Purpose : The study looked at how effective each group wearing MyoVison lens, MC lens, and Single Vision lensdepending on their parents' myopia condition. Methods : The study observed the changeof spherical equivalent among customers, who visited between January 2010 and December 2016,of an optical shop in Incheon Metropolitan City. And we observed MyoVision 152 eyes, MC Lens 86 eyes and Single Vision lens 270 eyes. This study was conducted using SPSS ver18, which analyzes the changes in average values of MyoVision, MC Lens, and Single Vision for a year.In each group, the differences in the group were compared using the Paired T-test and then one-way ANOVA (post-hoc; Bonferroni) Results : Group-to-group comparisons showed that MyoVision and MC Lens have a shorterinhibition than Single Vision. In particular, MyoVisionand MC Lens showed different relief effects depending on the degree of refraction of parents. When both parents had normal refractive, the change between MyoVision and Single Vision lens was $-0.35{\pm}0.05D$. When the father had a refraction MC lens were $-0.36{\pm}0.14D$ more effective than Single Vision. When only the mother had refraction, the mean value between MyoVision and Single Vision lens was $-0.37{\pm}0.06D$, and the mean between MC lens and Single Vision lens was $-0.38{\pm}0.08D$. And when both parents had refraction problems, the mean value change between MyoVision and Single Vision lens was $-0.28{\pm}0.07D$, and $-0.31{\pm}0.07D$, respectively. Conclusion : MyoVision and MC Lens appeared to have no effect on the functions of mitigating myopia in within group comparisons, but MyoVision and MC Lens showed reducing myopia than Single Vision in between group.
Background: Recently transilluminated powered phlebectomy was introduced and used as a method of surgical treatment for varicose vein in lower extremities. The advantage of transilluminated powered phlebectomy are minimal scar and good cosmetic effect. However, the disadvantages of transilluminated powered phlebectomy is that a high priced Trivex system must be used which increases the patient's expenses. Therefore, we performed a transilluminated powered phlebectomy using an existing arthroscopic equipment instead of Trivex system and observed the effect of treatment and efficiency of the treatment. Material and Method: From March, 2000 to February, 2003, 78 patients (113 limbs) underwent transilluminated powered phlebectomy with an arthroscopic equipment. Patient's disease history, the number of operative scars and complications were reviewed. Result: The operation was performed in 133 limbs of the 78 patients (34 men, 44 women) and the age of patients were ranged from 16 to 72 years with mean age of 41.8 years. Operative time ranged from 20 to 65 minutes (average 48.7 minutes) per limb. The number of operative scar per limb from 2 to 7 (average 4.9). Postoperative complications are transient ecchymosis (78 cases) that desappeared spontaneously, edema persisting longer than 3 weeks (6 cases), remnant varicose vein (4 cases), skin perforation during operative procedure (2 cases), and contact dermatitis due to compression stocking (4 cases) The mean hospitalization day was 3.09 days. Subjective mean satisfaction degree of operation by the patients using a visual analogue scale was 92.6%. Conclusion: Our findings demonstrated that transilluminated powered phleectomy using arthroscopic equipment was possible and had good cosmetic results with acceptable complications.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of walking exercise with blood flow restriction (BFR) on insulin resistance, adipokines and gut hormones in middle aged obese women. Eleven obese women (BMI > 25kg/m2; body fat > 30%) wore pneumatic pressure belts at both femurs and performed walking exercise consisting of walking for 2 min and resting for 1min twice per day, 3 days/wk for 4 weeks. Insulin significantly increased after exercise (p<0.05), while glucose increased slightly, but not significantly. Additionally, HOMA-IR decreased significantly after exercise (p<0.05), while adiponectin and visfatin increased, but not significantly. Finally, ghrelin (p<0.05) and GLP-1 (p<0.05) increased significantly after exercise. These results suggest that walking exercise with blood flow restriction for 4 weeks improves insulin resistance, adipokines, and gut hormones in obese middle-aged women. Therefore, high intensity walking exercise with blood flow restriction for short periods of time has more positive effects on prevention and treatment of obesity-related metabolic diseases.

