An Analysis of Breakdown Cause at Freeway Merge Area (고속도로 합류부의 교통와해 원인 분석)

  • 합류구간에 설치된 차량검지기에서 수집된 조사자료들을 이용하여 본 연구는 교통와해 발생원인과 용량감소 문제를 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 거시적 및 미시적인 방법을 가지고 수행하였으며 거시적인 방법으로는 연결로 교통량의 상대적 비중차이를 분석하였고 미시적으로는 본선에 진입하는 차량들의 패턴을 분석하였다. 거시적인 측면에서 합류부의 교통와해는 같은 합류교통량에 대한 연결로교통량의 비중 차이레 의해 발생된다. 즉, 연결로교통량 비중이 높아질수록 교통와해 발생확률은 증가할 것이다. 또한 미시적인 측면에서는 연결로 교통량이 같을 때 본선에 진입하는 차량군의 크기 및 발생회수, 표준편차가 높아진다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 교통와해의 주요한 원인은 연결로교통량의 영향에 기인한다고 할 수 있고 이러한 영향을 감소시키기 위하여 램프미터링과 같은 고속도로 교통통제 기법이 요구된다.

A Study on the Road Capacity Reduction Rate of Freeway Tunnel Section (고속도로 터널부 도로 용량 감소율에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the capacity of the tunnel and the general section was calculated and compared using the VDS detector data, and the decrease rate in capacity of the tunnel section was analyzed by tunnel type. To compare the capacity of the tunnel and the general section, the Product Limit Method (PLM) was applied to the VDS detector data. As a result of comparing the capacity of the tunnel and general section, the capacity of the tunnel section decreased by about 6.5% compared to the general section. To classify the tunnel type, the tunnel extension and the number of lanes were used as variables, and there was a difference in the decrease rate of capacity by tunnel group classified by each criterion.

동해안지역에 적합한 풍력발전시스템에 관한 조사

  • 동해안의 6개 예정입지 지점의 다년간 기상데이터를 분석한 결과 3개지점 정도의 유수한 후보지를 발견하였다. 특히 장기갑의 평균풍속은 제주도 월항지역 보다 더 우수한 결과를 얻었다. 이 지역에 설치할 수 있는 풍력터빈의 형식으로 수직축 Darrieus Type을 검토한 결과 무리가 없음을 알 수 있었다. 수직축 터빈은 풍속 6m/s이상이면 정격의 발전모드에 진입하니, 3개 지역의 분석결과 년4000시간 이상의 발전은 가능하리라 사료된다. 단위 풍력발전 용량은 향후 상세설계가 뒤따라야 하겠지만, 대략 150-200KW로 산정되며 년간 단위 기계에서 600-800Mwh의 전력을 얻을 수 있으리라 예상된다.

A Study on Roundabout Signal Metering Operation by Considering Entry Lane's Traffic Volume (진입교통량을 고려한 회전교차로 Signal Metering 운영에 관한 연구)

  • Under unsaturated capacity conditions with balanced approach flows, roundabout gives less delay and queue length than existing signalized intersections; however, over capacity conditions with unbalanced approach flows(flow above 450 pcu/h/lane), roundabouts efficiency drops due to the short gap between entering vehicles and circulating vehicles. This study provides a roundabout Signal Metering transfer standard and operation method. In this study, a four-way-approach with one-lane roundabout is selected to compare the Signal Metering performance for the case of unbalanced flow conditions. The performance is evaluated by using SIDRA software in terms of average delay and queue length. The result shows that the Signal Metering provides substantial improvements for the case of total approach flow is 1,800~2,000 pcu/h in which the main approach flow ratio is 60~70% gives 30~40% less delay and 30~60% less queue length than normal roundabout operation. Also, it is approved that operational performance saving can be achieved when the Metered Approach is selected adjoining to the main approach in pair.

  • In LTE (Long Term Evolution)/LTE-A (Long Term Evolution-Advanced) networks, hierarchical macro/femto-cell structure is adopted to enhance system capacity. Such a femto-cell is deployed as a Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) eNB. However, the inbound handover to CSG cell experiences longer delay than normal handover because it spends more time detecting the associated CSG cells due to its sparse deployment. Most of all the legacy UEs (User Equipments) have been implemented without considering the inbound CSG handover. Accordingly, they may not meet the performance requirements on the cell discovery described in the LTE/LTE-A standards. Therefore, in this paper, the performance of the CSG femto-cell detection is evaluated using computer simulation. The evaluation results will provide a basis to tackle the latency problem of inbound CSG handover.

