Lee Yeung-Hi is one of the most influential journalist in the modern history of Korea. Nevertheless, the judgement about him has been parallelized by opposite sides. He is called 'the Master of ideology', while the other calls him 'the culprit of theorization'. This thesis deduced the contemporary meaning of person Lee Yeung-Hi in order to promote communication for both sides. I compared their logical arguments and pointed out the error they missed. Also, I clarified that the criticism and anticriticism for Lee Young-Hi in the fields of both journalism and academia have fallacies, such as the fallacy of straw man, and the fallacy of question-begging. I criticized their arguments through the view of 'struggling to seek truth', which is the core value of Lee Yeung-Hi's thought. The necessity of communication between advocators and it's critics is due to the condition of Korean Journalism. Korean Journalism does not have much space to accept Lee Young-Hi in only one side. Paradoxically, the contemporary meaning of the truth that Journalist Lee Young-Hi had sought is profound and deep because of the condition where Korean Journalism is being dominated by political parallelism.

Recently, significant tries appeared in the spatial design field were appreciated as tries to find crossing between space formation and discourse. This study is to find spatial clues from Gilles Deleuze, the modern philosopher's literature where he developed his discourse analyzing paintings of Francis Bacon, and reveal common characteristics with the contemporary spatial design. According to the analysis of Deleuze, Bacon's paintings are separated into frame-aplat, shape-figure, and contour-track. From these three elements, I extracted spatially analyzing languages of 'occurrence of shape-accident', 'space of track-sense', and 'interaction of aplat-background.' Then with these analyzing languages, I analyzed latest works of Rem Koolhaas. Deleuze Space Theory confirmed in works of Rem Koolhaas is the application of accident-focused occurred between the user and space, the space that induces accident, and differentiation between the user and space or space and site. As a result, I could confirm the common characteristic that both modern discourse and spatial design are understood as 'difference' from life and movement.

A German philosopher, Herbert Bolz predicted that the human way of thinking would be fundamentally and completely changed because of digital media and the 'Gutenberg-Galaxis', named by M.McLuhan which was symbolized of modern reason was doomed to be over. He thought that the limit of reason-centered European culture would be overcome by the up-to-date multimedia to revive the communication life. On this theory, he emphasized the emotional perception, 'aisthesis' which is original meaning of aesthetics. That is to say, he insisted on the restoration of communication media to enable the five senses' amusement condition mentioned by Kant. This thesis asserts that the representative hypermedia digital animation may play a key role to rehabilitate human sensibility pressed by reason centered modernism. Digital animation has the unique worth of Art that is firstly to deal with time and space and enable unlimited expressions and can communicate effectively as a characteristic synthetic medium which consists of intensive computer techniques. Based on the background, this thesis analyzes the possibility of the digital animation as a new medium. Especially, it is focused on the relations to the hypermedia theory of Norbert Bolz who is a media analyst and professor of a design college.

In contemporary philosophy, the thinking subject became the dis-constructed subject and there was not left any one center in thinking. On the contrary of this trend, the philosopher Levinas stresses 'an ethics of Otherness' that requires the subject to be responsible for the Other. For Levinas, the Other is not knowable and cannot be made into an object of the self. For Levinas, the irreducible relation, the epiphany, of the face-to-face, the encounter with another, is a privileged phenomenon in which the other person's proximity and distance are both strongly felt. The face of the Other comes toward me with its infinite moral demands while emerging out of the trace. In the movie , when Sachie encounters them, she greets them. She provides them with food and shelter to protect from the dangers of elements. With the help of Sachia, the restaurant becomes a peaceful communal place for her and the Other.

French poststructuralists Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari pointed out that the minority age already has come in the modern society through discussing minority topic. Futhermore, they supported 'Becoming' as new methodology that minorities escape from suppressed reality. 'Becoming' is the practical concept for how one identity could split into different lives and subjects, thus it could be explained as an exemplary that autonomous change and actively entering into different lives. The purpose of this study seeks the practical way for elder women can independently participate in media education which is based on concretely 'becoming woman'. For this, the article examines the main concept and thought of Deleuze and Guattari. The reason why this article premises this theory is for changing 'desire' of elder women's approach to 'becoming women' through new interpretation about minority and minorities which were defined by quantitative criteria. Consequently, this article would suggests the direction of senior media education for seniors for the positive and specific effect.

