  • The current population of elderly is increasing and the with an extended average lifespan, the frequency of cancerous occurrences have also increased, with these increases and the increase in radiotherapy for cancer patients, recognitions of harm and importance have become known. This article was known tumor treatment of patients with hematopoietic disorder by doing a comparative study on the changes in blood cells caused by the acute effects of trace dose to high dose of radiation exposed to mice. According to the sensitizer injection may give rise to harm to the components of peripheral blood. This material needs to be considered when for treating tumor patients and the risks of hematopoietic harm and believe that radiation therapy will be reasonable.

  • During hot pipe bending using induction heating, the wall of bending outside is thinned by tensile stress. In design requirement, the reduction of wall thickness is not allowed to exceed 12.5%. So in this study, two methods of bending, one is loading of reverse moment and the other is loading of temperature gradient, have been investigated to design pipe bending process that satisfy design requirements. For this purpose, finite element analysis with a bending radius 2Do(outer diameter of pipe) has been performed to calculate proper reverse moment and temperature gradient to be applied. Induction heating process has been analyzed to estimate influence of heating process parameters on heating characteristic by finite difference method. Then pipe bending experiments have been performed for verification of finite element and finite difference analysis results. Experimental results are in good agreement with the results of simulations.

  • Diffraction tomography (DT) is a quantitative technique for high resolution subsurface imaging. In general DT algorithm is used for crosswell imaging. In this study high resolution GPR DT algorithm which is able to reconstruct high resolution image of subsurface structures in multi-monostatic geometry is developed. Developed algorithm is applied to finite difference data and its criteria of application and its limit are studied. Inversion parameters (number of imaging frequency, regularization factor, frequency range) are deduced from isolated weak scattering model. And the usuability of the algorithm is proved by applying to models which break the weak scattering approximation.

  • Fire-resistant (FR) test data for a square concrete-filled steel tube (CFT) columns consisting of high-strength steel (fy>650MPa) and high strength concrete (fck>100MPa) under axial loads are insufficient. The FR behavior of square high-strength CFT members was investigated experimentally for two specimens having ${\Box}-400{\times}400{\times}15{\times}3,000mm$ with two axial load cases (5,000kN and 2,500kN). The results show that the FR performance of the high-strength CFT was rapidly decreased at earlier time (much earlier at high axial load) than expected due to high strength concrete spalling and cracks. In addition, a fiber element analysis (FEA) model was proposed and used to simulate the fiber behaviour of the columns. For steel and concrete, the mechanical and thermal properties recommended in EN 1994-1-2 are adopted. Test results were compared to those of numerical analyses considering a combination of temperature and axial compression. The numerical model can reasonably predict the time-axial deformation relationship.

  • High-frequency electromagnetic (EM) wave propagation associated with borehole ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is a complicated phenomenon. To improve the understanding of the governing physical processes, we employ a finite-difference time-domain solution of Maxwell's equations in cylindrical coordinates. This approach allows us to model the full EM wavefield associated with crosshole GPR surveys. Furthermore, the use of cylindrical coordinates is computationally efficient, correctly emulates the three-dimensional geometrical spreading characteristics of the wavefield, and is an effective way to discretise explicitly small-diameter boreholes. Numerical experiments show that the existence of a water-filled borehole can give rise to a strong waveguide effect which affects the transmitted waveform, and that excitation of this waveguide effect depends on the diameter of the borehole and the length of the antenna.

  • In this paper an approach to building fuzzy models for predicting daily and weekly stock prices is presented. Predicting stock prices with traditional time series analysis has proven to be difficult. Fuzzy logic based models have advantage of expressing the input-output relation linguistically, which facilitates the understanding of the system behavior. In building a stock prediction model we bear a burden of selecting most effective indicators for the stock prediction. In this paper information used in traditional candle stick-chart analysis is considered as input variables of our fuzzy models. The fuzzy rules have the premises and the consequents composed of trapezoidal membership functions and nonlinear equations, respectively. DE(Differential Evolution) identifies optimal fuzzy rules through an evolutionary process. The fuzzy models to predict daily and weekly open, high, low, and close prices of KOSPI(KOrea composite Stock Price Index) are built, and their performances are demonstrated.

  • A numerical study of the flow of incompressible fluid in a polar cavity is presented. Irregular grids is proposed by applying the interior division principle to the variables on polar coordinate grid formation. Stability analysis and the pressure correction method of SOLA algorithms were discussed in detail on cylindrical coordinates. The results present that unsteady flow behavior appears over $Re=3{\times}10^4$ on polar cavities but nearly steady state at $Re=10^4$. Furthermore, with increasing Reynolds numbers, vortices behaviors indicate more complicated flow phenomena and more severe temporal fluctuation of total kinetic energy and time variation of velocity components at arbitrary pick-up points are detected in case of $Re=5{\times}10^4$.

  • In this paper, we present our method to reduce vibration of the base plate of a refrigerator by avoiding resonance between base plate and compressor operation. To verify the modes of the base plate, FE models of the base plate with free-free condition and applied boundary condition were built and validated by results from experimental modal analysis. Operating Deflection Shape analysis was applied to find the sensitive area on the base plate during compressor operation. In optimization process, Finite Difference Method - based sensitivity analysis is used to detect the most sensitive area. Finally, based on this numerical result, we will make beads on the base plate to reduce vibration of refrigerator.
