Rock Mechanics Studies at the KAERI Underground Research Tunnel for High-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal (고준위폐기물 처분연구를 위한 지하처분연구시설에서의 암석역학 관련 연구)

  • An underground research tunnel, KURT, was constructed at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, for various in situ validation experiments related to the development of a high-level radioactive waste disposal system. KURT, which has length of 255 m (access tunnel 180 m and research modules 75 m) and size of $6m{\times}6m$ was excavated in a cryatalline rock mass. In the KURT project, different rock mechanics studies had been carried out during the concept design, site characterization, detailed design, and construction stages. From the geophysical survey, borehole investigation, and rock property tests in laboratory and in situ, the rock and rock mass properties required for the mechanicsl stability analysis of KURT could be achieved and used for the input parameters of computer simulations. In this paper, important results from the rock mechanics studies at KURT and the three-dimensional mechanical stability analysis will be introduced.

  • Junction at the staircase is one of key factors for building egress analysis. The most important factor is the congestion at the door or somewhere connecting from bigger area to smaller one. The other factor is the congestion in the staircase. It happens when people from upper floors meets people from the connecting floor. Especially egress situation at the high-rise building is worse. The simulation of the junction is only described by physical agent algorithms in egress model. For that reason, the description of phenomena will validate with the result of experiment and estimate the gap between modeling and experiment. In this research, the experiment of the junction and the simulation was conducted and validated. The gap between the experiment and the modeling was estimated. The flow rates of modeling were lower than the modeling.

  • This thesis suggested that the 'customized' marketing would be a new strategy in terms of a marketing in the digital media age under the circumstances where a form of marketing was evolving in accordance with the convergence of digital media. Because of the media environment due to an 'individualization', the strategy would meet an individual demand of a consumer in a rapidly changing environment. The best marketing to capture a 'customer's heart' is not a brand that first entered the market, but the one that is first settled in a customer's heart. If a differentiated interactive marketing strategy is equipped, it is possible to capture a completely new market space ad create a profit over several years. In the aspect of an effect of a digital marketing, first, a concept relating to an interaction between a consumer and a producer is important. Secondly, the important one is an empathy marketing which is an emotional marketing through a brand image beyond a product. Thirdly, the author studied an orally transmitted marketing effect through digital media.

Storytelling of Korean Virtual Reality Game Fiction (한국 가상현실 게임소설의 스토리텔링)

  • This study aims to analyze remediation of games and fictions in Korean virtual reality game fictions and to derive the storytelling of virtual reality game fictions through them. The purpose of this study is to explore the possibilities that Korean game fiction based on the web can be expanded as popular literature. The main character of the fiction is a male in his twenties. In the neoliberal society, he is set as a member of the neglected class and lacking privilege. He enters the virtual world because of the deficiency experienced in the real world. It minimizes the mediation process between the real world and the interface. On the other hand, the repetitive actions performed by the protagonist belong to the category of self - destructive labor. As a result, he shows signs of narcissism. In the Korean virtual reality game fiction, the magic circle appears blurred, and the real world and the virtual world are linked. In this process, the virtual world functions as a substitute space to solve the problem of reality. The establishment of such a space, and the resolution of conflicts are merely narrative characteristics of Korean game fictions that are different from North America and Europe.

  • Korean cartoons, seeking an exit from economic distress, naturally entered the era of webtoons as the Internet arose in early 2,000s. Webtoons, a new concept of cartoon, are drawn mostly by oneself, whereas cartoons before were drawn with the help of many apprentices. This research demonstrates that webtoon artists are required to use many programs and fully understand the Internet environment in order to draw webtoons. This tough conditions pose many problems for an artist who should draw well and quickly under the circumstances. We are now at a stage where a simple webtoon program is needed and will go over alternatives. I have researched characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of webtoon's core programs such as Photoshop, Comicstudio, Cytool, and Clipstudio, and what would be the optimal functions for webtoons. I offer new programs that are optimized for story cartoons that can be utilized with webtoons.

