We investigated whether divergent thinking attitudes mediate the relationship between self-esteem and creative teaching beliefs among teachers. We examined differences in the mediating model we proposed in the groups of pre-service and in-service child care teachers. We found differences in the pre-service and in-service child care teachers in the proposed mediating model. Especially in the pre-service child care teachers, the mediating effect of divergent thinking attitudes was confirmed. There was a significant effect from self esteem to creative teaching beliefs and also a significant effect from divergent thinking attitudes to creative teaching beliefs. But in-service child care teachers, there was neither direct nor indirect effect of self-esteem to creative teaching beliefs. Suggestions for more studies and for better in-service education for the pre-service and in-service child care teachers are recommended for the future.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how engineering design-based STEM research experience affects gifted students' creative engineering problem-solving propensity and attitude toward engineering. The students' creative engineering problem-solving propensity and attitude toward engineering were measured before and after the STEM research experience. The pre-/post-tests results were analyzed by paired t-test with the significance level of p <.05. The conclusions of the study are as follows: First, the engineering design based STEM research experience had a positive effect on the students' creative engineering problem-solving propensity. Over all, the average score of the creative engineering problem-solving propensity increased significantly (p <.05) after the STEM research experience. Second, the average score of gifted-students' attitude toward engineering had increased significantly after the integrated STEM research activities (p <.05). In addition, we analyzed the difference between pre-post results of both instruments based on the gifted students' desired career paths (natural science and engineering) and gender. The result shows that the students' career paths or gender did not affect the results in most of the sub-categories in both instruments. However, the STEM research experience had more positive effect on the female students than male students in term of their 'engineering design ability', which is one of the sub-categories of the creative engineering problem-solving propensity instrument.
The purpose of this study is to develop the number puzzle program and the mathematical creativity test and to analyze the effects of the mathematical creativity and the creative attitude in mathematics. This study was to investigate the changes of attitudes related to science of students in high school science club through modified the creative-experience activity model program. To begin with, using the creative-experience activity model program the programs adapted to the school practices have been developed through consultation of the teachers. The developed program was performed on students in the high school science club. Then we studied the changes of attitudes related to science of students through their outcomes of the activities and face-to-face talk. The change of attitudes related to science of students is positive, especially problem-solving, curiosity, a sense of responsibility, interests toward science, interests toward science related careers, and leisure interest in science. Interest for science as hobby were influenced by used tools like telescopes and experimental tools. Interest for science class were not effective to change to positive by creative experience activity. It seems to be due to creative experience activity were not connected with science class. The program to participate in the activities was more effective than to observe with visit for the change of the attitude related to science. Also, the programs with activities contained scientific knowledge were more effective.
The purpose of this study was to develop the 'airplane' science program based on Renzulli's Enrichment Triad Model for the gifted elementary students and investigate the effects of the program on attitude toward self-directed learning attitude, attitude toward laboratory work, and creative personality. Participants were 37 gifted students of local elementary school gifted classrooms. The results of this study were as follows: First, self-directed learning attitude was improved significantly including all sub-areas. Second, the attitude toward laboratory work was improved significantly including all sub-areas. Third, creative personality was improved significantly including all sub-areas. Finally, students' satisfaction about program had an average of 4.52 out of 5 points. Boys showed higher satisfaction on 'program management' and 'teacher's activities' than girls.
Purpose of this study is to clarify the effect of creative science writing for interest of biology and scientific attitude on high school student. Creative science writing is a learning method to enhance comprehension and expression of thinking of science contents related to daily life. 148 students were recruited and divided into two groups, experimental group were experience creative science writing lessons. On the other hand, contrary group were applied interest enhancement lessons excepted creative science writing activity. To investigate the effect of creative science writing, interest check of biology was used, and scientific attitude test was used to understand changes in student's scientific attitude. Experimental group had taught using creative science writing and their awareness of the instruction was analyzed with questionnaire. As a result of this study, the class based on creative science writing was effective in improving high school students' interest in biology and in particular it was helpful in promoting interest in biology and learning of biology. It suggested that the class based on creative scientific writing used a new teaching method unlike existing methods, caused them to have interest in the instruction by making them express their daily life freely not to memorize learning contents, applied learning contents to daily life through many kinds of writings and then enhanced their interest in biology. Indeed, the class based on creative science writing had the positive influence on changes in the scientific attitude of high school students. Since creative science writing is writing one's own idea through extensive thinking based on learning contents, it was effective in arranging the process of thinking and changing their scientific attitude into positive one. Consequently, it was concluded from the above results of the research that the teaching using creative science writing was available as the effective teaching methods to improve high school students' interest in biology and change their scientific attitude into positive one.
