  • In our country, the application of the design method of face to face dimension in wall-slab apartment has passed 10 years. So MC design method has fixed in the design step to some degree. In Design and Work Execution of House the exclusive area of the apartment was calculated by face to face dimension. And the term of face to face dimension was known broadly to clients, construction company, etc. But design method of face to face dimension is not to simply extend the room size so far as wall depth in design process but to ensure the actual space should be considered with efficient use and assembly of building components. That is to say, Design method of face to face dimension is not to be defined by design step but to be related with construction and maintenance. However in construction process the point of face to face design method was not understood even now. So the purpose of this study was to extract the effect and question of face to face design method in construction process by survey of actual condition of structure and construction quality, and compare this result with existing construction method. The following project of this study is to survey of actual condition of interior components such as gypsum board, windows & doors etc. Therefore this study is to induce architectural long-life through architectural standardization construction and component's exchange, and, by the subject of the study on Apartment to have design guideline and basis for joining part between Gypsumboard and windows.

A Study of Connection Stability for Reinforced Retaining Wall Constructed with Soilbag with Varying Connection Strength (연결강도 변화에 의한 Soilbag 보강토 옹벽 연결부의 안정성 평가)

  • Environmental-friendly and economical construction are the recent issues for civil structures and soilbag as facing wall is widely used for cut-slope remediation projects. However, the stability of structures is an important issue for the use of environmental-friendly and economical materials. In order to understand the stability of soilbag reinforced retaining wall, tensile resistance, rupture, tensile strength, and internal/external safety factor of the wall were analyzed with MSEW program and the results were compared to the safety factor of block-type reinforced walls. The stability of retaining wall was analyzed with reduction coefficients of connection strength to check the connection stability. Because it is possible to move between soilbag and geogrid connector for soilbag retaining wall, the safety factor of the wall was analyzed with different inclination angles of soilbag. The analysis result shows that the connection strength and internal/external stability of soilbag reinforced wall satisfy the stability criteria.

  • Depending on the type of Tx-Rx pairs, VHF Data Exchange System (VDES) for maritime communication is expected to employ the different frequency channels. Load imbalance between the different channels turns out to be a critical problem for the multi-hop communication using Ad-hoc Self-Organizing TDMA (ASO-TDMA) MAC protocol, which has been proposed to provide the connectivity between land station and remote ship stations. In order to handle the inter-channel load imbalance problem, we consider a model of the stochastic geomety in this paper. After analyzing the spatial reuse efficiency in each hop region by the given model, we show that the resource utility can be maximized by balancing the inter-channel traffic load with optimal resource allocation in each hop region.

  • The removing copper from CCA, CCFZ treated wood were tested with Tyromyces palustris. The shacking culture, solid culture, and stationary culture methods were tested to removal of copper in CCA, CCFZ treated wood. The steam pressure method and oxalic acid method were tested as pretreatment. To investigate of copper removal mechanism, the oxalic acid that produced by T. palustris and combination with copper was examined on stationary culture that contained CCA and CCFZ treated wood chips. Oxalic acid increased copper removing rate of T. palustris as pretreatment. Stationary culture had most removal effectiveness among the culturing methods. The removal rate of copper on bioreactor was 61% on 7 days. Copper-oxalate was detected on liquid culture, which show the oxalate from liquid of culture combined with copper from treated wood. It would be related to the removal of copper from treated wood by T. palustris.

Evaluation of the Applicability of Azon and Azo-Core for Enhancing Airtightness and Thermal Insulation Performance of Insulated Shutters (단열 셔터의 기밀성능 및 단열성능 확보를 위한 Azon 및 Azo-Core의 적용성 평가)

  • This study investigated the thermal insulation performance of Azon and Azo-Core, two materials commonly used in window frames, for potential application in window shutters. A three-pronged evaluation approach was employed, utilizing the Therm 7.4 software, confidential test results, and dedicated thermal insulation testing. The simulation data indicated that both Azon and Azo-Core offered superior insulating properties compared to conventional shutter insulation materials. When incorporated into shutters, these materials achieved a first-grade sealing performance and a measured average thermal conductivity of 2.018W/m2·K. While this thermal conductivity value surpasses the standard requirements of 1.5W/m2·K for central regions and 1.8W/m2·K for southern regions in Korea, it falls within the acceptable limit of 2.2W/m2·K established for the Jeju region. Based on these findings, Azo-Core, warranting further dedicated research, presents itself as a promising candidate for shutter insulation material, particularly in applications targeting the Jeju region.

