  • 학교도서관은 그 어느 때보다도 높은 관심 속에서 발전하고 있다. 그림에도 불구하고 학교도서관을 운영할 사서교사의 배치는 난관에 부딪혀 있다. 이에 본고에서는 도서관의 고유한 역할인 참고봉사의 기능을 학교 교육과 연계시켜 한가지 해결책을 제시한다. 도서관 업무의 꽃이라고 하는 참고봉사는 기본 2대 기능이 정보와 교육에 있다. 이중에서 교육 기능의 측면에서 어떻게 사서교사를 학교도서관에 배치할 수 있는가하는 점에 초점을 두고 이 논문을 전개한다. 또 본고에서는 국내외 정보이용 교육과정, 초ㆍ중등학교 정보와 도서관 교육과정의 구성과 기반 이론, 향후 현장 학교도서관과 학계에 미칠 교과교육학의 영향, 정보와 도서관 교육과정의 정책 방향 등에 대해 제시하였다.

Analyzing Barriers to Researchers' Information Seeking Satisfaction on Reference & Information Services of Research Library (전문도서관 참고봉사에 대한 연구자의 정보만족도에 영향을 미치는 저해요인 분석)

  • This study is aimed at providing qualitative evaluation of information supplied by reference librarian in response to researchers' questions. Information users' satisfaction on the appropriateness of librarians' answers was evaluated, and at the same time, negative factors affecting users' satisfaction were examined, so that improvement of service quality and information appropriateness can be sought by analyzing the influences and correlation between these factors. For this study, information centers at ten professional research institute carrying out government-related projects were selected, and data were collected using unobtrusive evaluation methods through observation and questionnaires. Collected materials were analyzed using SPSS/PC+' statistical analysis programs and $\chi^2(Chi-square)$ statistical methods.

  • The purpose of the present study is to verify the two hypotheses: (1) Online services are fundamentally automated versions of the reference services. Accordingly there will be a major impact on reference services when Online service is introduced into the traditional library environment. The chief impact will be that the use of data bases retrieval service supplements and improves the traditional reference service when Online service is coordinated with the traditional reference service. and is fully incorporated into the existing user service areas. (2) The availability of data bases retrieval service will make it possible for the first time for the reference services to offer substantial search services of any kind resources limited to the printed sources. In light of such circumstances, libraries would provide better service to their users and greatly increase the productivity of reference librarians. There will be also the recognition that a result of an improved professional image for reference librarians and the library heightens user interest. This change may be translated into increased usage of library services generally. To achieve the purpose, 4 Research Libraries adopted Online retrieval from DIALOG's data bases-searching and reference services available in-house were chosen.

  • University library is more than just a collection. In other words, it is an access point and gateway to a world-wide information. Therefore, the evaluation of hybrid library and information services should be recognized an essential management activity. The goal of this study is to develope a new evaluation model for Korean university libraries, based on the analysis of existing models and perception level of the shakeholder groups. As result of statistical analysis, the study suggested six evaluation domains, thirty-seven indicators, and the relative importance (weight) and measure criterion.

  • The importance of Knowledge Management (KM) can be easily recognized in many diverse aspects of the theory studies and in KM's efforts to help implement the government's policy to innovate corporation management. The core of KM is to improve the circulation of knowledge by generation, accumulation, sharing, utilization and acquisition by learning. The improvement of knowledge circulation would result in high quality and quantity of intellectual assets in corporations and make decision-making more efficient. This, too, is the operational philosophy of the special libraries. The primary objective of this study is to promote KM by presenting KM methodology and by explaining a theoretical background and cases, based on the existing special libraries. I cite an example of a case wherein merging intellectual assets and human resources activated the company culture. The reference service system, which is the core of the special library, was used in this merging.