스마트 사회의 보안위협과 정보보호 정책추진에 관한 제언

  • 우리는 지금 스마트 사회에 살아가고 있다. 언제 어디서든 스마트 디바이스를 통해 기존에 PC에서 하던 작업들을 손쉽게 하고 있다. 한편 스마트폰의 확산으로 이용자 수가 급증하고 있는 소셜네트워크 서비스(SNS)는 이용자들이 자신의 일상적인 이야기를 사이버공간에 게시함으로 인해 개인의 사생활 정보들이 노출되고, 그러한 정보들이 범죄에 악용되는 사례들이 눈에 띄게 증가하고 있다. 또한 SNS를 이용한 악성코드의 유포 및 빠른 전파 등도 새로운 보안위협으로 나타나고 있다. 그 밖에 스마트 기기를 대상으로 한 해킹 및 악성코드 감염 등 위협이 증가하고 있는 형편이다. 본고에서는 스마트 사회의 주요 보안위협을 살펴보고 미국, 유럽, 일본, 호주 등 선진국의 관련 정책 동향과 국내 정책과 실태를 분석하여 새로운 정보보호 정책 수립 방향을 제언하고자 한다. 스마트 사회 위험 요소로 가장 보편적으로 사용되고 있는 스마트폰과 스마트폰을 통해 이용되고 있는 소셜네트워크 서비스, 클라우드 서비스의 보안위협을 제기하고 최근 글로벌 이슈로 떠오르고 있는 빅 데이터 환경의 보안위협을 분석하였다. 스마트 사회의 위협을 대비하고 있는 주요국 정책을 살펴보면, 미국의 경우 사회적 합의를 바탕으로한 감시와 통제를 강화하는 정책을 추진 중에 있으며 유럽의 5개국 EU5(영국, 독일, 프랑스, 스페인, 이탈리아)는 스마트폰 위협을 중심으로 공동 대응 방안을 마련하고 있다. 일본은 스마트 워크중심의 보안대책을 강구하고 있으며 호주는 스마트 사회 보안위협에 대한 국민의 인식제고에 주력하고 있다. 국내의 경우도 스마트 사회의 보안위협에 선제적 대응을 위하여 "스마트 모바일 시큐리티 종합계획"을 수립하여 추진중에 있다. 하지만 보안 실태를 보면 스마트 사회 보안위협에 대한 이용자들의 우려는 높은 반면 기업의 보안 대책 마련에 대한 투자는 여전히 미흡한 상황이다. 향후 우리 사회가 디바이스간 융합을 넘어 모든 사물이 연결되는 초(超)연결(Hyper-Connectivity) 시대로 진화되어 가면 편리성이 증대되는 만큼 더 많은 위협에 우리의 일상이 노출되는 문제가 발생하게 될 것이다. 안전한 미래 사회로 진입하기 위해서는 보다 체계적이고 종합적인 정보보호 정책마련이 필요하다. 본고에서는 이를 위한 정책수립의 방향을 제언했다.

  • Establishing a public transportation transfer system that can reduce personal automobile use in the CBD and absorb the demand, thereby reducing congestion, is a necessity. However, the current transfer system and facilities are lacking in intermodal connectivity, require long transfer times, have complex flow patterns, and are lacking in information systems and convenience. The design analysis program of this study is to develop a program that executes computations of design analysis of transfer facilities by utilizing the existing design standards for facilities such as facilities for boarding and alighting, elements for convenience, and pedestrian facilities. Developing an analytical tool through which individual or integrated design analysis can be conducted on the design standards of various facilities is an important study for improving the work accuracy and efficiency of designing an actual transfer center.

Seam Tensile Strength of Geotextile Mat and Stress Increment Analysis (지오텍스타일 봉합 인장강도와 지반의 응력증가분 해석)

  • In the west coast, south coast, and river basin, the use of geotextile mats has been increasing to improve the soft ground for making industrial facilities space and farmland. As an initial step to improve the vast and soft ground, the geotextile mats are laid and bonded to increase the bearing capacity of the wide ground for supporting construction equipment. Seam strength of geotextile mats exert a force only about 50% of the tensile strength of the fabric, which causes problems such as uplift and sinking in the soft ground. In this study, various types of geosynthetic matting techniques were investigated and the tensile strength of each method was compared and analyzed. Numerical analysis shows that stress increment in the ground due to the overburden load decreases when the seam strength of the geosynthetics mats is increased. When the seam strength was increased to 60, 70 and 80%, the bearing capacity of ground by geotextile mat was increased.

The Structure of Conflict in TV Mini-series: Focused on 2000~2005 (TV 미니시리즈 갈등구조 : 2000~2005년을 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed the conflict plots of the top 5 most watched TV series during the 2000-2005 period. It was observed that those popular series typically took love and success as main subject matters to actually aim for such a sensitive social issue as the widening gap between the rich and the poor as well as audience's desire for higher status. They even dared to describe our lives at home and the job as power relationships to heighten the intensity of the conflict. On the other hand, the resolution took a wide variety of both positive and negative endings - ranging from marriages and conciliations to death and arrests - as a way to have the antagonists punished. The deus-ex-machina was often used. A chronological view of the change in the conflict plots of successful dramas should deserve further academic interests.

A study of express bus entrance system for wheelchair users (고속버스용 휠체어 탑승 전용 승강구 개조부 연구)

  • In the rapidly aging society, the number of wheelchair users is increasing steadily. On the other hand, it is almost impossible for a disabled person using a wheelchair to use express buses. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an express bus that can secure the rights of wheelchair users. For these special types of express buses, it is required to develop a special entrance and lift system. The development of a wheelchair entrance system for the express buses requires design modification, retrofit, and reinforcement of the bus frame. This study evaluated the structural integrity of an entrance system for wheelchair users using a finite element method. Torsional stiffness and modal analysis were performed through structural analysis. Through sensitivity analysis, optimization was performed to reduce the weight of the frame. These results on the wheelchair entrance system are expected to be utilized in the vehicle modification and welfare industries.
