The present study, on the bass of a premise that reference lists are one of the social products, reflecting various social environments of their own society, was made as part of an attempt to explore the co-occurrence phenomenon of both Korean and Non-Korean Literatures occurred within the Korean references. 321 authors (articles) of 43 Korean journals on Social Sciences were surveyed on research channels and citation motivations and their 11358 references were analyzed. The findings are as follows : 1) The extent of the co-occurrence was that Non-Korean literatures were more 1.9 times (65.3%) cited than Korean ones and English (61.5%)-American (50.4%) predominancy was heavily found. 2) Research channel, worked as an indicator of the identity of researcher as well as the source of research ideas was most Non-Korean channel orientedness (55.8%). 3) Citation motivations were significantly depended on whether Korean or Non-Korean literatures and non-Korean literatures were cheifly cited to be conceptual motivations than other motivations. 4) Research channel among variables was worked as a main effect predicting major citation motivations on Non-Korean literatures. Finally, this study is very suggestive : 1) It might be a new approach and interpretation by adopting citation motivations to explore a process of knowledge producting of researchers 2) Partly, it proved empirically the relationship of knowledge producted by Korean researchers to Non-Korean knowledge through the analysis of citation motivations.

Bibliographic metadata can help researchers effectively utilize essential publications that they need and grasp academic trends of their own fields. With the manual creation of the metadata costly and time-consuming. it is nontrivial to effectively automatize the metadata construction using rule-based methods due to the immoderate variety of the article forms and styles according to publishers and academic societies. Therefore, this study proposes a two-step extraction process based on rules and deep neural networks for generating bibliographic metadata of scientific articlles to overcome the difficulties above. The extraction target areas in articles were identified by using a deep neural network-based model, and then the details in the areas were analyzed and sub-divided into relevant metadata elements. IThe proposed model also includes a model for generating reference summary information, which is able to separate the end of the text and the starting point of a reference, and to extract individual references by essential rule set, and to identify all the bibliographic items in each reference by a deep neural network. In addition, in order to confirm the possibility of a model that generates the bibliographic information of academic papers without pre- and post-processing, we conducted an in-depth comparative experiment with various settings and configurations. As a result of the experiment, the method proposed in this paper showed higher performance.

This study intended to examine and analyze current status of CD-ROM use in reference and information service in major university libraries. 66 university libraries with holdings of over 200,000 were selected throughout the country, and questionnaires were sent out by mail for data collection. Current status of CD-ROM use, some issues and problems on CD-ROM searching by reference librarians and users, and future trends of CD-ROM use were examined. Few suggestions were made for the effective CD-ROM use in reference and information service.

This research suggests the standard reference needed for constructing the bibliographic descriptive national science citation index(KSCI). There are several types of analysis: the APA style, the MLA style, the Chicago Manual Style, and the Korean major periodical's style in Library and Information Science. The core elements are author, title, and issue. We propose the Author-Date system, and Note and Bibliography form. For citation of books only available online, the URL must be included as a part of the citation along with its record of most recent access, and retrieval.

Most of the university libraries in Korea provide digital reference service(DRS), but the use of DRS is very low. The low usage of DRS seems to result from the lack of subject librarians, of staff, of public relations, and of managers' enthusiastic attitude and understanding of DRS. It is difficult to solve these problems because of the poor circumstances in universities. The collaborative digital reference service(CDRS) is a solution to these problems. Not only CDRS costs little but also can provide reference services in many different subject areas. Though subject specialist librarian, user-friendly system interface, system programs and administrative supports are necessary to implement CDRS, the education and training of the subject specialist librarians is the most important work to be done in the university library situation in Korea.

디지탈도서관은 전세계적인 도서관 및 상업적 정보에 대한 접근과 이들 정보의 전달을 제공해 주는 전자 네트워크를 통해 도서관의 자료 및 정보 서비스 그리고 다른 정보원에 대한 원격 접근의 개념으로 앞으로 다가올 미래의 도서관의 모습이 될 것이다. 본 연구는 디지탈 도서관의 출현으로 인해 전통적인 참고서비스에 대한 역할 변화가 있을 것으로 보고 이에 대한 대안으로서 전자참고서비스를 논하고자 한 것이다.

본 연구에서 개발된 참고봉사 지원시스템은 도서관 안내정보시스템과 주제ㆍ토픽 전문가시스템으로 구성된다. 도서관 안내정보시스템은 도서관의 이용정보, 자료이용방법, 온라인목록의 사용방법 등에 관한 안내정보를 제공하는 시스템이다. 주제ㆍ토픽 전문가시스템은 정보사서가 가지고 있는 석유화학분야의 정보조사제공과 관련된 경험적 지식을 이용하여 관련 정보를 제공하는 전문가시스템이다. 본 연구에서 개발된 참고봉사 지원시스템은 IBM 호환기종의 개인용 컴퓨터(IBM PC AT 286 이상)에서 운영되며, 본 시스템의 개발언어로는 얘기보따리, 멀티미디어 메이커(Multimedia Maker), 1st-CLASS를 사용하였다.

수학 논문이나 수학 교육 논문을 쓸 때 LATEX을 쓰는 것 이 좋다. 이 글은 2002년 8월 30 ${\sim}$31일 서울대학교에서 한국수학교육학회 주최 "제 28회 전국수학교육연구대회"에서 있을 웍샵의 교안으로 만들었다. LATEX을 쓸 때 그림 파일을 입력하는 방법과 표 만들기 등에 대하여 알아 본다. 그리고 참고 문헌의 작성과 참고 문헌을 본문에 인용하는 방법에 대해서도 다룬다.

Based on the comprehensive literature search and the sample library surveys, some observations are made on the impact of online information technologies for reference services. Various issues specifically with OPAC, CD-ROM, remote database access, and internet environment are overviewed as the source of and trigger for change in reference librarianship and in terms of expectations as well as difficulties. The paper then focuses on how these technologies influence on the roles of reference librarians as intermediaries in information providing, instructing, consulting, and evaluating functions. This leads to rethinking the conceptual basis of today's reference service and the competencies for reference librarians with new functions and responsibilities.

This study investigated the current state of the reference services of the Korean university libraries and examined ways to improve the system. Especially this study introduced the concept of 'subjectized reference services'and tried to find a way to apply it to the present stage of the Korean university libraries. For that purpose, this study surveyed the reference librarians of the university libraries across the country. The results of this study can be used as the basic data for training 'subject specialist librarians', who can provide specialized services appropriate to the realities of the Korean university libraries.