  • 해양분야에 e-Navigation 전략이 도입되면서 안전한 항행 지원을 위해 기존의 제품을 재설계 하거나 새로운 제품 설계가 이루어지고 있다. 항행 지원에 소프트웨어시스템의 영향이 커지고 있기 때문에 안전하고 견고한 시스템의 설계는 매우 중요하며, 이를 위해 높은 품질의 확보가 필요하다. IMO에서는 이러한 제품 설계를 위해 적절한 품질을 보장하고 목적에 맞는 제품 설계에 대한 내용을 담고 있는 소프트웨어 품질 보증 및 인간 중심 설계 가이드라인을 공식 승인하였다. 가이드라인에서 품질 보증은 제품 품질, 데이터 품질, 사용상 품질을 만족할 것을 포함한다. 다양한 품질 속성을 만족하기 위해서는 품질 속성간의 우선순위화가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 안전하고 견고한 소프트웨어 시스템을 위해 AHP기법을 이용하여 제품에 따른 품질 속성을 우선순위화 하고, 전 개발 단계에 걸쳐 품질 속성이 반영되고 평가 될 수 있도록 한다.

A Study on Mean Flow Velocity Measurement by Cross Correlation of Ultrasonic Waves (초음파 상호상관 기법을 이용한 유체의 평균유속 측정 연구)

  • An application of the cross correlation technique by adopting ultrasonic waves for water pipe flow measuring purpose is studied. It is a non-intrusive flow metering method by determining the time of the flight of the flow turbulent noise and its non-obstructing mechanism enables to reduce process energy loss due to the flowmeter obstruction. A digital signal processor for the purpose of the real time Fourier transform was employed for the fast time calculation of the flow velocity. The overall accuracy was found as about $1\%$ for flow velocities from 0.25 m/s up to 16 m/s and for the pipe inside diameters from 50mm to 248mm. The cross correlation technique can be used for the tap water utility including most common liquid flows.

  • An experimental study has been conducted to determine the effects of inclined impinging jet on the local heat transfer coefficients. A single jet with nozzle diameter of 24.6 mm was tested for Reynolds numbers from 10,000 to 70,000 and nozzle-to-plate spacings of 2~6 jet diameters. The angle of inclination of the impingement surface relative to the horizontal surface was varied from $0^{\cire}$ (normal impingement) to $60^{\cire}$. The results indicate that the point of maximum heat transfer is moved up from the geometrical stagnation point of inclined surface by Coanda effect. The local heat transfer coefficients on the minor jet region decrease more rapidly than on the major jet region, thus creating an imbalance in the cooling capabilities on the two sides.

  • Microstructural changes may arise due to the particle vanishing, fluid diffusion, heating, etc. This study focuses on the changes in small-strain shear stiffness in k0 loading produced by local straining in particular system made of sand-salt mixtures. Local strains were induced by dissolution of salt particles. Experiments were carried out in a conventional oedometer cell equipped with bender elements. Axial displacement and shear wave signals are recorded at each loading stage and during saturation process. Experimental data showed that microstructural changes due to particle vanishing were clearly captured by using shear wave measurement. Saturation of sand-salt mixture at a larger axial stress did not always create a more condense soil at the end of loading stage. Sand-salt mixture is useful for laboratory test on controlled artificial specimen.

Characteristics of Sand-Rubber mixtures with Strain Level (모래-고무 혼합재의 변형율 크기에 따른 거동 특성)

  • Engineered mixtures composed of rigid sand particles and soft rubber particles are tested to investigate their behavior with strain level. Mixtures are prepared with different volumetric sand fractions (sf) to identify response using small strain resonant column, intermediate strain oedometer, and large strain direct shear tests. The small strain shear modulus and damping ratio are determined with volumetric sand fractions. The asymmetric frequency response curve increases with decreasing sand fraction. Linear responses of shear strain and damping ratio with shear strain are observed at the mixture of sf=0.2. Vertical strain increases with decreasing sand fraction. Mixtures with $04.{\leq}sf{\leq}0.6$ show the transitional stress-deformation behavior from rubber-like to sand-like behavior. The friction angle increases with the sand fraction and no apparent peak strength is observed in mixture without sf=1.0.
