A Study on the Relocation of Heungbok-jeon formerly known as the Hamil-jae of Changui-gung Palace in the Reconstruction of Gyeongbok-gung Palace (경복궁 중건 시 창의궁 함일재의 흥복전 이건에 관한 연구)

  • This study explains details on Heungbokjeon during the reconstruction of Gyeongbokgung Palace in the 19th century for the first time in 273 years. Hence, the construction of a palace with more than 7,000 Kan(間) made possible in a short stretch of time. Given the fact that its existing architecture was recycled. The antecedent of Heungbokjeon(興福殿) was the Hamiljae(咸一齋) of Changuiggung(彰義宮) which served as the residence of King Yeongjo before he was enthroned. On the other hand, the Changuigung was the outset of Inpyeongwi-gung(寅平尉宮), which was built for the princesses. During the reign of King Hyojong the princess who got married must depart from the Inpyeongwi-gung. This study corroborated the undertaking of modification of its architecture frombeing asymmetrical house to symmetrical most primarily the inner part of the palace through the innovation of Changui-gung and the restoration of Hamijae to Heungbokjeon. Hence, it was confirmed that the Heungbokjeon was the only inner part of the palace that was not burned down by the 2 consecutive fires during the reign of King Gojong, to be more specific these fire happend on his 10th and 13th year of rule. Consequently, the research process of Gyeongbokgung Heungbokjeon can escalate the possibility of considering not only the reconstruction of Gyeongbokgung in the 19th century, as well as the construction of the capital city in the 17th century.

  • S/W, Coding 3d Print, Aduino, IoT 등은 4차 산업혁명 시대에 주요 산업 분야에서 공통으로 쓰이는 핵심 기술이다. 2018년도부터 코딩 교육 의무화가 되었으며, 4차 산업혁명 시대에 필요한 인재상인 창의 융합형 인재를 육성할 수 있는 교육이 더욱 필요한 때이다. 본 논문에서는 별자리 12궁에 대한 과학적 지식을 탐구하며 Coding, 3D Print, Aduino에 관한 지식을 교육하기 위한 시스템을 만들어 보았다. 메이커 교육을 융합한 창의 융합형 교구인 별 빛 교구와 별자리 무드 등을 제작하였으며, 이 2가지의 교구의 구성 및 교육 내용에 대해 기술하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to ascertain the material design element in traditional palaces among those in the neighboring three nations of East Asia, notably Korea, China and Japan. Undoubtedly the ultimate goal to be pursued has to be inquiry into the identical prototype of Korean material design element. The cultures of East Asia, finely balanced between survival and extinction, sought to tame the natural world. They transformed its raw materials so as to more convenient human life. In this study, the material of the traditional palace is characterized by the actual use. It is to be noticed that the mainly common characteristics of the material is naturalism'. That is, the kind of material is differed from the country - marble or granite, nanmu or cypress -, the East Asian countries have similarity and make use of their own native materials. The typical features of China are glassy surface by artificial process, the meandered curve. In Japan, made-up rough surface by artificial skill. While the major features of Korean material design element are rough surface by natural process.

A Study on the Costumes for the Crown Prince Based on the Picture for School Entrance Ceremony in 1817 (1817년 효명세자 입학례의 왕세자 복식 고증)

  • This study looks at the costumes for the crown prince based on the Hyomyeong of 1817, a collection of the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage. The picture of School Entrance Ceremony of the Crown Prince (王世子入學圖) does not have the crown prince in the scene. However, it can be verified through literature that there are three different costumes for the ceremony. Chulgungui(出宮儀), the ceremony's first procedure, describes the departure of the prince crown from his residence toward Sungkyunkwan (成均館) with his escorting officials. The Crown Prince wears Seoyeonbok (書筵服) during this event. When the Crown Prince arrives at Sungkyunkwan, he participates in a series of ceremonies that consist of Jackhunui (酌獻儀), Wangbokui (往復儀), Supeiui (脩弊儀), and Ipackui (入學儀). At that time, he wears a confucian scholar's uniform. After returning from Sungkyunkwan, he attends Suhaui (受賀儀), the final procedure of the Crown Prince's School Entrance, at Simindang (詩敏堂) of Changgyong Palace(昌慶宮), At this time, the price crown wears Wonyukwanbok (遠遊冠服) as he is congratulated by royal family members and high ranking officials for his entrance to Sungkyunkwan in this ceremony. This point hereby concludes this study on the historical costumes for the prince crown based on the Hyomyeong Crown Prince's School Entrance in 1817.

Study on Establishment of Deoksugung Palace, Tourist Information Services using Augmented Reality(AR) Technology (증강현실(AR) 기술을 이용한 덕수궁 관광안내서비스 구축방안 연구)

  • Sudden increase exceeding 30million in the number of smart phone users, and rising interest in the technology of augmented reality, is now trying to combine it with AR technology in other areas very much. The field of cultural heritage, which has been constructed by the Internet and 3D technology, is not unusual and this field is now rapidly changing thanks to the AR technology which can make users experience cultural heritage with high reality. The Palaces in Seoul, however, use fragmentary tools of information - lack of heritage commentators, leaflet, etc, even though the number of visitors is gradually increasing. Therefore, three-dimensional and comprehensive cultural heritage information service is needed with the guidance in the mobile era. This study utilizes the AR technology for building the Deoksugung Tourist Information Service Application(App.) applying the markerless-based recognition technology which is a more advanced tool than the location-based AR technology. This new AR technology can switch perceived real images such as the tablet of the King in the Palace of in the real world, patterns and pedestals into virtual world, which can reproduce the damaged cultural assets as 3D. This also composes photos of the past with the current buildings, which can increase people's interest and absorption of the contents, and helps them understand and be aware of Korean traditional culture and cultural heritage effectively. In addition, convergence between IT new technology, Augmented Reality(AR) and humanities through storytelling based implementation of cultural heritage in smart phone is attempted to demonstrate that there is strength in which augmented reality technique exerts infinite creativity based on actual reality world.