Process synchronization is one of the most difficult subject for students learning the Operating System courses. It is due to the fact that concurrent process environment, where many events occur at the same time, is difficult to understand for ordinary human who thinks only one thing at a time. Classical synchronization examples like the Bounded buffer problem or the Dining philosopher problem fail to hook attention and interest from lower grade students who just begin to study the Operating System courses in college because these examples are either too technical or too unrealistic. In this paper we propose another synchronization example named the Bank account problem as an alternative to the classical ones. Bank account problem is proved to succeed getting high interest and understanding from the student as it is easy and realistic, and almost every student has the experience using bank account in real life. Various synchronization subjects including controlling the execution sequence of each process, incorrect result due to the race conditions, use of semaphores, deadlock, and monitor are considered to apply them to the Bank account problem.

This article discusses the purpose of mathematics education based on the epistemology of Michael Polanyi. According to Polanyi, studying is seeking after the truth and pursuing the reality. He opposes to separate humanity and knowledge on account that no knowledge possibly exists without its owners. He assumes tacit knowledge hidden under explicit knowledge. Tacit knowing is explained with the relation between focal awareness and subsidiary awareness. In the epistemology of Polanyi, teaching and learning of mathematics should aim for change of students' minds in whole pursuing the intellectual beauty, which can be brought about by the operation of their minds in whole. In other words, mathematics education should intend the cultivation of mind. This can be accomplished when students learn mathematical knowledge as his personal knowledge and obtain tacit mathematical knowledge.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the objectivity of scientific knowledge, focusing on Michael Polanyi's epistemology. The objectivity of scientific knowledge could be examined in epistemological and ontological view. The former relates to the rationality, but the latter to the reality. Since the middle of 20th century science philosophers have debated about the objectivity of scientific knowledge. Their opinions are divided three parts by the criteria of objectivity in relation to the rationality. Exactly Objectivism approves the rationality of scientific knowledge, and Falsificationism accepts the panial rationality, but Relativism denies any rationality. In this paper, we will study the objectivity of knowledge in relation to the subjectivity, especially throughout the theory of Kant, Kierkegaard and Wang Yang-ming. Experienced good scientist Polanyi(1946; 1958) have ever suggested the new epistemology as the name of 'personal knowledge'. He argues that scientific knowledge is personal by faith, trust, passions, tacit understanding, method rules embodied in practice. Some implications were discussed for science education from the view of Polanyi. The first holds that science class needs human voice throughout the personal commitment. The second holds that intellectual passions should he recovered. The third holds that the teacher should act like real scientist. Finally, the theory of science education should be established for ourselves.

One of the distinctive features of Korean language is that it has a fine hierarchical regimentation of language uses, perhaps finer than English, Chinese or Japanese. If English language uses have a hierarchical structure they are to be thick. You may respond to any of your male colleagues often by saying either "Yes, Sir" or "Yes, John". But Korean speakers attend to the One grades of differences of social positions of a speaker and a hearer and they show the respect of the difference by adding or dropping relevant suffixes of verbs which Korean language has developed. For example, one yew difference would affect how you choose a suffix of verbs you use to speak to your hearer and two year difference often leads to the adoption of still another fitting suffix of the same verb. One year criterion works not only in 3my barracks, school dormitories but also in government offices. business sectors. Korean speaking people have been taught to use this finely regimented hierarchical language. I try, in this paper, to develop the idea that hierarchical regimentation of Korean language uses is not humane. 1 of for the main argument for the thesis as what follows: How could one justify the hierarchical regimentation of a language like Korean\ulcorner Only if there is an essential structure in which the fine grades of differences of social positions of all the people are distinct; The essentialism here involved is not plausible. And I may add that language is to be used fur the purposes of communication, rationalization and expression. If true, language use is a genuine art of liberation or humanization. Any overt hierarchical language tends to damage those purposes and more to enforce those oppressive elements already existing in the community. Then, a hierarchical language is to defeat its own purpose.

As the characteristics, attributes, and accepted way of media have been changing with newly emerging media, human recognition and the communication structure have also been changing. Media are not isolated from the others and emerge in the cultural context; With the drive to juxtapose the old and the new to be in diversified forms, the old media are utilized and improved. In this rapidly changing circumstance by the media, we attempt to theoretically explore the concept and characteristics of visual communication and the media related to augmented reality. Augmented reality does not create something out of nothing but renew the expression; Thus, it reforms the structure of communication. Therefore, there is a significance to look into theories of W.Benjamin, M.McLuhan, Norbert Bolz, and Jean Baudrillard who linked the past to the present in accordance with the new era of communication for us to find out the meaning of augmented reality in the current cultural context.
