodium. The chloride loss results in severe dehydration with a hypochloremic alkalosis. The molecular pathology involves an epithelial $Cl^-/{HCO_3}^-$ exchanger protein. Mucosal ion transport is affected to differing degrees and the severity of the disease may thus vary. Recently, a gene defect on chromosome 7 has been identified. However, there was a deficit in replacement of fluid and electrolyte, abdominal distension remained and the character of stools was watery. We report a case of congenital chloride diarrhea in a premature female who presented with watery diarrhea containing high concentrations of chloride and abdominal distension.
