A Study for the Development of the Reliability/Availability Management System of the Urban Transit Vehicles (I) (도시철도차량 신뢰도/가용도 관리시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (I))

  • The maintenance of an urban transit vehicle accounts for 60-70% of total costs over its entire life cycle, so it is critical to reduce maintenance costs and extend the life times of urban transit EMUs (electric multiple units) through research. For these researches, the reliability and availability data management system was constructed through the case study of several industries in the domestic and international in the field of reliability centered maintenance system. And we created a system to manage reliability and availability data for use in urban-EMU maintenance. In this work, we identified the major functions needed to successfully develop the system. Here we report the successful development of a reliability and availability data management system for maintenance of urban transit vehicles.

Reliability-Based Optimum Design of High-Speed Railway Steel Bridges Considering Bridge/Rail Longitudinal Analysis and Bridge/Vehicle Dynamic Effect (교량/궤도 종방향 해석 및 교량/차량 동적영향을 고려한 고속철도 강교량의 신뢰성 최적설계)

  • To improve the effectiveness and economics the bridge design methodology considering the bridge/rail longitudinal analysis and bridge/vehicle dynamic effect suggested in this study. The reliability-based Life-Cycle Costs(LCC) effective optimum design is applied to a 2-main steel girder bridge, 5$\times$(1@50m) for comparison with conventional design, initial cost optimization and equivalent LCC optimization. As a result of the optimum design based on reliability, it may be stated that the design of High-Speed railway bridges considering the bridge/rail longitudinal analysis and bridge/vehicle dynamic effect are more efficient than typical existing bridges and LCC optimization without respect to bridge/rail longitudinal analysis and bridge/vehicle dynamic effect. The result of optimization design considering the interaction, design methodology suggested in this study, is higher than result of initial cost optimization design in initial cost, but that has the advantage than result of initial cost optimization design in expected LCC.

중부전력 북풍전변전소납입 275KV 450MVA 부하시 TAP 절환변압기

  • 전력계통의 증대에 따라 변전소용 변압기도 대용량화되어 가고 있다. 변전소용 대용량 변압기의 경우 최대문제가 되는 것은 철도운송의 경우 운송한계에 있다. 일본의 철도는 협궤이기 때문에 운송능력이 작고 275KV 변압기의 경우 조립운송할 수 있는 한계용량은 종래 300MVA라고 되어 왔지만, 최근 기술의 진보와 신뢰성 향상 시책에 따라 450MVA까지도 철도운송을 하는 것이 가능케 되었다. 이와같은 사정때문에 당사는 이번에 중부 전력.북풍전변전소에 3상 60Hz, 275/15 4/31.5KV, 450/450/135MVA 변압기를 납품하였다. 본기는 초고압 변전소용으로는 일본에서 최대급의 것으로 여러가지의 특징을 가지고 있다. 그 주요점을 들면, (1) 철도에 의한 조립운송을 가능케 했다. 더우기 부하시 TAP 절환기를 본체 TANK에 조립해서 운통한다. (2) 일차 초고압 권선에는 선로단을 중앙에 배치한 HISERCAP 권선을 채용한다. (3) 당초 65Phon, 장래 55Phon의 저소음사양을 만족시키기 위해서 고효율의 송유풍냉식 저소음방열관을 사용했다. (4) 기기의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 설계, 제조, 시험 검사 각면에 만전을 기했다. 그러나 그외에도 여러가지 연구가 추진되고 있으며 다음에 개요를 설명하고져 한다.

  • 도시철도유지보수체계 정보화시스템 연구에서 예방정비시스템 구축을 위해 RCM 연구를 진행하고 있으며, 특히 예방정비에서 RCM은 지난 십 수년간 정비보수(Maintenance) 분야의 관리 기법으로 다른 어느 분야의 관리 기법 보다 한층 탁월한 발전을 하고 있다. 특히, 도시철도분야는 매우 복잡한 시스템으로 유지보수에 대한 신뢰성과 효율성 및 안전성을 가장 먼저 확보하여야 한다. 이를 위해서 본 논문에서는 여러 분야에서 오랜 기간동안 운영한 결과 상당한 유익점이 있다고 증명된 신뢰도 중심 정비 (Reliability Centered Maintenance: RCM)에 대한 소개를 하면서 도시철도 시스템에 대한 적용하고자 한다.

