An Experimental Study on the Mechanical Properties of Porous Concrete Using Coal Ash and Polymer (석회석 골재를 사용한 강섬유보강 포러스콘크리트의 강도특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Concrete is strong on the compressive property, but weak on the tensile and flexural properties. To improve these problems, the reinforcing bar is used in concrete. But porous concrete with steel fiber has a weak point when exposed to air, because porous concrete has the vast continuous void on its inside and steel fiber is easily rusted by air. For these reasons, this study investigated the void ratio, compressive strength, bending strength and bending toughness as steel fiber mixing ratio and target void ratio. From test results, actual void ratio and strength properties increased as the mixing ratio of steel fiber increase. In case the mixing ratio of steel fiber over the fixed ratio, strength is decreased. And from the toughness evaluation, compared to the porous concrete which isn't mixed with steel fiber, the deflection variation efficiency is remarkably improved. Consequently we can confirm the possibility of porous concrete with steel fiber for the secondary product and pavement material to improve strength and bending resistance efficiency.

Applicability of Hyblid FRP Reinforcing Bar for Self-diagnosis of Concrete Fracture (콘크리트 파괴 자가진단을 위한 하이브리드 FRP 보강근의 적용 특성)

  • For investigating self-diagnosis applicability, a method based on monitoring the changes in the electrical resistance of hybrid FRP(having electrical property) reinforced concrete has been tested. Then after examining change in the value of electrical resistance of carbon fiber in CFRP(non-hybrid type), CFGFRP and CFAFRP(hybrid type) before and after the occurrence of cracks and fracture in non-hybrid and hybrid FRP reinforced concrete at each flexural weight-stage, the correlations of each factors(the changes in electrical resistance and load as a function of strain, deflection) were analyzed. As the results, it is clarified that when the carbon fiber tows fracture, the electrical resistance of it increase largely, and afterwards hybrid FRP composites can be resist the load due to the presence of the reinforced fiber, for example, glass fiber or aramid fiber tows. Therefore, it can be recognized that hybrid FRP(including carbon fiber) reinforcing bar could be applied for self-diagnosis of fracture in reinforced FRP concrete fracture.

Punching Shear Strength of Prestressed Precast Concrete Deck (프리스트레스를 도입한 프리캐스트 콘크리트 교량바닥판의 펀칭전단강도)

  • Recently, the failure case of the bridge deck slabs have been increasing in Korea and it was observed that the failure modes of most deck slabs collapsed were not caused by flexural moment but by local punching shear. The main reason of the failures was the punching shear failure of deck slabs under heavy truck traffics. This paper presents test results obtained from punching shear tests performed on prestressed precast deck specimens. Cracking patterns, failure modes, deflections, and stresses are included as well as discussion of the punching shear strength observed during punching shear tests. Static lest specimens had punching shear failures at loads much higher than predicted by the current codes. Tests results indicate that current code provisions appear to be conservative.

  • The purpose of this paper is that investigates the dynamic behavior characteristic of W.T.S(Wind turbine System) and carries out the evaluation analysis during operating W.T.S. To investigate the dynamic behavior characteristic of W.T.S, the experiments to measure vibration of the blade from the attached accelerometer on the flap and edge section of the blade that is one of the most important elements of dynamic characteristic of W.T.S are performed. Natural frequency and mode shape are calculated with commercial program (ANSYS) using the measured vibration acceleration that receives the signal with F.F.T Analyzer from the accelerometer. For validation of these experiments, the finite element analysis is performed with commercial F.E.M program (ANSYS) on the basis of the natural frequency and mode shape. The results indicate that experimental values have good agreements with the finite element analysis.

  • This paper represented the finite element analysis to estimate structural performance of stress-laminated deck, which is determined by deflection, stress, and aging characteristics of tensioning. After loading, the deflected shape showed plate behavior because pre-stressing make frictional force between each member. Compared between initial post-tension and the results, pre-stressing forces were decreased with deck deflection. This is because deflection occurred in the deck so that pre-stressing decreased due to load reduction. However, material plasticity was not considered so that advanced researches should be performed.

  • Carbon black from pyrolysis of waste tires was used to modify and improve the fatigue properties and low temperature cracking of asphalt binder. 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of pyrolyzed carbon black was mixed. Couple of laboratory tests, such as dynamic shear rheometer test and bending beam rheometer test, were carried out. The use of pyrolyzed carbon black decreased the fatigue at room temperature and improved the resistance of low temperature cracking up to $-12^{\circ}C$, but, was off the criteria at $-18^{\circ}C$.

  • 최근 현장타설 바닥판의 대안으로 강합성 바닥판을 이용하여 바닥판의 공용년수를 증진시키고 공기 단축 및 시공의 간편성, 교통흐름의 원활화등을 위한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 I형강 매입형 강합성 바닥판을 기본으로 한 새로운 형식의 초간편 강합성 바닥판을 제시하여 거동패널의 거동에 대해 연구하였다. 하부강판과 I형강의 용접량의 변화, I형강의 복부에 유공 유무, 유공의 위치변화에 대한 특성을 파악하였다 이때 H형강의 상부 플랜지는 강판과 용접된 것으로 가정하였으며, 가설시 합성전 단면에 대한 거동 분석이므로 하중은 강판, I형강, 콘크리트의 자중만 고려되었다. 연구결과, 하부강판과 I형강의 용접길이 변화시 전체용접에 비해 30%용접을 수행시 중앙부 단면에서 최대 휨 인장응력이 증가하는 결과를 보였으며, I형강 복부에 유공이 있을시 유공이 없는 경우 보다 처짐량이 약간 증가함을 확인하였다. 또한 I형강 복부의 유공 위치를 변화시킨 결과 거더패널 강바닥판의 거동에는 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Maglev guideway is expected to be a new public transportation for future because of its environmental and special characteristics. Recently, Korean government initiated an urban maglev project to build a commercial line in Incheon International Airport by year 2012. For practical use of UTM02, it is essential not only to verify the performances of the vehicle but also to formulate the design rules of Maglev Guideway. In this paper, maglev guideway is analyzed by Finite Element Method and then obtained dynamic characteristics such as displacements, acceleration and impact factor.

  • 태양광 고고도 장기체공형 무인기나 인간동력 항공기 등에 사용되는 높은 종횡비를 가진 유연날개는 공력 및 구조 상호작용으로 인하여, 구조적 비선형 처짐 및 양력감소 등의 문제가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 저속 비행하는 높은 종횡비를 가진 날개의 단방향 공력-구조 연계해석을 수행하였다. XFOIL을 사용하여 공력천이현상을 포함한 저 레이놀즈수 익형 공력특성 자료 확보를 기반으로 3차원 양력선 이론을 사용하여 공력해석 연구를 수행했다. 구조해석은 상용소프트웨어 ANSYS를 사용하여 구조변형이나 응력해석 연구를 수행했다. 단방향 공력-구조 연계해석 결과를 바탕으로 인간동력 항공기 주 날개의 형상설계 연구를 수행했다.

  • The main objective of this research is to present the behaviors of precast concrete slab under moving wheel loads. The simulated moving wheel tester and precast concrete slab were designed for this research. In particular, a comparative analysis between the structural analysis and the moving wheel load test was evaluated in connection parts, deformation, bedding layer of concrete slab panels. In the comparisons of the test results from static and moving wheel loads, the maximum deformations were similar. It should be noted that the deformation of panel 2 from the static loading test was larger than that of other panels, while the deformations of panels 1 and 3 were more noticeable than that of panel 2.
