Fault Detection Method of Laser Inertial Navigation System Using FFT (FFT를 이용한 레이저 관성항법장치 고장검출 기법)

  • Laser Inertial Navigation System(LINS) consists of Ring Laser Gyroscopes(RLG) and accelerometers. RLG has a lock-in region in which there is zero output for input angular rates less than 0.1deg/sec. The lock-in region is generated by the imperfect mirrors in RLG. To avoid the lock-in region, sinusoidal motion which is called dither motion is applied on RLG. Therefore without the fault in LINS, the dither motion must be measured by RLG/accelerometer. In this paper, we propose the method to detect the fault of LINS through checking out whether or not the dither motion is always measured by RLG/accelerometer using the Fast Fourier Transformation(FFT) on the real time. The feasibility of the fault detection method proposed in this paper is verified through the stationary and van test.

  • In this research, a vertical alignment analysis algorithm was developed. The developed algorithm used acquired data from a vehicle with multiple sensors such as a global positioning system (GPS) an inertial navigation system (INS), and a distance measuring unit (DMI) to collect information about vehicle position and altitude. The vertical alignment analysis algorithm includes the identification of vertical tangent sections, the beginning and ending points of vertical curves, and the calculation of length of vortical curves. Also, the algorithm can help build models for vertical tangent sections and vertical curve sections. In order to verify the algorithm, a field survey was conducted at an actual highway section and the result of the field survey was compared to a highway CAD drawing.

  • 유비쿼터스 사회(Ubiquitous Society)로의 진입에 발맞추어 USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) 기반의 인간 중심적 편의 시스템에 관한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 그 중 대형 시장을 갖는 차량 편의시설에 관한 연구는 지능형 차량 시스템(Intelligent Car System)을 중심으로 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 지능형 차량 시스템의 주요 연구는 자동 항법 장치, 사고 예방 장치, 자가 진단 시스템 등 탑승자의 편의성과 안전성을 중심으로 진행되었다. 그러나 탑승자의 사고 발생 시 응급 상황 처리를 위한 지원 시스템은 미미하다. 탑승자 부상으로 사고 신고를 하지 못할 경우, 사고지점 확인, 탑승자의 위급(현재) 상황, 부상 정보와 같은 정보를 얻을 수 없어 응급 상황 대처에 신속하지 못할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 다양한 센서를 이용하여 차량의 정보를 수집하고, 사고 판단 시 차량 위치 정보, 탑승자 상황 정보를 응급 기관에 전달할 수 있는 차량용 스마트 안전장치를 설계 및 구현하였다. 테스트를 위해 Intel PXA255 MCU와 AM-3AXIS(3축 가속 센서), MDSM-1000A(지자기 센서), RX-M800S CDMA, GPS520, Alpha cam, Flex Sensor로 시스템을 제작하였으며 모의 도로 모형에서 테스트 하였다.

  • This paper suggests a new map-matching algorithm for matching traveling trace of vehicle, which is measured by GPS receiver, to the road of a digital map This eventually brings the Improvement of positioning accuracy of the vehicle with GPS receiver After representing the travelling vehicle's motion by state equations using Singer's model, the proposed map-matching algorithm places the position of a vehicle right on the road and also improves the positioning accuracy of the vehicle using a Kalman filter In the crossroad, since it is difficult to determine precisely a current travelling road, we take linear regression to the estimated values from Kalman filtering This gives the direction angle of turning vehicle, then we can determine the correct route direction after comparing with each route-direction angle at the intersection.

Preliminary Analysis of Network-RTK for Navigation (차량항법용 네트워크 RTK 기반 연구)

  • It is well-known that even the DGNSS (Differential Global Navigation Satellite System) technique in navigation for ground vehicles can only provide several meters of accuracy, such that it is suitable for simple guidance. On the other hand, centimeter to millimeter level accuracy can be obtained by using carrier phase observables in the field of precision geodesy/surveying. In this study, a preliminary study was conducted to apply NRTK (Network-RTK) by NGII (National Geographic Information Institute) to ground vehicle navigation. Onboard GNSS receivers were used for NRTK throughout the country, and the applicability of NRTK on navigation was analyzed based on NRTK surveying results. The analysis shows that the overall ambiguity fixing rate of NRTK is high and is therefore possible to apply it for navigation. In urban areas, however, the fixing rate decreases sharply, therefore, it needs to employ a method to minimize the effect of the float solutions, which can reach up to 10 meters. It is still feasible to obtain a centimeter level of accuracy in some area using NRTK under certain conditions. But, the ambiguity fixing rate of FKP falls down to 55% for high speed vehicles, and so the surveying accuracy should be determined by considering various factors of surveying environments. In addition, it is difficult to fix ambiguities using single-frequency GPS receivers. Finally, several suspicious NRTK(FKP) connection problems occurred during atmospheric disturbances (phase two or up), which should be investigated further in upcoming research.

  • A GNSS receiver installed in autonomous vehicles is the most essential device for its navigation. However, if an intentional jamming signal is generated, there is a risk of exposure to an accident risk due to deterioration of the GNSS sensor's performance. Research is required to prevent this, and accordingly, a jamming generating device must be provided. However, according to the provisions of the law related to jamming, this is illegal. In this paper, we implement an in-vehicle jamming device that complies with the provisions of the law and does not affect the surrounding GNSS sensors. Driving simulation is used to evaluate the performance of the GNSS algorithm, and the malfunction of autonomous vehicles occurring in the interference environment and data errors output from the GNSS sensor are analyzed.

  • This study aims to design a chief VDR(Voyage Data Recorder) system which is appropriate to small and medium sized vessels and also implement the data about marine communication devices, sensors, etc. to be stored or printed at the navigator when those data are connected to VDR through data communication between marine navigation and VDR which are based on serial communication or internet in order to prove efficiency of the marine navigator. Also, the design of VDR is intended to be small and light in order to expand to apply it to small and medium vessels, which enables to analyze causes of marine accidents precisely through its characteristic functions which are the same as those at "vehicle mounted black-box" (location of the car, image and voice storage) by which the same roles are played on land.

  • This paper presents a realization of a peer-to-peer communication system for a UAV navigational monitoring using a commercial HSDPA(High Speed Download Packet Access) mobile communication device. The realized system consists of a communication server, an air data terminal and multiple ground monitoring devices, where the server transfers navigational data from a UAV to multiple monitoring devices in real-time with commercial HSDPA modem. Through ground and flight tests, data were obtained to observe the realized system. Test results show that, depending on communicational environment, about 300msec delay, congestion and packet-loss between air data terminal and ground monitoring devices. Nevertheless, through high-speed long range test on a ground vehicle and altitude test with a UAV flight, the feasibility of a UAV navigational monitoring system was observed.