Fatigue Reliability Evaluation of Steel-Composite High-Speed Railway Bridge with Tuned Mass Damper (동조질량감쇠기를 장착한 강합성형 고속철도교의 피로신뢰성 평가)

  • This study proposes a fatigue reliability evaluation procedure for steel-composite high-speed railway bridge based on dynamic analysis and investigates the effectiveness of Tuned Mass Damper(TMD) in terms of the extension of fatigue life of the bridge. For the fatigue reliability evaluation, the limit state is determined using S-N curve and linear fatigue-damage accumulation. Dynamic analyses are peformed repeatedly to consider the uncertainties of train-velocity and damping ratio of the bridge. The distribution of random variables related to fatigue damage for the intended service life is then statistically estimated from analytical results. Finally, the fatigue reliability indices are obtained by means of the Advanced First-Order Second-Moment (AFOSM) method. Through numerical simulation of a steel-composite bridge of 40m span, the effectiveness of TMD on fatigue life of the bridge is examined and the results are presented.

  • The recent development of USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network) technology has broadened its applications to many fields of industry. The USN technology enables the system to monitor and control the status of distributed sensor nodes based on the low-powered communications. Applying the USN in the train control domain, the operational efficiency can be enhanced, where the reliability and the safety of the system are the key challenges. This paper suggests the system design for evaluating and improving the reliability and safety of the gateway, which is a USN component that manages the radio network among the sensors and collects the information from them. For this purpose, the reliability and the level of safety integrity of a general gateway have been predicted quantitatively and the supplementary design has been proposed for the selected week points. The verification on the reliability and the safety of the improved gateway according to the related standards has been followed. With the results of the study, the applicability of USN gateway for train control systems has been reviewed.

  • The role of maintenance in railway is going to be extended to improve the reliability of railway system in the aspect of Asset management gradually. In this paper, the meaning of reliability and safety in RCM which has been applied in order to improve the efficiency of maintenance is deduced. And the analysis task of reliability and safely which has been recommended in railway standards such as EN50126 and IEC62278 is reviewed in the aspect of RCM. Finally, the several ways are proposed to apply RCM to railway system through the comparison between the RCM procedure and the analysis procedure for the reliability and safety in railway standards. Hereafter, if the analysis of reliability and safety is performed with the concept of RCM in the beginning of railway business, it will be more efficient to improve the reliability and manage the railway asset.

  • 최근 철도 차량은 안전성, 정시성, 대량 수송성이 우수하여 수송수요가 증가하고 있으며, 열차운행 횟수의 증가와 차량의 고속화로 운행조건이 가혹해짐에 따라 이에 대한 절대적인 안전성과 높은 신뢰성이 요구되고 있다. 철도차량과 같이 반복하중이 연속적으로 작용하는 구조물의 설계에 있어서는 구조물의 사용 환경이나 재료의 피로특성을 최우선의 고려사항으로 간주해야 한다. 실제로 철도차량의 대차 프레임은 맞대기 용접으로 제작되어 있으며, 용접부에서 파손이 발생하고 있다.(중략)

  • The door systems in urban railway vehicles, through heavy maintenance checks by six years, 75 parts for 34 part types in 75 units have to be replaced periodically, and the remaining 68 parts for 40 part types to be replaced occasionally based on the necessity. Even though this process makes the door systems almost to be initial status, the systems have complicated mixes of components with new parts and used and then have different property from the original ones. This study suggested a burn-in test as a subsidiary tool to improve the reliability of urban railway vehicles, and suitable for testing conditions and the proposed new target value.

  • Fire-driven flow and temperature distribution in a ventilated tunnel was analyzed by Large Eddy Simulation using FDS code. The simulated tunnel is 182m length, 5.4m wide and 2.4m height. A pool fire was located 112m from tunnel entrance and was taken as a heat source of $0.89m^2$. The heat is assumed to be released uniformly throughout the whole simulated time. The fire strength was 2.76MW and the fuel burnt was octane. The parallel computational method was employed to accelerate the computing time and manage the large grid points which is not possible to handle in the one CPU. The total grid points used were $2.4{\times}10^6$ and 7 CPUs were used to calculate the momentum and energy equations. The simulated results were well compared with the experiments.
