Effects of phonological awareness and phonological processing on language skills in 4- to 6-year old children with and without language delay (4~6세 일반아동 및 언어발달지연 아동의 음운인식 및 음운처리 능력이 언어 능력에 미치는 영향)

  • Phonological awareness is a metalinguistic awareness ability of phonology and is known to predict language skills, such as reading and vocabulary skills. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between phonological awareness, phonological processing, and language skills in 4- to 6-years-old typically developing (TD) children and children with language delay (LD). A total of 32 children (TD=18, LD=15) participated in this study. They performed a phonological awareness task consisting of counting, deletion, and discrimination at syllable level. Nonword Repetition, Digit Backward, Receptive & Expressive Vocabulary Test, and Grammaticality Judgment Task were performed to analyze the correlation between phonological awareness, phonological processing, and language ability. A multiple stepwise regression analysis was performed to examine the phonological awareness subtasks that predict language ability. In the TD group, the syllable categorization task significantly predicted the receptive vocabulary and the performance of the Grammaticality Judgment Task. The LD group showed that the syllable counting task significantly predicted the receptive vocabulary, the expressive vocabulary, and the performance of the Grammaticality Judgment Task. The results showed that the phonological awareness performance was significantly different between the two groups. Further, correlation analysis and regression analysis showed different results for each group. The result of the phonological awareness performance predicted the language ability of each group significantly, suggesting the importance of the meta-linguistic awareness ability of phonology.

  • 본 논문에서는 노인 대상자들이 신체적으로 기능의 상실, 경제능력의 상실, 사회성의 상실 신체적, 정신적으로 노령화 되어감에 따라 독립적으로 살아가는데 필수적으로 요구되는 활동을 할 수 있는 능력으로 자신의 신체를 돌보는 기술 및 행위와 우울과의 관계를 알아본 결과 경도 우울성향은 일상생활 수행능력이 약간 불편한 집단에서는 50.9%, 많이 불편한 집단에서는 57.1%로 나타났고, 중증도 우울성향은 일상생활 수행능력이 약간 불편한 집단에서는 13.2%, 많이 불편한 집단에서는 28.6%로 나타나서 유의미한 결과로 확인 되었다.

  • The purpose of this study is twofold: (i) to develop a teaching and learning plan and practical performance assessment tools for the improvement of teenager-parent communication and relationships as well as explore their effects on the communication in the everyday family life; and (ii) to find the underlying problems of teenager- parent communication through conversation analysis and to provide a improved dialogue model. We provided the experimental group with a performance task of communication training between teenagers and their parents in the real family situation while the control group practiced communication skills in a learning situation. However for both classes, before and after performance tasks were equally provided. The experimental group exhibited a longer conversation time with their parents, better communication skills, and higher degrees of relational satisfaction than the control group. Conversation analysis revealed that the experimental group reduced the use of blocking techniques in the teenager-parent conversations more than the control group, and all so raised the frequency of functional communications more than the control group. In both areas of communication in the experimental group was significantly improved, Most notably, a problem-solving case through no-lose conflict resolution methods was effective, succeeding by 70% in the e experimental group and 43.3% in the control group. Parents use blocking techniques like admonition, lecturing, blaming. sarcastic remarking, ordering and so forth, while teenagers use dispute, avoidance, blaming, and teasing in this order. The communication problems during the conversation process, teenagers' evasive and rebellious way of speaking instigates adverse communication responses from parents, so their conversation tends to unfold as ambiguous evasion opposed to: inquiring or evasion by short answers vs. ordering-preaching, or disputing vs. criticizing-making sarcastic, disputing vs. disputing-teaching, and criticizing vs. criticizing.