When performing experiments in indoor and outdoor environment, we need a system that monitors a volunteer to prevent dangerous situations and efficiently manages the data in real time. We developed a guidance device for visually impaired person that guides the user to walk safely to the destination in the previous study. We set a POI (Point of Interest) of a specific location indoors and outdoors and tracks the user's position and navigate the walking path using artificial markers and ZigBee modules as landmark. In addition, we develop path finding algorithm to be used for navigation in the guidance device. In the test bed, the volunteers are exposed to dangerous situations and can be an accident due to malfunction of the device since they are visually impaired person or normal person wearing a eye patch. Therefore the device requires a system that remotely monitors the volunteer wearing guidance device and manages indoor or outdoor a lot of map data. In this paper, we introduce a managing system that monitors the volunteers remotely and handles map data efficiently. We implement a management system which can monitor the volunteer in order to prevent a hazardous situation and effectively manage large amounts of data. In addition, we verified the effectiveness of the proposed system through various experiments.
TRAINER for Kids ($T4K^{TM}$, Myofunctional. Research Co, Australia) is a prefabricated myofunctional orthodontic appliance recommended to ClassII division1 malocclusion patients who have bad oral habits such as mouth breathing, tongue thrusting, inappropriate tongue position, thumb sucking and so on. Trainer has a soft texture and a small volume so that those advantages lead to an increase in the agreement rate of young patients of its use. This presentation is to analyze clinical efficacy of Trainer. The analysis is based on a result of regular follow-up on Class II division1 malocclusion patients who has been completely treated by Trainer in the Sanbon Dental Hospital of Wonkwang university. This case report is to present the satisfactory results gained by using Trainer on Class II patients. First, Trainer was applied in Class II malocclusion patients of mixed dentition with expected space insufficient to gain facial improvement. Second, excessive overjet, overbite were improved. Third, main effects are regarded to have been achieved by development of lingual slant of upper jaw, labial slant of lower jaw, and lower part of jaw bone.
The characteristics of amylose-lipid complex(AL-complex) and cyclodextirn-lipid complex(CL-complex) were investigated by using Differential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC). The enzymatic hydrolysis of amylose which was liberated from AL-complex by the addtion of ${\beta}-cyclodextrin({\beta}-CD)$was also studied. The melting temperatures of AL-complex in corn, wheat, and rice starch were above $100^{\circ}C$ and there were no differences among them. In the presence of lysolecithin, the melting enthalpy and temperature of AL-complex were increased and lysolecithin was very effective in the formation of AL-complex. When ${\beta}-CD$ was added to AL-complex, the endothermic peak of AL-complex at $100^{\circ}C$ decreased and that of CL-complex at $70^{\circ}C$ appeared. These results indicated that the amylose was released from AL-complex by substituting ${\beta}-CD$ for amylose, then by forming CL-complex. As the added amount of ${\beta}-CD$ increased, the peak of AL-complex decreased whereas that of CL-complex increased. Enzymatic hydrolysis rate of AL-complex increased in the presence of ${\beta}-CD$, suggesting that amylose was dissociated from AL-complex and hydrolyzed by amylase.

This study presents a gait analysis method (including time series analysis) using a smart insole as an objective and quantitative evaluating method after lumbar scoliosis surgery. The participant is a degenerative lumbar scoliosis patient. She took 3-min-gait-test four times(before and 8, 16, and 204-days after surgery) and 6-min-gait-test once(204-days after surgery) with smart-insoles in her shoes. Each insole has 8-pressure sensors, an accelerometer, and a gyroscope. The measured values were used to compare the characteristics of gait before and after surgery. The analysis showed that all of the patient's gait parameters improved after surgery. And after 6 months, the gait was more stable. However, after long walk, the swing duration of one leg was slightly shorter than that of the other again. It was a preclinical problem that could not be found in the visual examination by the practitioner. With this analysis method we could evaluate the improvement of patient quantitatively and objectively. And we could find a preclinical problem. This analysis method will lead to the studies that define and distinguish gait patterns of certain diseases, helping to determine appropriate treatments.

In order to prevent the national wide spread of the COVID-19 virus, the government enforces to use an electronic access registration system for public facilities to effectively track and manage the spread. Initially, there was a lot of hassle to write a directory, but recently a system for creating an electronic access list using QR codes, what is called KI-Pass, is mainly used. However, the procedure for generating a QR code is somewhat cumbersome. In this paper, we propose a new electronic access registration system that does not require QR code. This system effectively controls the suspicious visitor by using a mask wearing discriminator which has been implemented using deep learning technology, and a non-contact thermometer package. In addition, by linking the beacon, a short-range wireless communication technology, and the visitor's smartphone application, basic information of the facility visitor is automatically registered to KDCA through the server. On the other hand, the user access information registered in the server is encrypted and stored, and is automatically destroyed after up to 4 weeks. This system is expected to be very effective in preventing the spread of other new infectious diseases as well as responding to the coronavirus which is recording a high spread worldwide.

Since Corona 19, awareness about antibacterial bacteria has changed. Hand washing after going out became a necessity. Also, fogging occurs a lot on the glasses depending on the wearing of the mask. This problem has caused a lot of discomfort in our daily life and changed our perception of antibacterial and anti-fogging. Therefore, in this study, we studied whether mugwort extract is effective in preventing antibacterial and fogging. To obtain the mugwort extract, mugwort was dried, alcohol extracted, and freeze-dried. An antibacterial test was performed using a mixture of mugwort extract, zinc oxide and natural zeolite mixed in 3:7, and a fogging test was performed using mugwort extract and other mixtures. As a result, in the case of E. coli and K. pneumoniae, which were used as test strains in the antibacterial test, the bacteria were not cultured from the medium added with 1% mugwort extract, and the antibacterial activity against representative Gram-negative bacteria was confirmed. In the anti-fog test, a 10 wt% mixture of mugwort extract showed very good results in both the hot and cold parts. We expect the mugwort extract to be effective in antibacterial and anti-fogging, thus helping to overcome Corona 19.
