Development of Infra-red system for temperature measurement of sub units of urban train (도시철도차량 하부장치 온도 측정용 적외선 방사온도계 개발 및 시험방법에 관한 연구)

  • The abnormally high temperature of the train part is related to train accidents and monitoring is important for safe operation of trains. In case of KTX an abnormality detecting device that detects the abnormality of the axle and scans the urban railway is installed on the railroad and when there is an abnormal heat generation, a system for automatically informing the control center is installed. The IR sensors module used in this system are depend on quick response. we have conducted a study on the fast response test method through the production of experimental equipments.

  • The incidence of traffic accidents is increasing every year, and Korea is among the top OECD countries. In order to improve this, various road traffic laws are being implemented, and various traffic control methods using equipment such as unmanned speed cameras and traffic control cameras are being applied. However, as drivers avoid crackdowns by detecting the location of traffic control cameras in advance through navigation, a mobile crackdown system that can be cracked down is needed, and research is needed to increase the recognition rate of vehicle license plates on the side of the road for accurate crackdown. This paper proposes a method to improve the vehicle number recognition rate on the road side by applying a gradient correction algorithm using image processing. In addition, custom data learning was conducted using a CNN-based YOLO algorithm to improve character recognition accuracy. It is expected that the algorithm can be used for mobile traffic control cameras without restrictions on the installation location.

  • Autobike is insufficient of car navigation informations and high of accident dangerousness comparing to car. So if a system providing autobike driver's driving information and e-call function is developed using smart helmet consisting of collision perception sensor, rear camera, bluetooth communication module, MCU and HUD, It is very useful and can decrease of person's damage and handle expeditious traffic accident during autobike accident. In this paper, when this, "Providing system of autobike driver's information and e-call function", software is developed, a proper analysis and design method for practical affairs try to be presented due to showing software development analysis method, architecture of hardware block-diagram, flowchart and UI design.

  • In this paper, we designed a 24.4GHz 2-channel TX and 4-channel RX patch array antenna mounted on a short-range vehicle radar system to simultaneously measure the range and speed of a single object within a single measurement cycle. The antenna was designed and fabricated using Rogers' RO4350B(εr=3.48, 0.5T) board. Through measurement, it was confirmed that the design specifications of antenna gain (> 10dBi or more) and radiation pattern (Elevation HPBW > 10deg.) were satisfied at 24.4 GHz frequency.

  • 운전자가 아닌 자율주행 시스템이 운전을 주도하기 위한 기술의 상용화를 위해 많은 기업이 노력 중이다. 특히 운전자의 안전을 보장하기 위한 운전자와 자율주행 시스템 간의 제어권전환이 중요하다. 운전자의 주행과 관련 없는 행동은 제어권전환 상황에서 운전자를 위험에 빠뜨릴 수 있으므로 제어권전환을 돕기 위한 운전자 모니터링 기술에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 운전자 모니터링 기술은 주로 생체 정보, 차량 정보, 영상을 사용하여 운전자의 상태와 부주의 행동 등을 감지하는 기술이다. 최근 머신 러닝, 딥 러닝을 사용한 영상처리 및 인식 기술 등의 발전으로 영상을 사용한 운전자 모니터링 기술이 활발하게 연구되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 영상기반 운전자 모니터링 기술 동향에 대해 상세히 기술하였다. 특히 운전자의 부주의 행동 중 졸음은 운전자가 주행 상황을 전혀 인지하지 못하게 할 수 있어 더욱 위험한 행동이다. 따라서 영상기반 운전자 모니터링 기술을 졸음 인식과 그 외의 행동 인식으로 분류하여 동향을 정리하였다.

A Study on Sensor Modeling for Virtual Testing of ADS Based on MIL Simulation (MIL 시뮬레이션 기반 ADS 기능 검증을 위한 환경 센서 모델링에 관한 연구)

  • Virtual testing is considered a major requirement for the safety verification of autonomous driving functions. For virtual testing, both the autonomous vehicle and the driving environment should be modeled appropriately. In particular, a realistic modeling of the perception sensor system such as the one having a camera and radar is important. However, research on modeling to consistently generate realistic perception results is lacking. Therefore, this paper presents a sensor modeling method to provide realistic object detection results in a MILS (Model in the Loop Simulation) environment. First, the key parameters for modeling are defined, and the object detection characteristics of actual cameras and radar sensors are analyzed. Then, the detection characteristics of a sensor modeled in a simulation environment, based on the analysis results, are validated through a correlation coefficient analysis that considers an actual sensor.

  • With the development of artificial intelligence, the prediction system has become one of the essential technologies in our lives. Despite the growth of these technologies, traffic congestion at intersections in the 21st century has continued to be a problem. This paper proposes a system that predicts intersection traffic jams using a Convolutional LSTM (Conv-LSTM) algorithm. The proposed system models data obtained by learning traffic information by time zone at the intersection where traffic congestion occurs. Traffic congestion is predicted with traffic volume data recorded over time. Based on the predicted result, the intersection traffic signal is controlled and maintained at a constant traffic volume. Road congestion data was defined using VDS sensors, and each intersection was configured with a Conv-LSTM algorithm-based network system to facilitate traffic.

  • C-ITS is an intelligent transportation system that can improve transportation convenience and traffic safety by collecting, managing, and providing traffic information between components such as vehicles, road infrastructure, drivers, and pedestrians. In Korea, road infrastructure is being built across the country through the C-ITS project, and various services such as real-time traffic information provision and bus operation management are provided. However, the current state-of-the-art road infrastructure and information linkage system are insufficient to build C-ITS. In this paper, considering the continuity of time in various spatial aspects, we proposed a group-type network-based traffic situation recognition system that can recognize traffic flows and unexpected accidents through information linkage between traffic infrastructures. It is expected that the proposed system can primarily respond to accident detection and warning in the field, and can be utilized as more diverse traffic information services through information linkage with other systems.

  • One of the most important VANET applications is providing active safety by broadcasting emergency messages. In order to prevent broadcast storm of flooding-based broadcasting scheme in which any node receiving message will rebroadcast, the existing protocols use the different methods to limit the number of relay nodes. Nevertheless, the existing protocols have low delivery ratio with high traffic density and cause message overhead. Currently, the dramatic increase in the number of vehicles equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) and onboard radar created new application scenarios that were not feasible before. Consequently, we proposed a broadcasting protocol that selects relay node by using GPS-based position information and detecting neighboring vehicles with the help of onboard radar to. Simulation results show that our proposed protocol has better performance than the existing schemes.

Design and Prototype Development of An Agent for Self-Driving Car (자율운행 자동차의 에이전트 설계 및 프로토타입 개발)

  • A self-driving car is an autonomous vehicle capable of fulfilling the main transportation capabilities of a traditional car. It must be capable of sensing its environment and navigating without human input. In this paper, we design the agent that can simulate these self-driving cars and develop a prototype for it. To do this, we analyze the requirements for the self-driving car, and then the agent is designed to be suitable for traditional multi-agent system. The key point of the design is that agents move along the steering forces only. The prototype of the designed agent was implemented by using Unity 3D. From simulation results using the prototype, movements of the agents were very realistic. However, in the case of increasing the number of the agent the performance was seriously degraded, and so the alternatives of the problem were suggested.
