This study aimed to examine the influences of an experience of purchasing random items and gambling behaviors among adolescents in South Korea. This study performed a series of binominal logistic regression analyses by using a sample of 17,520 adolescents from the 2018 Survey on Youth Gambling Problems. The findings are a follows. First, 49.9% of the adolescents had experience in buying random items. Second, an experience of buying random items among adolescents who have experienced betting games are related to problem gambling(OR=1.48, p<.001). Third, an experience of buying random items among adolescents who have no experienced in betting games are related to intention to participate in legalized gambling(OR=1.89, p<.001). Fourth, there were no gender differences in the influence of an experience of purchasing random items on gambling behaviors. Based on the findings, implications for addressing gambling problems among adolescents were discussed.

This study aims to investigate the effects of regular participation in physical activity on personal happiness by analyzing the "2014 National Leisure Sports Participation Survey". By using cross-tabulation and the binary logit model, it is found that there is a positive correlation between those two variables. The effect of positive affect on happiness index was found to be influenced by age, education level, occupation, income, marital status, appear. The results of the analysis of the relationship between the presence of sports facilities and the participation of regular physical activity using crosstab analysis and the analysis of physical activity showed positive relationship between two variables. Hence, it is expected that providing more opportunities to participate in sports programs can lead the public to more regular participation in physical activity.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of computer use in elderly's social participation. Specifically, the participants(aged 65-74 yrs) were classified according to the computer usage patterns, and the effect of the computer use pattern on social participation was investigated. And the study identified the impact of social attributes within computer use in detail through different types of social activity analysis. In order to statistical analysis, data from the investigation of elderly welfare conditions and needs in Busan(2009) was used. Findings indicated that 1) the elderly computer users were classified in three types; "information search/hobby-pattern", "hobby-pattern", and "information search/communication pattern". 2) the effect of computer use by the elderly in social participation was positive. 3) the "information search/communication pattern" users tended to actively involve in social participations, and pursued activation and expansion of social networking, seeking organizational and social benefits. Practical and social implications and limitations of the study were discussed.

Although previous studies have found that social participation activities are related to older people's life satisfaction and health status, the rate of social participation activities among older people is still low. The current study examined the relationship between age identity and social participation activities among older people and the extent to which this relationship differs by gender. Secondary data from the Survey of Living Conditions of Korean Older Persons were used to test the research hypothesis. Hierarchical multiple regression models were tested using a nationally representative sample of 10,451 community-dwelling older persons aged 65 and above. Older people who have older age identity were less likely to involve in social participation activities than those who have younger age identity. However, this relationship was only significant for older women. The findings suggest the need for attention to age identity and gender differences when promoting social participation activities.

이 글은 지난 4월 27일부터 5월 6일까지 스위스, 독일, 핀란드를 방문하고 현지의 이동/휴대방송 실태를 조사한 것을 기초로 하고 있다. 현재 우리나라가 추진하고 있는 지상파이동멀티미디어 도입정책이 간과하고 있는 중요한 기술적인 고려사항을 함께 고민할 수 있는 실질적인 정보를 확인할 수 있다는 차원에서 시사하는 바가 크다. 이번 현지 조사에는 전국언론 노동조합을 비롯하여 정보통신부, 방소위원회등 디지털 TV논쟁의 주요당사자들이 참여하는 형식을 띠고 있다는 차원에서도 큰 의미가 있다. 이미 일부 언론에서는 정부가 현재의 지상파DMB와 더블어 DVB-H도 이동 휴대수신 기술표준으로 병행하겠다는 입자을 밝히고 있고 방송위원회도 이를 깊이 검토하고 있다. 이글은 일조으이 '과거열상태'로 전개되고 있는 우리나라의 지상파이동멀티미디어를 되짚어보고 DVB-H의 현재 진행 사하을 가김없이 현지에서 확인한 사실 들로 구성해보고자 한다. 조사단이 중점적으로 검토한 사항은 크게 4가지로 분류할 수 있다. DVB-H의 기술표준 개발현황, 사용화 가능 시기, 지적재산권 문제, 국가별 DVB-H 채택전망과 지상파 DAB 방송실태이다. 본 고에서도 이와 같은 분류로 실태조사 결과를 기술하고자한다.

1983년 전자통신연구소에서 한국형 LAN개발 프로젝트(K-LAN)를 추진하면서 국내에 처음 소개되어진 LAN은 일부 대기업들의 주도하에 시장을 형성하여왔으며, 또한 PC 판매업체들이 자사의 PC를 판매하기 위한 일환으로 PC LAN을 공급하기 시작한 1988년부터는 신규업체들의 참여가 가속화되면서 시장이 점차 확장되었다.

One of the most fundamental problems an ageing society faces is the role deprivation and social isolation of older persons. In this respect, restoring the roles and social status of older persons by promoting their social participation is considered crucial to enhancing their quality of life. From such viewpoint, this study aims at analyzing the social participation of older persons from an actor-oriented perspective. To do so, this study classifies various social participatory activities into representative activity types and analyzes the socio-demographic determinants of each activity types. The findings show that the participatory activities of Korean older persons could be classified into four types : volunteer-focused, religion-focused, occupation-focused and kyungrodang-focused social participation. Also, it has been found that the determinants of each social participation types, including the non-participatory type, differs according to the socio-demographic condition of each older person, thus indicating that differentiated policy measure is required to enhance the activites of Korean older persons.

This study intends to investigate how many LIS students take a interest in cultural programs offered by local libraries, and whether such a interest leads to actual participation in cultural programs. To the end, surveys and in-depth interviews were conducted on 2nd and 3rd year students from department of Library and Information Science in Busan. The result of this study shows low participation and passive attitude, even though LIS students fully recognize the importance of cultural programs in local libraries. The final suggestions include both educational strategies and practical guidance which might be helpful to attract voluntary participation from prospective librarians and to promote absorption of domain knowledge.

As local government is of great importance for the sake of advancement of the political system based on national participation in politics and recognition for autonomy, it is proper to appreciate the need and come up with strategies so that the local government can be successfully established and developed. Therefore, a survey was conducted among residents, civil officials, and local councils, who are the main bodies of local government. As a Jesuit, it turned out that there were problems in terms of specialty and integrity, that there are potential risks of local or group egoism, and that political indifference is getting intensified among some residents, and even they tend to avoid participation. This result indicates that there are needs for the establishment of the recognition and efforts for consistent reconsideration among participants.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the status of the joint forest project, which is one of the national forest management system, by using stakeholder participation, transparency of decision making, accountability of actors and stakeholders, The questionnaire survey was conducted using the 5 - point scale and the written form. As a result of the questionnaire survey, various stakeholder participation items had the highest opportunity to participate with an average of 3.3 and the lowest score with 2.3 points for establishing conflict and conflict resolution structures. Transparency was analyzed to be 3.4 points for the project disclosure, 2.7 points for information sharing and education promotion activities for local residents, 3.3 points for the detailed role of the project implementer, and 2.7 points for internal and external monitoring and evaluation of the project with various stakeholders. The results of this research, analyzed through the participatory forest management index, are deemed to be used as basic data for the establishment of a plan for the revitalization of national forest participation management.