The Relationship between Marital Satisfaction and Job Performance among Secondary School Married Female Teachers (중등기혼여교사의 결혼만족도와 직무수행과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between marital satisfaction and job performance among secondary school married female teachers. The subjects of this study were 237 married female teachers who worked in middle-and high-schools in Seoul and Gyeonggido. To gauge how they were pleased with their married lives. Lee Jeong-ryeon(1987)'s scale that was based on Synder's scale and made up for its segment about relations with family-in-law. As for job performance. Yun Gyeong-hye(2001)'s scale that was based on Son Jeong-hwan(1990)'s teacher job scale was employed. For data analyses. t-tests. ANOVAs. Scheffe tests for pairwise comparison. Pearson's correlations were utilized. The findings of this study illustrated that the marital satisfaction of the secondary school married female teachers were significantly related to their job performance. This indicated that their marital satisfaction served to enhance their job performance. and furthermore. that could be said to determine the quality of school education.

Effects of the Health Management Importance Awareness on Occupational Performance and Basic Fitness for the People with Intellectual Disabilities Participated in the Muscle Strengthening Exercise (건강관리 중요도 인식이 시설 거주 지적장애인들의 작업수행과 기초체력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study performed to provide the basic information about the effects of the health management importance awareness on the occupational performance and basic fitness for the people with intellectual disabilities. 16 people with intellectual disabilities participated in muscle strengthening exercise. To assess health management importance awareness, the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure was used to identify the importance of the health management. According to the results of the importance, they were divided into two groups: Extreme and Neutral Importance Group in order to analyze the changes of the occupational performance and basic fitness. In-group analysis of the performance, satisfaction level, strength, and flexibility found that all measures improved in both groups following completion of the program. Between-group analysis following completion of the program indicated group differences in the performance and satisfaction level, but no group differences were found in the muscle strength and flexibility. Thus, this study showed the positive effects from the results of the program participation targeting the people with intellectual disabilities, and highlighted the importance of the awareness for them regarding the need for the health management (as evidenced by the improvement in occupational performance). It is expected that effective health management through participation in programs such as this will help maintain a healthy lifestyle and contribute to improve the quality of life.

The Effects of a Performance Assessment Based on the Experimental Practice on Student's Science Achievement and Affective Domain in the Middle School Science (실험실습법에 의한 수행평가가 중학생의 과학성취도 및 정의적 영역에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of an application of the experimental practice which is one of the performance assessments on student's science achievement and affective domain in the middle school science For this study, two classes were chosen from a co-ed middle school in Gimhae, and assigned to the experimental and the control groups. Prior to the instructions, a science achievement test and a affective domain test were administered. After the instructions, post-tests which were similar to the pretests were also administered. The results showed that the performance assessment based on an experimental practice was more effective of enhancing students' science achievement. However, there was no significant difference in an affective domain test between the two groups. For the control group, there was a significant difference between the pretest and post test in affective domain. It means that there was a negative change in affective domain of the control group.

Convergence Study for Effect of Probiotics Ingestion and Aerobic Exercise with Different Intensities on Motor Learning and Bodyweight in Adolescence (유산균 섭취와 강도별 유산소 운동이 성장기 운동학습과 체중에 미치는 영향의 융합연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of aerobic exercise and probiotics ingestion on motor learning and body weight in female mice during adolescence. The subjects were divided into six groups of variables, such as non-exercise, moderate, high-intensity exercise, probiotics ingestion, and non-probiotics, and then treated for four weeks. The vertical grid test was conducted before and after the treatment to evaluate motor learning and bodyweight. The high-intensity exercise and probiotics ingestion group showed fastest up, rotation, and down rate than the non-exercise group (p<.001). Also, a group that treated exercise and probiotics tended to record speedier performance than those that performed the only exercise. Comparing weight changes, the weight gain of a group that performed only moderate-intensity exercise was higher than that of a non-probiotics and non-exercise group (p=.032). Taken together, aerobic exercise during adolescence can help improve motor learning, and more efficient motor learning can be achieved when combined with probiotics ingestion.

