Evaluating the Application of Natural Pesticides on Textile Materials of Organic Cultural Heritages (섬유 재질에 대한 천연 살충·살균제의 적용성 평가)

  • Wood vinegar and Asarum sieboldii Miquel were selected as candidate materials showed antimicrobial activity and insect repellent activity. These natural pesticides have its own color and these could cause color difference on fabric materials. In the present study, we investigated the color difference of undyed and dyed fabrics to evaluate negative effect of wood vinegar and A. sieboldii Miquel. Undyed and dyed fabrics were exposed to natural pesticides of various concentrations for six months in relative humidity 70% and temperature $28^{\circ}C$. After exposure of pesticides, color difference (${\Delta}E*$) were investigated at two weeks intervals for six months. As a results, dyed cotton, silk and undyed silk fabrics exposed wood vinegar were not nearly changed in their colors, but color of only undyed cotton fabric was clearly changed by wood vinegar. Especially color difference by wood vinegar on undyed cotton fabric was most distinct as the concentration increased. On the other hand, all of fabrics exposed A. sieboldii Miquel were not nearly changed in their colors for six months. Therefore, this study first suggests that wood vinegar and A. sieboldii Miquel as natural insecticides could be used to conserve for textile cultural properties from insects and microorganism, but wood vinegar couldn't use the high concentration on undyed cotton fabric.

  • As chemistry dyes has considerably developed with industrial society, natural dyeing has gone out of people's head for a long time. But the serious problems from environmental pollutions and ecological damages make people look far Well-being. Natural dyeing also has concentrated again and the interests about it are growing larger and larger. Well-being that a modern person pursues and a Natural dyeing walk along a same string of connection. That is, people want their life to change from quantity matters into qualities. The relations of the natural dying which has the color of nature and Well-being phenomenons are analyzed through dissertations and references. The study about the correlations between natural dying and well-being shows that many advantages of natural dyestuff and the effects of dyestuff are definitely needed to people living in modern times. Also for the protection of an ecosystem, rapid popularization and the development of new design is completely required.

  • Poly(lactic acid)(이하 PLA라 칭함)는 1970-80년대의 초기 연구에서는 높은 제조비용과 희귀성에 의해 봉합사와 약물전달시스템으로 용도가 제한적이었으나 1980년대를 거쳐 1990년 이후 농업의 혁신적인 변화를 거쳐 옥수수의 다양한 측면의 이용의 하나로서 6-7년 전부터 양산화에 성공하여, 의류, 필름 및 플라스틱의 여러 가지 분야에서 적용가능성을 모색하고 있다. PLA의 장점은 석유가 아닌 천연 원료에서 얻을 수 있으며, 기존의 합성섬유와는 달리 일정한 조건하에서 미생물 등에 의해 물과 이산화탄소로 90% 이상 분해되는 친환경적인 소재이다. 합성섬유에서 의류용으로 대부분 사용되는 폴리에스테르(이하 PET라 칭함)와 유사한 물성을 가지고 있는 PLA섬유는 PET섬유와 유사한 분산염료로 염색할 수 있다. 따라서 PLA섬유는 분산염료에 의한 염색법을 중심으로 연구되어지고 있으나, PET 섬유의 융점이 $254^{\circ}C$부근인 반면, PLA섬유는 $160-170^{\circ}C$부근이다. 이로 인해 PLA를 섬유로 용도전개에 있어서 약점으로 작용하고 있다. 그러나 PLA섬유는 특유의 경량감과 새로운 촉감 등의 많은 장점을 지니고 있어 여러 가지 용도전개가 되어지고 있다. 초음파는 사람이 들을 수 없는, 사람마다 한계값은 다르지만, 주파수 약 25kHz이상의 음파를 말하며, 주파수가 높고 파장이 짧기 때문에 강한 진동을 수반한다. 초음파의 이용 원리는 Cavitation이라는 현상으로 생성된 기포가 터지면서 강력한 에너지를 방출한다. 이것은 강력하여 사방으로 퍼져 물질표면이나 내부에 영향을 미친다. 섬유에서는 표면에 뭍은 불순물을 제거하는 세정 등에 응용되고 있으며, 염색분야에서도 다양하게 연구되어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 초음파에 의한 PLA섬유의 염색성을 조사하였다. PLA섬유를 정련하여 초음파작용의 유무에 따라 염색하여 그 결과를 고찰하였다. 초음파 작용에 따른 분산염료의 표면 색변화는 없었으며, 섬유 표면 색 농도의 차이는 초음파 작용에 의하여 저온에서는 차이가 나타나지만, 고온인 $80^{\circ}C$에서는 오히려 낮아졌다.

Effect of Permanent Wave on Hair Damage and Morphological Changes after Natural Henna Treatment (천연헤나 처리 후 퍼머넌트 웨이브 시술 시 모발 손상도 및 형태학적 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • This study attempted to investigate the effects of natural henna-treated permanent wave on degree of damage and morphological changes of hair. For this, amino acid was analyzed, and hair thickness and surface were observed through SEM. In addition, hair curl formation & retention, methylene blue coloring, tensile strength and elongation were measured. The results found the followings: Total amino acid contents rose as the number of natural henna treatment increased, hair protection effects are expected. In terms of curl formation, in an experimental group hair became more elastic as the number of natural henna treatment increased, compared to a control group. In both control and experimental groups, hair retention decreased as shampooing frequency increased because of extension of (C) and (C)', According to analysis of hair thickness using SEM, hair became thick in an experimental group after natural henna treatment, compared to a control group. In morphological observation of hair surface, it was mostly clean, and cuticle was tidy and healthy. In methylene blue coloring, as the number of natural henna treatment increased, absorbance went up. In addition, tensile strength declined in an experimental group, compared to a control group. As the number of natural henna treatment increased, elongation in an experimental group increased, compared to a control group. The above results show that as the number of natural henna treatment increased, hair became thicker, and curl formation and retention improved. In addition, hair elasticity and flexibility were enhanced, reducing a risk of hair damage. Therefore, the study results would be available as basic data in reducing scalp and hair damage, proposing the natural henna treatment as a method to reduce hair damage from chemical perm in cosmetology industry.

