Solutions for Design Creativity Barriers (디자인 창의성 저해요소의 해결방안)

  • In the design process that focuses on problem solving, in general, two or three barriers to design creativity appear at the same time and are linked to increase difficulty. Because the design problem always arises in unusual, unique, weird, and difficult to define, it is not possible to extract the correct answer through the formula and the answer is always plural. This study aims to present solutions and prove their effectiveness as a follow-up study that seeks to overcome the representative obstacles to design creativity discussed in the previous study. To this end, a qualitative study was conducted to find solutions to the obstacles suggested in the previous study and to devise key solutions(creativity development cards). At the same time, a quantitative research methodology using experiments and statistical analysis was adopted. After grasping the core characteristics of an object using the creativity development card, it was able to approach the creative solution by utilizing the reductive analysis of the original such as transformation of the core characteristics, reconsideration of essential problems and intentional differentiation. As a result, it was confirmed that the proposed solutions were effective not only as a method of overcoming the barriers to design creativity, but also in improving creativity.

Analysis on Preferred Element on Constructing Creative Play Space Design (창의적 놀이 공간 구축을 위한 디자인 선호 요소 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the various perspectives that children can provide by utilizing specific physical spaces for play, and to study how to effectively apply them to surrounding spaces and environments. AHP was used to analyze the preferred elements for effectively designing a play area. The main keywords were derived through case studies of various domestic and foreign play space designs, and each keyword was grouped and a keyword of a higher concept was derived. The results of the comparison of 14 keywords that were finally drawn using AHP for each element were used to derive the priority for the preferred elements. As a result, preference was derived in the order of "Openness", "Safety", and "Diversity" in the morphological properties of the play space, and "Adventure", "Five senses elements", "Visual elements" and "Interactivity" in the content properties of the play space.

  • 4 세대 모바일폰은 카메라, MP3, 블루투스, DMB, 전자수첩, PC, 웹브라우징의 복합 기능을 가진 제품으로 진화하고 있으며, 이를 위한 사용자의 요구와 경험디자인의 요소를 탐색하고 분석하는 것이 요구된다. 하지만 기존의 사용자 요구의 조사와 경험디자인은 많은 비용과 시간을 투입하고도 기존 요구의 재확인에 머물거나, 제한적이고 예측 가능한 결과만을 도출하는 문제점을 가지고 있어 창의적 디자인 아이디어 도출에는 한계를 가지고 있다. 이는 사용자의 선정과 분석의 방법이 마케팅 중심의 통계적 방법에 기초하고 있으며, 사용자의 선정에 분석의 결과가 좌우되기 때문이다. 본 연구는 창의적 경험디자인의 방법으로서 1% 이미지 추출의 작업과 국내외 커뮤니티 사이트를 중심으로 한 디지털 포켓리서치의 방법을 활용하였나 2차 사용자 조사는 '1% UX 리서치'로 명명한 극단적 사용자 분석의 방법을 개발하고 적용하였으며, 주요 디자인 요구와 암시점은 K-J 매트릭스를 통하여 체계화하였다. 디지털포켓리서치와 1% 사용자의 리서치의 방법론은 근 미래의 사용자 예측과 풍부한 경험디자인의 아이디어를 발상할 수 있다는 측면에서 기존의 방법론 보다 비용과 시간 측면에서 효율적으로 활용할 수 있었다.

  • The paradigm of a product taking a sudden turn of technical development is due to a change of the needs of diversified user, and this shows that users emphasizes on the value of the sensitivity than the standardized form and usableness of the product, and the value of such a sensitivity can relate to the needs of the product, and it can be filled up eventually by the rapid completion of the product. The creativity will be the most important ability in the future society, it is an added value to all the profession workers which people can use that to increase their competitiveness ability. It is recognized the value of the sensitivity represents the feels psychological aspect of the user and it would be the future design trend, by doing this, products designed would be different from the existing products in the market. I am going to show you that this can be used in the design concept derivation process, there is several core design elements in the product development process, these elements can not only represent the basic user needs but also the user inner unconscious needs, at the same time it keeps the aesthetic concern.