Analysis of Relationship between Sanitary Knowledge and Sanitary Management Performance of School Foodservice Employees in Gyeongnam (경남 일부지역 학교급식 조리종사자의 위생지식과 위생관리 수행도의 관계 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between sanitary knowledge score and sanitary management performance among school foodservice employees. For this purpose, a paper-based questionnaire was developed and distributed to 300 school foodservice employees in Jinhae-gu, Changwon from May 13 to June 10 in 2009. A total of 276 responses were received and analyzed. The results of this study were as follows. The sanitary knowledge score of school foodservice employees was 16.60 (total score: 20). Their sanitary management performance level was 4.77 (based on a 5-point Likert scale). We found that sanitary management performance level of high sanitary knowledge score group was significantly higher than that of low sanitary knowledge score group (P<0.001). There was a significant positive correlation between sanitary knowledge score and sanitary management performance of school foodservice employees (P<0.01). Regression analysis showed that sanitary knowledge score of school foodservice employees had a positive effect on sanitary management performance (P<0.001). It implies that as school foodservice employees' sanitary knowledge increased, their sanitary management performance increased. In conclusion, to improve the sanitary quality of school foodservice, school foodservice employees' sanitary management performance level should be increased by improving their sanitary knowledge. So, a systematic and consistent sanitary education program should be conducted for school foodservice employees.

  • 고혈압은 다양한 유전적 요인과 환경적 요인들이 상호작용하여 발병하는 질환으로, 기존의 연구에서 dopamine D3 receptor(DRD3)와 고혈압과의 관련성에 관한 보고들이 있었다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 DRD3 유전자에 존재하는 Bail제한절편길이 다형성이 한국인 집단에서 고혈압과 어떠한 관련성이 있는 지를 조사하였다. 환자-대조군 연구를 수행한 결과 이 유전자에 존재하는 다형성은 한국인 집단에서 고혈압과 유의한 관련성을 나타내지 않았다. 그러나, 이 다형성을 구성하는 대립 유전자의 빈도를 여러 민족집단의 결과들과 비교했을 때, 흑인 집단과 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 따라서, 이러한 결과는 DRD3유전자에 존재하는 다형성이 고혈압과의 관련성을 나타내는 지를 정확하게 이해하기 위해서는 혹인 집단을 비롯한 다른 민족집단들을 대상으로 하여 광범위한 연구를 수행할 필요가 있을 것으로 생각된다.

Inter-Species Validation for Domain Combination Based Protein-Protein Interaction Prediction Method

  • 도메인 조합에 기반한 단백질 상호작용 예측 기법은 효모와 같은 특정 종에 대하여 우수한예측 정확도를 보이는 것으로 알려졌으나, 인간과 같은 고등 생명체의 단백질에 대한 상호작용 예측을 수행하기 위하여는 여러종에 대한 기법의 적절성검증과 최적의 학습집단 구성 방안에 대한 연구가 선행되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는, 초파리 단백질을 이용한 예측 정확도 검증으로 도메인 조합 기법의 일반화 가능성을 타진 하고 이종간의 상호작용 예측실험 및 정확도 검증을 통하여 비교적 연구가 덜 되어진 종의 단백질 상호작용 예측을 위한 학습집단 구성 방법에 대하여 기술한다. 초파리 실험에서는 10351개의 상호작용이 있는 단백질 쌍 가운데, 80%와 20%를 각각 학습집단 및 실험집단으로 사용하였으며, 상호작용이 없는단백질 쌍의 학습집단은 1배에서 5배까지 변화시키면서 예측 정확도를 관찰하였다. 이 결과77.58%의 민감도와 92.61%의 특이도를 확인하였다. 이종간의 상호작용 예측 실험은 효모, 초파리, 효모, 초파리에 해당하는 학습집단 각각을 바탕으로 Human, Mouse, E. coli, C. elegans 등의 단백질 상호작용 예측을 수행하였다. 실험 곁과 학습집단의 도메인이 실험집단의 도메인과 많이 겹칠수록 높은 정확도를 보여주었으며, 도메인 집단간의 유사도를 나타내기 위해 고안한 Domain Overlapping Rate(DOR) 는 상호작용 예측 정확도의 중요한 요소임을 찾아내었다.