  • This study tried to establish a system of service paradigm by re-examining the Korean play culture through the people who play in the era of King Jeongjo and revealing the integration of modern service culture. The results of this study are as follows. First, King Jeongjo inspired the autonomy and creativity of the participants through the patronage of Changdeokgung Palace and led the renaissance era of Joseon as a creative play. The creative play of the service industry is reborn as a place of innovation that realizes development through a communicative intellectual network. Second, the 60th birthday Jin Chan-yeon and the aesthetics of slowness that evoke artistic play are the language of innovation that transcends language and culture. Artistic play becomes a channel of communication to share happiness with people around the world based on absolute beauty and aesthetic sensibility. Third, Jeongjo was a humanist in Joseon. This humanistic ideology leads to humanistic religion. K-service, which uses religious play as a medium, has a turning point towards healing and happiness as all participants in the service experience sacredness. There is an implication in that it pioneered a service culture by presenting a new paradigm by combining play and service, and laid the groundwork for building a unique area in global business.

A Study on Nam Nyeong-wie Yun Uiseon's Gwanbok Described in the List of Wedding Gifts in 1837 (남녕위(南寧尉) 윤의선(尹宜善)의 1837년 「혼수발기」 속 관복(冠服) 고찰)

  • The National Hangeul Museum houses a document list of the wedding gifts that Queen Sunwon granted her royal son-in-law, Nam Nyeong-wie, in August 1837. A total of 55 items were recorded in Hangeul Gungseo style on yellow paper. This list included four types of government officials' uniforms, casual wear, accessories, etc. The results of studying the 19th-century male officials' uniforms through this historic record were as follows. The clothing record in the List of Wedding Gifts was more accurate than that in the Dukongongju Garyedeungrok. The four types of government official uniforms for Nam Nyeong-wie included jeobok, sangbok, sibok, and gongbok. For the joebok, there was geumkwan, daehong-hangrah joebok, baeksam, ahole, seodae, gakpae, peseul, paeok, husu, and mokhwa. The record of the List confirms that baeksam was used as jungdan for joebok. For the gongbok, there was daehong-hangrah gongbok, blue seolhancho duhgre, blue saenggyeonggwangju changui, and green waehangrah kurimae. The record of the List shows that the lining of the gongbok was duhgre, and confirms, for the first time, that changui and kurimae were worn inside the gongbok. For the sangbok, there was samo, ssanghakhyungbae embroidered with golden thread, dark green cloud patterned gapsa gwandae, blue cloud patterned gapsa duhgre, blue ssangmuncho changui, and Chinese purple hwamunsa kurimae. For the sibok, there was pink gwangsa gwandae, and blue gwangcho duhgre. For the lining, blue duhgre was used. Lastly, the fabrics used for those costumes were all suitable for the climate in August.

  • The purpose of this study is to ascertain pattern design element in traditional palaces among those in the neighboring three nations of East Asia, notably Korea, China and Japan. The basic assumption underlying this study is that these northeastern Asian states have been developed a unique inter-cultural ties over long periods of time in history, culminating in their respective design cultures. Undoubtly the ultimate goal to be pursued, by so doing, has to be inquiry into the identical prototype of Korean pattern design element. In the West, the pattern is appreciated by an aesthetic level, but the East Asian pattern is a symbolic alphabet deeply rooted in religious and folk beliefs. The difference of the respective country comes from the expression style of the pattern the Chinese express the magnificent pattern with various color, the Korean do the moderate pattern with harmonious color with the nature and the Japanese do the stylized pattern with the material color. To sum up similarities and dissimilarities among the design element in traditional palaces of Korea, China, and Japan is as the following : It is to be noticed that the mainly common characteristics of the artistic design are 'naturalism', 'harmonious ideas 'and 'confucianism'. But the representation style of the design element is differed from the country.

A Comparison Study of Traditional Landscape through Cultural Exchange between Korea and China (한(韓)·중(中) 문화교류를 통한 전통조경의 비교 연구)

  • Traditional landscape is a cultural asset left by Seonhyeon to modern society, and it can not only understand the landscape culture of ancient tradition but also provides / provided a new creative material for modern landscape designs / designed. However, it is well known that Korea and China have a relationship between the development and exchange of landscaping in a global background, the succession of traditional landscape architecture culture in a global background covers many dimensions, including protection, development and innovation, and that "traditional and modern" and "regionally and internationality" should be harmonized with each other. This study uses traditional Korean and Chinese landscaping buildings as research subjects to extract and organize related data through various channels, including basic literature research that understands the history and culture of the two countries. I interpreted the cultural backgrounds of the two countries by dividing them into religious ideas, traditional culture, and natural views, and highlighted the history of development and the relationship between the two countries. Based on this, it analyzed the differences created by traditional landscaping between Korea and China, and also specifically analyzed the "creation of righteous army" and "the law of righteous army." In particular, this study sought to inherit and innovate traditional landscape culture for the internationalization of "One Belt, One Road" based on the characteristics of Korea and China's landscape through a comparative analysis of the construction elements and methods of Yihwawon of the Ming and Qing periods and Gyeongbokgung Palace of the Joseon Dynasty on the theoretical background of landscaping and the significance of landscaping. The direction for the development and exchange with landscaping between the two countries was presented in line with the development trend of Korea-China landscaping in the global environment. In the future, the development of landscaping between the two countries is expected to be key to international cooperation in traditional culture, creative combination of local characteristics, creation of a harmonious landscape architecture environment, and co-prosperity of various cultures.