  • 최근 첨단 IT 분야 기반 기술들의 상용화가 시작되고 있다. 이들 기술들을 바탕으로 이동 단말에서 다양한 서비스를 즐길 수 있는 시대로 진입하고 있다. 이동 중인 사용자는 핸드오프가 빈번히 발생되는 환경에서 스트리밍 서비스를 받게 된다. 이러한 환경에서 스트리밍 미디어의 QoS를 만족시키기 위해서는 이동성이 고려된 미디어 데이터선인출이 사용되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 미디어 서버에서 사용자 단말로 스트리밍 미디어가 서비스 될 때 빈번한 핸드오프에 의한 기지국(Base Station : BS) 스트리밍 서버의 자원낭비를 연구한다. 논문에서는 BS의 버퍼용량을 속도와 이동거리에 따라 변화하는 량을 조사하여 선인출 용량 변화가 버퍼 사용률에 영향을 미침을 지적한다.

  • 근래의 드론 산업은 다양한 분야에서 사용이 확대되고 있으나 규제 등 여러 가지 사회적 진입장벽으로 시장 진입에 애로사항이 도출되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 드론 산업의 여러 제약 중 배터리의 제한적인 용량으로 장시간 비행이 어려운 문제를 개선하고자 승강식 드론스테이션을 개발하였다. 승강식 드론스테이션은 드론의 비행 중 배터리가 방전될 시 충전 및 정비를 할 수 있고, 드론 간의 통신 중계기 역할을 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 스테이션에 드론이 접근 시 슬라이딩 도어를 개폐하기 위하여 초광대역 통신을 이용한 거리 측정과 위치 인식 시스템에 대한 내용을 기술하였다.

A Review on the Estimation of Traffic Capacity and Operating Rate of a Fairway (항로의 교통용량 추정 및 항로 가동률에 대한 고찰)

  • Rapid increase of maritime traffic volume and the increase of vessel size make it indispensible for the fairway designer to estimate the traffic capacity of a fairway at its early design stage. In this paper, as one of the methods to estimate the maritime traffic capacity of a fairway, operating rate of a fairway is defined and reviewed together with its basic characteristics, which is a brief estimation model based on bumper model around a ship. The method is applied to the approach channels of major harbors in Korea to give some guidelines on the acceptable traffic capacity of a fairway. In spite of its simplicity, this method can be used as an effective tool to discriminate whether the principal dimension of a fairway is enough or not from the viewpoint of maritime traffic capacity at its initial design stage.

Design Guideline Development for Managed Lane Access Spacing Using Gap Acceptance Theory (간격수락 이론을 이용한 다인승전용차로 진.출입을 위한 도로 디자인 지침정립)

  • The principal objective of this paper is to develop road design guidelines, especially for managed lane access spacing between the expressway on-ramp (or off-ramp) and managed lane access point. Managed lanes are typically located in the expressway median and are accessed by weaving across the mainlines. The high level of lane-changing activity present in weaving areas affects capacity significantly. One promising tool for the analysis of lane-changing activity is "gap acceptance theory." This paper estimates the capacity of weaving areas based on the estimated degree of traffic turbulence using gap acceptance theory. The degree of traffic turbulence is represented by a function of the probability that lane-changing vehicles can complete their maneuvers successfully in a given weaving distance. In developing road design guidelines based on the developed gap acceptance model, the minimum managed lane access spacing is determined where the capacity with respect to the managed lane access spacing becomes stable.

A Study of Level of Service Criteria for Roundabouts (회전교차로의 서비스수준 기준 정립 연구)

  • Korea Highway Capacity Manual (2001) proposes only LOS(Level of Service) analysis method on non-control and two-way-stop intersections, not dealing with the analysis method on LOS for roundabouts, nor even including the term 'roundabout'. This study selects proper MOEs for roundabouts and criteria the LOS through simulation analysis. To attain this goal, the authors reviewed the methods to select proper MOEs in the first step, criteria the Los. For this study, the MOEs were chosen from existing literature, and used for the criteria. The MOEs to be applied to roundabouts in this research were entry traffic volume, v/c (volume/capacity) ratio, and average vehicle delays. The results showed that the maximum entry traffic volume(LOS F) at local one-lane roundabout was analyzed to be 1,700pcph and average vehicle delay 18 seconds LOS A was analyzed as 700pcph and average vehicle delay 3 seconds and v/c 0.41 in this case Maximum entry traffic volume(LOS F) at local area 2 lane roundabouts was analyzed as 2,900pcph and their average vehicle delay as 31 seconds LOS A was analyzed to be 1.500pcph and average vehicle delay 8 seconds, v/c 0.52.
