  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of career resilience and its sub-variables in the relationship between career barriers and career preparation behavior. Toward this end, 338 college students were selected as subjects of the study. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 25.0 and the process macro of Hayes. The main research results are as follows. First, the career barrier showed significant negative correlations with career preparation behavior, career resilience, and the sub-variables of career resilience. The career preparation behavior showed significant positive correlations with career resilience and the sub-variables of career resilience. Second, the career resilience showed a significant complete mediating effect in the relationship between career barrier and career preparation behavior. This means that when career resilience was mediated, career barriers affected career preparation behavior through career resilience; however, career barrier did not directly affect career preparation behavior. Third, the achievement aspiration and career self-reliance showed a significant mediating effect in the relationship between career barrier and career preparation behavior. However, self-confidence, coping with change, and relationship utilization did not show significant mediating effects. Based on these findings, the implications of career education and suggestions for subsequent research were discussed.

The Carrer Identity showed statistically significant differences in gender. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between the Carrer Identity of Self-elasticity(r=.370, p=.000), and Grit(r=.283, p=.000). Carrer Identity showed Models including the variables, Self-elasticity, Gender, Grit explained 22.6% of the variance in the Carrer Identity stress. Based on the outcome of this study, steps should be taken to design intervention program that emphasize a improve Carrer Identity for nursing students.

  • This study examined whether career decision-making self-efficacy, self-resilience, and career maturity in university students affects the job seeking stress. In particular, this study focused on whether career maturity has a mediating effect among career decision-making self-efficacy, self-resilience and job seeking stress. University students have approximately three points in career maturity - the mid-point of a five-point scale, and career decision-making self-efficacy was proved as a variable affecting the career maturity. In addition, self-resilience has no significant effect on career maturity, and a study of the relationship between the career decision-making self-efficacy and job seeking stress revealed a low correlation. In career decision-making self-efficacy affecting job seeking stress, the career decision-making self-efficacy itself has an effect on the job seeking stress but job seeking stress can improve the career maturity. This study, which is related to career maturity, is different from previous studies dealing with only a single dimension for the direct influence.

  • This study examined the relationships among ego resilience, career decision-making self-efficacy and job-seeking stress of senior nursing students. Data was collected through self-reporting questionnaire to 175 nursing students 3rd and 4th grade. Stepwise multiple regression revealed grade, career decision-making self-efficacy, satisfaction on university life to be significant predictors of job-seeking stress. These variables accounted for 13.5% of job-seeking stress. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the job-seeking stress of senior nursing students through multidisciplinary intervention which strengthens career decision-making self-efficacy considering grade, satisfaction on university life.

  • This study examined resilience and career decision-making among specialized technical high school students with the aim of proposing preliminary data to suggest ways to improve self-efficacy in career decision-making through establishing proper resilience. The specific research questions were set as; first, to define the resilience status in relation to the students' personal characteristics among students; second, to describe the status of self-efficacy in career decision-making related to the students' personal characteristics among students; and last, to examine the influence of resilience on self-efficacy in career decision-making among specialized technical high school students. To accomplish such research objectives, the assessment survey was developed after reviewing the theoretical literature on specialized technical high school students' background, ego identity, and self-efficacy in career decision-making. The survey was comprised of 54 items including personal characteristics (3 items), resilience (27 items), and self-efficacy in career decision-making (24 items). A total of 990 students from industrial specialized high schools across the country completed the survey, and the responses from 775 students were used for the final analyses after excluding the surveys with unanswered items or untrustworthy responses. Results were as follows: The group with higher levels of school adaptation and satisfaction showed higher resilience and career decision-making than those with lower levels of school adaptation and satisfaction. Furthermore, for the influence of resilience on self-efficacy in career decision-making, the results showed that resilience had positive associations with self-efficacy in career decision-making, and all correlations and coefficients of determination showed a robust statistical significance. Therefore, to enhance self-efficacy in career decision-making, education that could help students better adapt to school, increase satisfaction with the school, and create positive resilience must precede.

  • This study was to conducted to explore predictors of emotional labor of clinical practice and resilience on professional identity in nursing students. The data were collected from September to December, 2021, for 142 nursing students in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Satisfaction of major showed statistically significant differences in professional identity (F=19.97, p<.001). Professional identity was positively associated with resilience (r=.30, p<.001) and negatively associated with emotional labor (r=-.35, p<.001). Multiple regression analyses showed that satisfaction of major and emotional labor were statistically significant (𝛽=-.268, p<.001) in predicting professional identity with the explanatory power of 29.3%. To enhance professional identity in nursing students, it is necessary to develop strategies to improve their satisfaction of major and to provide educational programs for coping skill in managing their emotional labor in clinical practice.