A Study on Pregnant Women's Preference for Design Development of Natural Dyed Maternity Dresses - Focusing on Daegu and Gyeongbuk Regions - (천연염색 임부복 디자인 개발을 위한 임산부들의 선호도에 관한 연구 - 대구.경북지역을 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to examine the actual condition of and satisfaction with purchasing common maternity dresses and natural dyed maternity dresses as well as purchasing defined factors among pregnant women and those who lately gave birth to a baby. Addressed too are involved problems and the possible solutions. Among pregnant women and those who lately gave birth to a baby living in Daegu or Gyeongbuk areas, a preliminary survey was conducted in July, 2008. After revised and complemented, the 177 copies of the questionnaire were distributed in October of the year, and investigated for two months up to December of the year. Except 6 copies of the questionnaire that were not appropriate for analysis, 171 copies were used, and the results are as follows: First, The majority of the respondents were women aged 30 to 35, full-time housewives, and having a monthly income of 2 million to 3 million won. Second, The respondents preferred one-piece dresses, leggings-type maternity dresses, and pink-tone colors. Third, The respondents regarded the feelings as the most important among the maternity dress purchasing defined factors. Fourth, They preferred maternity dresses priced less than 150,000 won. The respondents showed a lot of interests in and tended to buy natural dyed products.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide for the useful fundamental data to enterprise which produces the natural-dyed clothing products by investigating with the holding conditions and pursuit of wearing images. The subjects were females aged 20 to 59, a questionnaire was developed by the researcher and distributed to 237 females. A sample of 223 females responded to the questionnaire. Data analyses were processed by SPSS WIN 10.0 Program; Frequency count and percentage, $X^2-test$, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test were used for statistical analysis. The results of this study were as follows: First, there were significant differences in holding items, period and private ownership according to age, any academic background and a monthly income. Second, the result by classification of the pursuit of wearing images could be identified four factors: factor 1) sexual and feminine image, factor 2) simple and common image, factor 3) comfortable and natural image and factor 4) dynamic image.

Design of Infants Natural Colour Fashion Products Using Eckloinia cava and Onion Shell Extracts (제주감태와 양파껍질 추출물을 이용한 유유아(乳幼兒) 천연염색 패션제품 디자인)

  • This study explored Jeju natural resources with healing function and tried mixed dyeing of Ecklonia cava and onion shell to improve dyeing. The results showed that silk dyed with a mixture of Ecklonia cava powder and onion shells rather than Jeju's individually dyed silk had better color power to develop fashion products. In addition, all friction lightning bolts, dry cleaning and sweat mining levels were excellent as well as excellent UV protection rates. The three baenaet jeogori worn during a birth anniversary and four rest suits that infants and children can wear comfortably maintained the dyeing and functioning of Ecklonia cava and onion shell mixture that was proven through abnormal experiments. For the three baenaet jeogori and two rest suits, the company has developed a fashion product recognized for high value-added merchandise using a variegation dyeing method made in a handmade style for expressing a person's natural sensibility through dyeing fabrics. Based on the results of the above research, it is expected that various fashion product developments will be possible by dyeing a mixture of functional and colorful extracts of the drug and colorful dye.

유/무기 하이브리드 기술을 이용한 서방형 가공제 합성 연구(2)

  • 최근 건강에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 천연 기능물질을 이용한 고기능 및 고부가가치 상품개발이 여러 산업분야에서 일반화되는 추세이다. 대표적으로 마이크로캡슐은 원하는 기능을 발휘할 수 있는 기능성 물질을 다양한 방법으로 다양한 제품에 부여함으로써, 기능성 물질을 오랜 기간 동안 외부로 방출하거나 외부의 환경으로부터 보호하는 수단으로 각광받고 있다. 이러한 마이크로캡슐은 의약분야 제초제, 멸충제, 곰팡이 방지제, 살균제로 적용되는 농약분야, 식품 분야, 화장품 분야 등의 전반에 걸쳐 응용 및 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다양한 나노 합성기술과 유/무기 하이브리드를 이용해 서방화 관련 기술을 개발하여 보습성, 항균, 노화방지, 외부 유해물질로부터의 피부보호 특성을 가진 인체 친화형 복합기능성 섬유 가공조제를 개발하여 다양한 섬유소재에 적용하고자 하며, 궁극적으로 기존 선진국 제품의 기능을 뛰어넘는 원천기술, 즉 새로운 가공제 합성과 응용성, 그 성능평가와 동시에 최적의 처리기술을 개발함으로써 섬유제품의 부가가치를 높이는 계기를 마련하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 나노미터 직경을 갖는 침상형의 주형(hydroxyapatite)을 이용하여 중공 나노구조체를 제조 한 후 이에 천연고분자를 혼합하여 초음파처리 후 유/무기 하이브리드 기술을 이용한 서방성 가공제를 합성하였다. 중공의 나노구조체 확인은 투과전자현미경(TEM)을 이용하였으며, 주형의 나노구조체는 주사전자현미경(FE-SEM)으로 확인하였다. 이상의 결과를 통해 본 연구에서 제안한 방법이 나노구조체의 새로운 합성방법으로써 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.