  • 컴퓨터 프로그래밍에 의해 특정 모티브 이미지를 기반으로 다양한 규칙과 불규칙요인을 포함한 동적구성을 완성한다. 완성된 동적구성에서 타임 슬라이스를 통해 다수의 이미지컷을 생성하고 이를 단독 또는 혼합하여 그래픽디자인의 소스로 사용하는 등 예술적으로 활용하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 이러한 방법을 '프로그래밍아트'라고 칭하고자 한다. 첫번째 시도한 모티브는 색동이다. 조선 복식에서 기쁨과 즐거움의 표현으로 사용된 원색들은 배열의 질서를 갖춰 색동의 형식을 취함으로써 원색 조화의 미를 보여준다. 이제까지 "탈 색동화에 의한 디자인 전개"는 색동의 조형요소를 다양하게 변형시키는 것으로 여러 분야의 디자이너들에 의해 색동의 색이나 색 너비등의 변형으로 시도되고 있다. 색동의 색상과 이미지틀을 유지하면서 변형할 영역을 도출하여 프로그래밍하였고, 몇가지 유형의 그래픽 재료를 생산하고 이를 재가공하였다. 예술의 창의적 과정에서 프로그래밍을 통한 자동화 영역을 찾는 것은 다소 불합리해 보이지만, 창의적인 작업과정을 세부적으로 나누면서 규칙적 영역을 발굴하거나, 그 영역 내에서도 인터랙션을 통해 인간의 의지가 반영될 수 있다. 이는 인간과 컴퓨터가 공조하여 창의성을 추구함으로써 컴퓨터를 또 하나의 생명체로 간주해가는 미래사회 협업의 새로운 유형의 시도라 생각한다.

Research on Creative Thinking Program in Design Management Education (디자인 매니지먼트 교육에서의 창의적 아이디어 발상을 위한 교육프로그램)

  • A new awareness on design in economy and business domain has shifted the focus of design education from the description and presentation to the creativity. This contextual change raises new awareness on the importance of the design management training program. The goal of this research is to suggest a program of design management training program in Korean context. For the purpose, the history of design management activity is briefly reviewed. And then the curriculum between Korean design schools and design management schools abroad is reviewed. The result shows that the design management schools abroad emphasize leadership based on practicality and the program is also ran by School of Business Management. The curriculum consists of leadership program and creativity program. The leadership comprises individual, personal, and collaborative. The leadership takes the role of catalyst in the organization to draw a creativity and raise it. So both leadership and creativity are inseparable. The result of creativity, however, differ from one another based on individual's capacity, procedure, and social context. Thus, it is important to develop a design management program which considers individual, social context, as well as economy and business domain.

A Study on Comparative Amount of Idea Thinking between Brainstorming and Webstorming (브레인스토밍과 WebStorming의 아이디어 발상량(發想量) 비교 연구)

  • To develop a creative design concept, amount of idea thinking between team members is important. In the process of planning to proposal brainstorming helps clarification of problems and allows a creative solution. Here, idea generation is to express thinking into words, and greater amount of idea is more valued than to choose one fine idea at first. This paper studies actual processes of brainstorming, and we utilize network services upgraded in Web and multimedia techniques to develop idea with arrangement. We compare the amount of idea generation by groups and topics with Brainwriting and Braindrawing of Webstorming, without limitation of space and time. Then, we propose a creative idea thinking by analyzing the characteristics of design team members in various aspects. This result will contribute in improving national potential value and design competitiveness by the help of design and IT, on product research and marketing.

Idea Effect of Product Design Class Using Scamper (스캠퍼 기법을 활용한 제품 디자인 수업의 발상 효과)

  • This study aims to conduct product design class using scamper technique and to verify its creative effectiveness. Therefore, this study conducted a product design class using SCAMPER to 52 students in the second year of specialized high school, analyzed the results, and verified the effectiveness of idea generation through SCAMPER with a survey. As a result, most of the students used the 'combine' and 'modify' techniques most often to combine other products with existing products or to find and correct problems of existing products. Second, when using SCAMPER, 'flexibility' and 'reconstruction' were used among the creative components. It turned out to provide the ability to see objects from a new perspective. Third, the results of the post-class survey showed that students' satisfaction with the class using SCAMPER was high, which helped them to develop creative ideas.

A Development of Extracurricular Programs for Enhancing Creative Self-Efficacy based on Design Thinking Process (창의적 자기효능감 향상을 위한 디자인씽킹 기반 비교과 프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a extracurricular programs for enhancing creative self-efficacy of college student based on design thinking process, and to examine the effectiveness of the developed program. Since this study is also interested in suggesting the procedure for extracurricular program development and optimizing programs by derivation of improvements, a design-based research method was applied. Results are as follow; first, the procedure for extracurricular program development proceeds in three stages, second, the programs was developed as a 30-hour in-depth program and was conducted twice during winter and summer vacation, and the last, the program was confirmed that it has a positive effect on improving creative self-efficacy. This study contributed to providing a general procedure that can be referred when developing a program that reflects the context of the university, and to present the specific program and the case that use the test tool to confirm the effectiveness.

  • As keen marketing competition for increasing corporate image has been begun, the creative level of annual report design, which is deeply involved with investment, has became a fundamental measure of corporate value. Good commercial design has to have both practical and aesthetic aspect. For make more creative annual report project. it's worth to find world design trend in practical way. The point of study focuses and sorts on physical properties of out-put works by the view point of editorial design, and tries to find the possibility of common design style. It analyzes key message, pagination plan and feature pages of 2013 ARC awarded annual report works in interior design category. The visual image and typographic style study of awarded works will help planner and designer who develop annual report project, because this research data reduces their process. Then it's possible to have more opportunities to create project and supports background material for making a presentation for clients.
